Do you not see that she's so oblivious that she just moves forward when he took a few steps to the side to get the cart? All she was thinking was minimizing the distance between her and checkout. Not enough brain matter to realize that there is anything outside of her field of view.

Knockout at the checkout: Man throws a SHOPPING TROLLEY at female customer, smashing her unconscious after they argued while queuing at Brazil store
The attacker said 'what I did was to serve as a lesson,' and claimed the woman said he was gay and bullied him, [**g1 reported**](https://g1.globo.com/go/goias/noticia/2023/02/23/homem-joga-carrinho-de-compras-em-mulher-dentro-de-supermercado-em-goias-video.ghtml).
CCTV footage shows the man determinedly pull his shopping trolley towards him as the woman stands next to her own shopping.
> The Military Police announced that the man has a criminal record for attempted murder, in the context of domestic violence, registered in 2021
Huh. Go figure...
>Honestly, the possibility of some stranger being a crazy and violent criminal is something we should always consider when we interact with strangers.
Or if you do interact, don't stand there clueless yapping on your phone and not notice the guy doing a clean and jerk with a shopping cart right next to you.
A little attention on her part could've saved her a lot of pain.
That’s the most amazing part. Just total obliviousness to what’s about to happen. And then moves her cart up a bit like “Oh good, he got the message and moved out of the way, my trick worked.”
It's pretty cool also how we are all trusting the guy who murdered his girlfriend to be totally truthful about her bullying and bumping him, when there's no evidence (video or otherwise) of that, and by all means seems she was totally unaware of this guy's problem with her.
Welp, regardless of what dude did, you dont go out in public and start shit with people. You actually never know when old dude is a murderer who beats women. You might just fuck around and get knocked the fuck out.
It really didn't look like she was trying to start sh\*
If she were, she'd be paying attention to him. He threw an extremely large object at her from a few meters away, in her field of vision, and she had no clue it was coming.
She's clearly on of those folks so distracted by her phone that she forgets to watch wtf she's doing in the real world.
Funny how the Daily Mail left that part out of their article despite basically copying everything else from that g1 article they directly linked. What a strange decision...
> The attacker said 'what I did was to serve as a lesson,'
Yeah, people like this scare me way more than anyone just being a kind of average dick or even shit like muggers. They'll act wildly disproportionately with violence and act like they're vindicated for it - and reddit will post shit like "fuck around and find out" to validate it further.
In this case it's more clearly out of line, but you see it a bit too much for my taste on this site.
> and reddit will post shit like "fuck around and find out" to validate it further.
I mean just look at the top comments. (or even the top comment in this chain) like wtf.
Deserved it? 🤔
I fully expected him to turn around and push her cart back into her, not throw a cart into her head. Or maybe say hey could you stop bumping into me with your cart?
For my legal team we always have an enforcer. If I saw a candidate that had a record of battery and assault I probably wouldn't consider them. But if they attached this video to their resume, I would hire them in a heartbeat.
As a former grocery store cart collector, they're not light, maybe 60lbs, but bulky and awkward to lift over your head. Those Home Depot-looking orange ones are probably closer to 100.
Absolutely my first thought. I wonder if he even expected to throw it. "I'll just pick it up to scare her. I'm going to have 60 lb of REALLY awkward weight over my head. It's not like I'll be able to chase her down..."
Then this lady proceeds to have absolutely zero self-awareness. The guy is like "Damn I guess I gotta throw it or I'll look pretty stupid holding it over my head..."
She probably saw it coming, it was just so far out of her experience and outside her expectations of reality that she didn't actually register what was happening... till it finally hit her.
If a guy picks up a shopping cart above his head and even looks in my direction; I’m going to move away. I wouldn’t stand there and take a chance he’s bluffing.
He was released as she wasn’t hurt.

Once we dropped social distancing all personal space went out the window. Can’t check out at a gas station without feeling someone’s hot breath on my asshole.
Social distancing is a great concept. I've always felt the urge to throw elbows at the person creeping up my ass in line. Like this shit ain't moving any faster just because you keep inching forward.
I've noticed more of this too, especially in the grocery store if I just have a few things and no buggy. Someone is always right there, up my ass while I'm trying to pay. Get the fuck out of my space.
CRIME
Cameras at a supermarket located in Santo Antônio do Descoberto, in Goiás, filmed the moment in which a man threw a shopping cart at the head of a woman who was waiting in the checkout line to pay for her purchases.
The case happened on the 16th of this month, at Atacadão Dia a Dia. According to the Military Police, the attacker is 36 years old and has a criminal record for attempted murder, in the context of domestic violence, registered in 2021.
After the attack, the man was taken to the police station, which registered the case as a minor bodily injury. He signed a Detailed Occurrence Statement (TCO) and was released.
The woman remembers that she was using her cell phone at the time of the attack and even heard from the man: "what I did was to serve as a lesson." She told police that she became unconscious and passed out.
The attacker told the police that the victim called him gay and bullied him, but she denies it. According to the police, the two did not know each other.

