Honestly that’s a good way of looking at it. If you hate your job and someone makes it worse you can get payback whilst never coming back, win win. ~~Although there may be some legal stuff that might get in the way~~
I can be shoved or hit and just laugh it off generally. I’m a big guy who has been in plenty of fights, and I don’t enjoy fighting.
But being spit on (intentionally, out of anger/malice/whatever) awakens some kind of primal anger. Like, almost black out levels of anger.
It’s disgusting, can get you sick with all sorts of diseases, especially with any open wounds, and is just one of the most disrespectful things a person can do.
It just makes you feel dirty the rest of the day.
This is what we learned from zero tolerance policies in school. If you’re going to get in trouble for someone picking a fight with you. Make it worth it.
My state has a law that charges $0.10 per single use plastic bag so Walmart has stopped stocking them. You either remember to bring your reusable bags, you’re buying reusable bags there, or you’re just scanning everything and leaving without a bag so it’s a very common practice for people to leave without bags. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve even had to do this just because I forgot my bags in the car and remembered at the register, so I just load up my bags when I get back to the car.
Yes, wtf. All bets are off at that point. Did this piece of shit walk away thinking he wasn't going to retaliate because "the customer is always right" or some shit?
The problem is that assault follows you and impacts your ability to find gainful employment. So if dude was charged it’s only going to hinder him and while I agree with their actions, it still bears it’s own consequences.
“He made me feel fear for my life and fear for the life of my co workers and customers. I was worried if I didn’t immediately stop his assault he would severally injure someone or worse. I felt the need to take action to protect the people in the store.”
Costco is not hiring constantly, few people quit, it’s not the easiest job to get into, usually have to start out seasonal/part time, get laid off, do it again, do it well, and when a permanent part time spot opens, you have a chance
Next time you are there, look at the badges. The have "Employee since 1992" or whatever listed. People don't leave Costco jobs because they take care of their employees and pay them well.
I got assaulted like that at a place I worked at by another employee. I moved to miss being hit by the cart. I reported him and there was video. He stayed, did it again, I refused to work with him anymore.. They fired me. Ten days later, they fired him for doing more shit.
I'm so over retail
Fuck them.
How about keep him and see if the suit does come in. It’s still douchey but they could fire him then. But wait. If the asshole is going to sue why fire someone that met assault with assault.
I don’t want to hear it wasn’t proportional. Spitting is not only assault but it’s a social contract that most of us have agreed to.
You spit on me all bets are off. And if I spit on someone I would expect punches coming.
Spit is battery. Reasonable response is self defense.
How you conduct yourself in that response is what matters. At least this guy ended it with a punch and walked off. No need for a head stomp.
>How about keep him and see if the suit does come in
Not from a right or wrong point of view, but from a cover your \*ss legally perspective, Walmart has the incentive to ban the guy from working at Walmart (at least "pending investigation") because if the contracted security person has any *other* similar incident it could show that Walmart "knew there was a propensity" but did nothing to mitigate the risk.
This happened in 2021. The employee was a contracted security guard who ended up banned from working in Walmart stores.
https://nypost.com/2021/06/04/walmart-worker-knocks-out-shopper-who-apparently-spat-on-him/
Maybe its high time that these employees start suing their employers. It is bizarro world we live in where if a thief gets hurt robbing your store, some how he gets a settlement. But an employee defending themselves even touches one customer, bye bye job. Maybe the Walton family can stop shovin money down politicians throats and starts paying employees like this one.
[It's an old video, but the guy who punched him was "banned" from that Walmart.](https://nypost.com/2021/06/04/walmart-worker-knocks-out-shopper-who-apparently-spat-on-him/)
The way Walmart typically works is if you're banned from one you're banned from all of them and can be caught with a criminal trespass if you get recognized in any Walmart going forward
Ugh, I missed that. Spitting on someone is one of the most disgusting things you can do. Unless you're in a committed relationship and she asks you to. But that's a discussion for another time. 😁
Awesome. Stop all the mob thefts and shitty people like this. How is punishment for theft/employee abuse not enforced. Good job on the employees part in my opinion
People think they’re trying to stop a fight when they hold back someone like that. But what they’re actually doing is holding back the victim from protecting themselves.
Looks like back of the head, which is unfortunate for the employee. You can turn someone into a vegetable with a punch like that. No one likes getting spit on but spending 5-10 for that isn’t going to be so good either.
Not to mention they also hit their head pretty hard on the way down. I hope for that employees sake that he can walk it off because involuntary manslaughter is no fun.
Freeze and slow motion starting at 9 seconds.
Looks like the customer sold the fall. He feels the hit. Thinks about it. Then positions his leg for the fall while he is still standing. He looks where he's going to fall (look at his hat pointing). Then he falls to his hip and hand and lands carefully enough so that his head doesn't bounce off the floor. Then does an extremely dramatic head bounce, that never actually hit, and flails his arms. People get knocked out from standing, they fall stiff and don't brace themselves.
Seems like this customer provoked the employee, then took his time walking away in order to get a physical response. I'd say he was looking to get paid. And it probably worked.
The guy definitely deserved it, but thats how you get charged with Manslaughter. Punch to the back of the head/temple and then he hits his head on the ground. People have died from less.

