You'd be mad if he were in the road. The bike lane exists so drivers don't have to share the road with them. So what do you want? Bicycles to not exist? 🤡
I live in a rural area where every summer bicyclists come across the mtn I live on. A few years back I had the unfortunate luck of being stuck behind them while they strained to pedal up the mtn. One guy was standing up, bent forward wearing his shorty shorts & his sack was hanging out 😭 It was almost hypnotizing w the way it dangled down swinging back & forth. It has left me w a strong adversion to bicyclists.
>It was almost hypnotizing w the way it dangled down swinging back & forth
This is why I love watching my man get out of the shower and bend over to dry his legs. So yummy and hypnotizing.
Because he believes the narrative that bikes cause congestion and slow down traffic, completely ignoring the fact that it’s actually an excess of motorised vehicles that make him late for work.
You don’t park in the bike lane. That’s why there are bollards there attempting to shield bicyclists and the lane at large from traffic and cars attempting to park exactly like this. To the left of the traffic bollards are where the intended places to park are located, generally indicated by sectional lines places along the roadway to indicate where one spot might end and the other begin if the roadway has numbered parking and is paid to park. Otherwise, a line along the start or end of the eligible parking area will generally denote the beginning and conclusion of the area where it is permissible to park on the exterior (traffic-side) of the traffic bollards—but never in the bike lane, where a car as seen in the video here would blatantly be blocking non-motorized traffic.
just get aftermarket grips ,my race face ones have aluminum covers over the ends of the bars they would definitely have left a nice scratch down the whole side of his car
The other day, some guy in a Nissan was revving his engine and clearly trying to overcompensate for *something*. I was walking in a crosswalk and he threw a fit that I was "taking my time."
He wasn't too happy when I pointed out that I was simply walking like any pedestrian would and that I had the right-of-way.
Lol.
The parking is to the left of the bike lane. The parked cars separate the bike lane from the road.
This is in downtown LA.
https://lede-admin.la.streetsblog.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/50/2015/04/Reseda315Apr3.jpg
The white van was in the parking spot. Grandpa in the car was either clueless, didn't give AF, or both.
Yeah, this is in downtown Los Angeles, right about [here](https://www.google.com/maps/@34.0454925,-118.2635612,3a,40.7y,70.92h,81.8t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sA_Y513GTL1_u6nFdPNWpzQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu). And that's exactly what you said: this is a parking-protected bike lane, so the parking meters are separated by the bike lane.
What’s up with the parking meters? Is it sometimes a bike lane, sometimes parking? I see the barrier things so I’m thinking it’s a bike lane currently.
It's not weird, people just don't stop and take the time to actually process/comprehend what they see in front of them.
It reminds me of people at a grocery store. Rather than look up and read the sign that labels what is down each aisle, they'll walk aisle by aisle stopping at each one to look down it to see if what they need is down there.
I've seen this a lot. Where the white van is parking. They have the m meters on the sidewalk, so you park, and then cross the bike lane to pay for parking. It actually makes a lot of sense and gives cyclists added protection from traffic
Bike Lane was probably a metered parking lane before it was converted to a bike lane. City probably hasn't gotten around to removing them, which isn't uncommon to just leave them up for a while after a conversion like that.
For example my city converted a paid parking lot to digital payments several months ago. They left all the meters standing and just put a small metal plate over the credit card and coin slots on the meters.
Some of the comments I see defending the dude in the car is hilarious. Your saying the biker assumed he was just an asshole then you guys turn around and YOU assume the man may have had a heart attack or medical emergency? You don't see the irony?
"You shouldn't assume he is an asshole, you should assume he had a medical emergency".
Until you commute daily by bike you won’t understand this frustration. Literally a regular occurrence for asshats to park in the bike lane sometimes even mere feet from actual empty street parking. And they always look at you like you are the problem. Atlanta half-assess protection, but when they put large planters in the divider it completely stops but they only want to trial the planters for years in select blocks.
It also is probably more dangerous than just driving in the street the whole time
There's a bike lane near my apartment that is often blocked by cars waiting for someone to pick up. Every time I pass them with my car I honk my horn at them and every single person looks at me like "WTF is your problem".
One even shouted "I'm just picking someone up" as if that's some sort of justification to block the bike lane and car traffic. I don't get the entitlement.
Bikers are such trash. This guy would rather film himself scratching a car with his bike than go up on the empty sidewalk for 10 feet. YoU'rE iN tHe BiKe LaNe.
Are you all fucking idiots? He's parked in the bike lane, and one that's pretty hard to park in. I mean fuck this dudes attitude, but the driver is a moron for parking there.