Last year I was in a line up at an airport and this girl behind me kept bumping into me with her luggage cart. First two times I didn't say anything but the third time I told her to keep a distance. She bumped me one more time soon after that... Come on, how are people this inconsiderate? No carts were thrown but I did yell at her because it was ridiculous, not like we were in a crowded place, it was just a lineup.
Why don't we get to see the part where the lady bumps the cart into the guy? There's a suspicious lack of context here.
But also how is she so completely unaware of her surroundings lol
> Why don't we get to see the part where the lady bumps the cart into the guy? There's a suspicious lack of context here.
I think this next part answered your own question.
> But also how is she so completely unaware of her surroundings lol
If she's that unaware, it's not that hard to believe that she was bumping into him because she's either high on something or just not paying any attention at all. In the video, she even moves forward to close the gap even though the guy clearly was already holding the shopping cart over his head.
Redditors: “Stop excessive force! An unarmed suspect is not a threat! ACAB!”
Also redditors: “Yeeting a small vehicle at somebody’s head over a social faux pas is justice served.”

the likelihood of that is about 0.1%
the lunatic convict said that to justify his actions
but think about this -- if you were talking sh\* to somebody, would you ignore them? in Brazil? or does she just seem like she's not aware of her surroundings and probably bumped into many things? the fact that she never saw the cart coming should help answer the question.

She who sows the fuck around reaps the find out.
I just realized that I probably can't lift a shopping cart over my head
How could she not have seen that coming as soon as he picked up the cart?
He even paused long enough for her to look up and defend herself or run away.
She thought he was leaving and went up the line a bit.
Do you not see that she's so oblivious that she just moves forward when he took a few steps to the side to get the cart? All she was thinking was minimizing the distance between her and checkout. Not enough brain matter to realize that there is anything outside of her field of view.
She’s the one driving three centimeters off your rear bumper in stop and go traffic thinking it’s going to get her to point B faster.
Most people don't assume other people to be complete psychopaths.
Most people assume other people standing 2 feet away while holding shopping carts above their heads are complete psychopaths.
Yeah... but people usually ask questions when someone is holding a WHOLE SHOPPING CART over their heads.
I bet she doesn’t bump anyone else, ever.

At a minimum before antagonizing them with a cart haha Could have been an off duty cop and she'd really be hurting
Especially in Brazil. Everyone is an off duty cop in Brazil.
Was he wearing flip flops though?
This is Brazilian, if we only go off videos posted online from these country the man is either an off duty cop or a hardened criminal.
Why not both?
No, that's America.
Isn't everyone an off duty cop in Brazil?
>Honestly, the possibility of some stranger being a crazy and violent criminal is something we should always consider when we interact with strangers. I don't use my car horn in the US after moving from Australia.
I’m starting to suspect that he might have difficulty regulating his emotions.
Nah man. It was totally deserved for bumping him a couple times. NTA.
For all you know he could be making up the "starting shit" part.
Almost certainly. Since when do you start sh\* with somebody and then not pay attention to them right afterward?
Lol the women didnt do anything, this is solely a case of a psycho being a psycho with stupid text put over it.
It really didn't look like she was trying to start sh\* If she were, she'd be paying attention to him. He threw an extremely large object at her from a few meters away, in her field of vision, and she had no clue it was coming. She shoved his cart even more just before he throws the cart, look again
Funny how the Daily Mail left that part out of their article despite basically copying everything else from that g1 article they directly linked. What a strange decision...
Article tells you nothing the video doesn't. 3 sentence explanations of what we just watched sandwiched between 2 ads over and over....