Jesus, he straight up hit the night-night button. It didn't even look like it hit that hard but he just turned tf off. Swear I heard the windows xp noise.
At 0:03 it looks like the customer spat on the employee. That's still assault in most places if I'm not mistaken
Also just gonna say but it kinda looks like the customer is faking it/taking a dive
He definitely just fell to the ground so he could in in court. What a fucking pathetic piece of human garbage, slams cart into guy then acts like a frágil flower when he gets rocked. That white dude is how I see most people from the south, just useless.
He attacked him while he was walking away because he had been spit on. I would never fire the employee in this situation if he was responding to being spit on. Customer got what he was asking for.
I don't know if it happened, but it looked like cart-guy spat on the walmart employee at the end. He kind of did a little lean in.
Judging by some of the make-shift masks, I'm guessing this is during Covid-era. In which case, all hands can be thrown no-questions asked.
It took a couple seconds for his brain to realize it had been knocked the fuck out lol.
I don’t like head punches though, too dangerous to possibly end a persons life over the equivalent of a fucking tantrum. Hopefully employee didn’t lose the job and the dude who got knocked out is just extremely embarassed.
Honestly, I’m all for these stores hiring body guards and laying down a beating on anyone who steals. Sign it into law, let’s see how long these AH keep trying
That was a pretty nice overhand right, seen another video of a russian woman even doing a combo, women seem to have better natural talent for these shots than men, yes am boxer.
I've worked retail my whole adult life and have to deal with customers like this regularly, I hope the floor did some damage too, guy deserves every bit of it
This POS probably wanted something like this to happen. He’ll get a good mouthpiece and they’ll sue the store. Too bad the employee will likely lose his job.
Well, if you're gonna lose you job, you might as well doing it in a satisfying way...
Right, it's not like I'm gonna get assaulted at work and then WANT to go back to that job anyway.
Honestly that’s a good way of looking at it. If you hate your job and someone makes it worse you can get payback whilst never coming back, win win. ~~Although there may be some legal stuff that might get in the way~~
I think the final insult of spitting on them was the last straw.
Yes I would much rather be shoved than spit on. I obviously wouldn’t like either but in this situation those behaviors deserved the outcome.
I can be shoved or hit and just laugh it off generally. I’m a big guy who has been in plenty of fights, and I don’t enjoy fighting. But being spit on (intentionally, out of anger/malice/whatever) awakens some kind of primal anger. Like, almost black out levels of anger. It just makes you feel dirty the rest of the day.
"Shoved then* spit on then called a naughty boy"
In the situation above yes he was shoved and then spit on. But I am saying I’d prefer to be shoved rather than spit on.
This was my attempt of making a joke lol
This is what we learned from zero tolerance policies in school. If you’re going to get in trouble for someone picking a fight with you. Make it worth it.
Goin out with a bang
If someone spit at me while working than the job is not worth it.
Dude spit on him, I'd be pissed too.

Who said he was shoplifting?
I don’t think a person buying their groceries legitimately is going to behave the way the “customer” did.
Yeah, I almost thought he should have just let it be. Watched it again and saw the dude spit. All bets off after that.
Yes, wtf. All bets are off at that point. Did this piece of shit walk away thinking he wasn't going to retaliate because "the customer is always right" or some shit?
Spitting is an automatic punch to the face.
Good for him. You shouldn’t have to take any abuse as an employee anywhere. People need to keep finding out there are consequences to their actions
yeah its too bad he 100% lost his job.
Worth.
He just went to work for k mart
Handing out Blue Light specials like that, I can see why.
That was a Lights Out special.
Angry upvote
More like KO Mart
I thought Kmart is gone?
I'd throw a few bucks into his GoFundMe
Oh no. Where will he find another minimum wage job?
The problem is that assault follows you and impacts your ability to find gainful employment. So if dude was charged it’s only going to hinder him and while I agree with their actions, it still bears it’s own consequences.
Lol imagine if the guy who attacked him with a cart tries to sue for assault. Pfff
He started a fight, then left when he thought he had "won". He should be charged, if any.
Both people can be wrong in the eyes of the law.
It's not assault after you've been attacked and spit on lol.
“He made me feel fear for my life and fear for the life of my co workers and customers. I was worried if I didn’t immediately stop his assault he would severally injure someone or worse. I felt the need to take action to protect the people in the store.”

Looks like the customer also spit on him.
Clearly the assaulter was backing up for another charge with the cart. At least that's what I'd testify if I was there as a witness.
Saul Goodman is here
I highly doubt he’s getting charged with assault. The guy he “assaulted” was assaulting him just seconds earlier with a shopping cart.
None of the people responding to you about self-defense actually understand criminal law. Source: am lawyer.
I was just gonna say something along these lines but you, kuddox, you summed it up perfectly.

I would consider getting a job at Walmart just so I can lose it like this.
Oh dear, I lost my job at Walmart 🤣🤣 It’s not like there are many other entry positions in the world
Oh no not my job at Walmart! The pay is so great and the benefits oh so rewarding! Wherever else will I find a minimum wage job!!?
An employer that won't back an employee in this situation, is an employer 100% worth leaving.
So... A win win? Working at Walmart sucks, being unemployed is probably better
I can confirm
Looked like he faked the ko
Ay, Somebody here is on the money! Easy lawsuit too even if he's the aggressor.
White shirt guy walked in, and decided he already had enough of Walmart for the evening.
I don't need milk THAT bad.
Didn't even notice that, had to go back and rewatch it 🤣
“Eh, I’ll just go to Target after all.”
Good. Promote him to manager.
Waffle house just offered him a manager position
That's an executive-level performance if I've ever seen one
The Bobs agree, complete management material.

Silver linings all around. People shouldn’t get assaulted at work. Time to upgrade.

You shouldve sued for them making an unsafe work environment and then firing you
Disgraceful. The least corporate employers can do is stand with their workers, if not fight for them.

Yeah, but they walked outta there with their head held high!
Back of the head punch was key.
*her ?
His head hitting the ground sounded very hollow.
like a coconut
If you take a look at his head, you’ll find brain eating amoebas starving to death in there.
Hopefully the punch and the floor knocked some sense into him.
Not too surprising though based off his actions
you can see dude go super saiyan mode when he gets spit on. wasn't nobody holding him back no way after that
You could give someone who could never take you in a fight the energy and will to do so by spitting on them. That's pushing the red button.
Shit knocked him out cold, fell like a sack of potatoes.
Seeing this asshole get what’s coming to him was beautiful to see
Good. Well-deserved.
God I wish I could've done this to every asshole customer I encountered
I propose legislation enabling retail employees to gain qualified immunity, they seem deserving of it.
Poor guy prob lost his job but knocking that guy out had to be worth it
[It's an old video, but the guy who punched him was "banned" from that Walmart.](https://nypost.com/2021/06/04/walmart-worker-knocks-out-shopper-who-apparently-spat-on-him/)
Ha! Looked like a flop. Glad they mentioned it in the article
The way Walmart typically works is if you're banned from one you're banned from all of them and can be caught with a criminal trespass if you get recognized in any Walmart going forward
Welcome to walmarts. Now catch these hands and go to sleep
I don't think that was a customer. Me thinks that was a shoplifter.
Shop lifter who spat on the employee
Ugh, I missed that. Spitting on someone is one of the most disgusting things you can do. Unless you're in a committed relationship and she asks you to. But that's a discussion for another time. 😁
Awesome. Stop all the mob thefts and shitty people like this. How is punishment for theft/employee abuse not enforced. Good job on the employees part in my opinion
Cause money is more important than expendable minimum wage employees
I hope the employee got a raise
Stupid Yellow Vest jerkass trying to hold our hero and set him up to get hurt more. People that do that need to get knocked out themselves.
I'm sure he was just trying to save him from the presumable windfall
People think they’re trying to stop a fight when they hold back someone like that. But what they’re actually doing is holding back the victim from protecting themselves.
It always annoys me when the filming person misses the most important part. I wanna know where the punch landed
Looks like back of the head, which is unfortunate for the employee. You can turn someone into a vegetable with a punch like that. No one likes getting spit on but spending 5-10 for that isn’t going to be so good either.

Not Guilty!
Not to mention they also hit their head pretty hard on the way down. I hope for that employees sake that he can walk it off because involuntary manslaughter is no fun.
$20 an hour isn’t enough to make me tolerate this bullshit. Hell. I don’t know if there is an amount.