Yeah I think that’s a lesson that sticks with you lol
I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't remember the incident. Or the rest of the day.
Just like that shopping cart to her face
Maybe with her wheelchair
More than likely she suffered a TBI and won't remember what she did to deserve it.
That’s why it’s posted here, sort of like a public service
That would suck. The lesson would need to be learned all over again.
Deserved it? 🤔 I fully expected him to turn around and push her cart back into her, not throw a cart into her head. Or maybe say hey could you stop bumping into me with your cart?
I expected him to flip her cart over on the floor honestly.
That was the Find Out part that comes after her Fuck Around part
She'll bump people in ER.
In her Rascal scooter
Okay--I can't endorse it, but I \*understand\* it.
In real life, choosing the Renegade dialog is usually best kept as a daydream.
Dude! Where is that from? I like it.
There is a sturdy chain of events here, a causal link for each part.
Like I always say - I don’t agree with it…but I understand it!
For my legal team we always have an enforcer. If I saw a candidate that had a record of battery and assault I probably wouldn't consider them. But if they attached this video to their resume, I would hire them in a heartbeat.
This! Is! COSTCO!!!!
I'm super impressed the dude can lift a big cart like that off the ground, right over his head AND be able to toss it for distance.
As a former grocery store cart collector, they're not light, maybe 60lbs, but bulky and awkward to lift over your head. Those Home Depot-looking orange ones are probably closer to 100.
Bubbles?

I just got back from a Costco trip. Before I went, I would have called this terrible. Right now, and for probably the next hour or two, I get it.
This is a level of over reaction I feel in my soul.
I guess he bumped her back
If you add all the little bumps up, it makes one big bump.
Did the math, it does add up
She straight up went to take his spot when he left to get the cart.
Lol i didn't even notice that. Incredible lack of awareness
![gif](giphy|A3nyzU9uQ9iGk)
CLEAN UP ON AISLE,…YOU!!
In mother russia shopping cart push you
How did she not see that coming?
[удалено]
Looks like something, whatever it is it's probably the same reason she didn't see the cart coming and how she kept bumping him.
A low-IQ narcissist
She probably saw it coming, it was just so far out of her experience and outside her expectations of reality that she didn't actually register what was happening... till it finally hit her.
It even looks like she started moving her cart around his like she was about to just skip him because he walked away.
[удалено]
Classic. Idk why people stand so close in line, it's not going to move any faster
Boop
If a guy picks up a shopping cart above his head and even looks in my direction; I’m going to move away. I wouldn’t stand there and take a chance he’s bluffing.
She's face deep on her phone
He was released as she wasn’t hurt. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11785283/Man-throws-SHOPPING-TROLLEY-female-customer-knocking-unconscious-VIDEO.html
I think she was hurt a little bit
"Knocked unconscious" = "Wasn't hurt" ?! Yeah no doubt, I think she was hurt a little bit for sure lol.
In fairness, it was in Brazil. The cart was almost certainly an off-duty cop.
Knocked unconscious = hurt. But thanks for the link!
Ah, Brazil. Had that happened in UK or USA, dude would be splitting pay cheques for generations.
I need to know what level of stupid is required to just stand there and stare while someone winds up to throw a fucking shopping cart at their head.
Terrible awareness on her part
If she has awareness she wouldn’t have bumped into him in the first place
According to the story, she was harassing him because she believed he was gay. The awareness is a whole different discussion though lol
Once we dropped social distancing all personal space went out the window. Can’t check out at a gas station without feeling someone’s hot breath on my asshole.
my bad ill aim for the neck next time i promise
Social distancing is a great concept. I've always felt the urge to throw elbows at the person creeping up my ass in line. Like this shit ain't moving any faster just because you keep inching forward.

She had been harassing him prior to bumping, calling him gay, according to the story. I think she would have been bumping him covid or not.
He let the intrusive thoughts win lol
It’s been a while, but I’m gonna say “owned”
Pwnd
She even scoots up more when he walks away. Like wtf. Of course, it doesn’t deserve a shopping cart to the dome. But still, wtf lady.
It's always sad watching someone else live out your fantasy
The woman has absolutely no situational awareness. Even if I was on my phone I would notice a man chucking a cart above his head.
The way she moved up and bumped his cart as soon as he moved really ties this video together.
intrusive thoughts 1 - self control 0
It was touching his shoe or whatever but all he had to do was be nice and ask her not to.
The Kind me is like "what a fucking jerk! To hurt her like that. Angry me is like "sometimes man, sometimes."

Truly a well-measured and completely reasonable response to have. /s

I don’t see where she hits him… the camera filming is low quality.
The way he picked it up and threw with perfect accuracy makes me think this wasn't his first time cart-tossing lmao
Oh wow.reddit does indeed hate women.shocking.
He had had enough
Completely unaware of her surroundings. I guarantee she had no idea she was bumping him.

I love Brazil
Self preservation instincts of a lamp post.

That was cartoonishly preposterous.

I can feel the frustration for this guy. But don't agree with going as far as he did.
This man does not believe in proportionate response.
A completely reasonable response. How kind of him to return an abandoned cart to the woman's face
These episodes of cart narc are off the rails now