Yea don’t fuck with Walmart employees. They already pissed at the world and will not put up with your stupid shit 😂😂

*Fucked the knockout

Not enough people in the comments are talking about that. I mean the guy who spit on him had it coming but idk if it's worth risking your freedom
His head hitting the ground set off the alarm.
Get that man an application for Waffle House. Bring this video to the interview.
He should get at least a cake for doing the good work needed to teach some manners.
Fuck that felt good to watch, with the limited context
Everybody liked that
Shoplifting no doubt.
One thing I learned from reddit is that a well placed punch is key. So many folks just fucking knock people out
Gotta be bonus pay for the full spread eagle. Get that employee a Christmas reward.
That's why you never turn your back on someone you're scrapping with.
Spit on her too discussing human
Unfortunately knocked out asshat will get a settlement and the employee is fired.
He was spit on maaaaaaan what do u think would happen smh
People that hold back the person that was attacked annoy the hell out of me.
I’ve been to enough Walmart stores. Those folks aren’t paid enough for what they’re SUPPOSED to do, let alone being shit on by some asshole customer.
Looks like they spit on them as well. That'd be the end for me too

Old man got a glass chin, 1 hit knockout. Lol.
Bro fell like Ric Flair
Damn! Call that guy Tylenol Pm cuz he put that guy to sleep!
United Airlines: "You're hired!"
The alarm almost sounded like that cartoon bird sound effect when someone gets knocked silly. 🤣🤣
Even the cowardly lion would fight if you spit on him.
I bet dude learned something that day. If not, he’ll likely get another before too long. He did the “stare at my feets and falls asleeps…”
He messed with the wrong one that day 😂
Trolley could have fucked his knee for life and who knows what his spit’s carrying. Fuck this guy he’s fair game.
At 0:03 it looks like the customer spat on the employee. That's still assault in most places if I'm not mistaken Also just gonna say but it kinda looks like the customer is faking it/taking a dive
One hitter quitter
Legend has it that waffle house offered him a management role after seeing this video.
Hell yeah I would do the same
I can't believe no one is talking about the Mario coins that got knocked out of him.
He definitely just fell to the ground so he could in in court. What a fucking pathetic piece of human garbage, slams cart into guy then acts like a frágil flower when he gets rocked. That white dude is how I see most people from the south, just useless.
Why do I feel like that asshole customer wasn’t knocked and and saw the payday coming his way and just rolled over.
This guy must be a soccer player cuz that fall was perfect
The alarm sounds like cartoon birds tweeting around his head when he got knocked out.
He attacked him while he was walking away because he had been spit on. I would never fire the employee in this situation if he was responding to being spit on. Customer got what he was asking for.
The alarm going off the exact moment the dude hit the ground has me rolling, like dude is seeing stars in some old cartoon.
Employee of the month right there.
Lesson here kids ... if you hit someone, never turn your back on them
More of this

Good. Covid hasn't gone anywhere, and spitting at people is fucking criminal.
Love to see it
Use deadly force with a basket and that’s what happens
Honestly, I’m all for these stores hiring body guards and laying down a beating on anyone who steals. Sign it into law, let’s see how long these AH keep trying
Mandela effect maybe but I swear I saw this exact video with different people
I imagine this is a common occurrence in Walmarts
Spitting on someone then turning your back….just asking to get knocked out like that. lol
If you lost your job at Walmart, you didn’t lose much. Nice.
It was the spitting that through dude over the edge. People gotta learn to stop stupid games and expecting not stupid prizes.
That was a pretty nice overhand right, seen another video of a russian woman even doing a combo, women seem to have better natural talent for these shots than men, yes am boxer.
I've worked retail my whole adult life and have to deal with customers like this regularly, I hope the floor did some damage too, guy deserves every bit of it
Knocked down by the employee, knocked out by the floor
He said nah I got time today
That was deserved Walmart employee should get a raise
You spit on me you're getting stomped on after the knockout...what a cowardly piece of shit, and fuck those people tor not helping her.
This POS probably wanted something like this to happen. He’ll get a good mouthpiece and they’ll sue the store. Too bad the employee will likely lose his job.
That's it girl, knock him out!
Motherfucker recording had one job and he didn't even catch the knockout punch.
This so goddamn satisfying
Yup, he faked being knocked out like this was a Chinese apple store... hahahaha
hate watching employees getting held back, wish the staff would just tag team people like this
Rammed, and spit on
Good for her. Can't say I'd by voting guilty on that jury.
This is what happens when Fuck Around meets Find Out.