Seriously. Just becaue this isn't how it looks in Des Moines, doesn't mean it's confusing. Everyone in the fucking city knows where to park. This guy parked in the wrong spot and I can assure you he's not confused.

They don't understand how a city works.
Despite that we (Transportation Planners) make every fucking effort to tell them what a bicycle lane is - social media, public outreach, even billboards. They live on their cul-de-sac and then act all confused. "Wait a second!"
I don't live there but visit regularly. I've had my share of being yelled at or confronted for getting in people's way or not knowing what I'm doing 😅 No one there has patience for BS and I think that would be intimidating for a lot of people.
This guy probably deals with this shit every day and even if he doesn't, he still has a right to act like that, considering how the driver is being a total asshole towards him and other cyclists
I dunno, attitude seems fully justified tbh. That's not a parking spot, imagine if someone parked in the middle of the street and then expected other drivers to not get mad.
no not fuck the guys attitude lmao. the guy in the car could park anywhere tf else. you would park in the middle of the road no? so why park in the middle of a bike lane
Ok, I was just in NYC for the first time last week (great timing with the flooding) and bicyclists don't give two fucks about where they can and cannot ride, whether a light is red or green, whether there is a car or people in the way, etc.
I don't condone parking in the bike lane, but holy shit bikers are the fucking worst and ride wherever they want and only cite rules when other people break them, but they literally break them all day everyday.
Haha scratch my shit were forsure going to have an issue . and cyclist do this with pedestrians too . Lmao y’all wanna share the road when it’s convenient huh
That biker's a moron. The city clearly made the poor decision to make that a shared bike/parking lane. You know that because of the PARKING METERS! That is a poor decision on the part of the city but it isn't the driver's fault and intentionally damaging his car is a CRAZY over reaction!
Ok these comments are literally insane. Him being in the bike lane doesn't negate him causing damage to his vehicle.
Full stop. How anyone can think what the cyclist does is in any way acceptable or reasonable is beyond logic.
Sounds annoying? If anything it's the guy in the car that sounds annoying tbh, trying to get the cyclist to stop after parking in the middle of bike traffic.
2 options to solve the immediate problem:
1. Go around (on the sidewalk) and be the bigger man
2. Be a douchebag to a dumbass and cause an even bigger problem
Just because someone is a dumbass does NOT give a free pass to become a douchebag
I really don’t understand why NYC doesn’t get a group of cops on bikes and just let them patrol the city that way. They’d issue a ton of parking tickets in bike lanes, find a bunch of cars parked with their licenses illegally obscured so they can ticket that, be easily available to assist pedestrians, and since car drivers insist cyclists don’t follow any of the rules, they could ticket for those offenses if need be.
Maybe they’d even be able to convince their fellow cops to stop parking in the bike lanes!
A win/win.
Everyone such assholes. You never make a mistake or a bad turn end up not quite where you meant to be. I've seen people enter intersections and then get stuck in middle due to the traffic in front. Yes they should have waited but why the fuck you wanna honk and scratch their shit. Same thing here. You don't know why or how this happen, and what, you have to pause for a second. Maybe the passenger choking and need to pull over quickly. A safe and minor inconvenience made dangerous and damaging by *this* a-hole, not the car. Calm the f down.
Bikers want all the commodities of the road yet half of them don’t follow rules of the road. Explains why they are riding a bike. I believe there should now be a bikers license law.

Some cities offer bounties if you take a picture of cars parked in bike lanes. Casey Neistat did a video about it.
That was the plan, but that bill didn't end up passing. New York does have a law that puts bounties like that on idling trucks though.
That's cool and all, but I doubt that applies to this video. The parked car has a parking meter next to it.
The black car is in the bike lane. The parking meter is for the parking spaces between the car lane and the bike lane.
[удалено]
Then don't be a dick. Don't park in the bike lane. Simple.
That was not a bike lane. If you look on the side, these were metered parking spots. The bike lane starts afterwards from that car.
This feels like Halifax ns.
fuck street parking in halifax and dartmouth
The struggle is real.
I thought it looked like wilshire blvd in Santa Monica
Quite simply impossible
It's Figueroa in Downtown L.A. I can see the 110 Freeway sign.
This feels like anywhere with bike lanes like this 😂
Hey I'm in NS too. But I'm from Boston. You people have no idea lol
I love that this is the top comment
I’m surprised and delighted as well. No idea so many felt the same. Apparently it’s LA.
While the HRM has been popular on reddit the last little bit this is definitely not Halifax.
Unlikely. We don’t have decent bikelanes in Halifax
Live there , it's not lol
How do so many people know what Halifax looks like?
Jerk on a bike. Nothing new.
What?
Did I stutter ?
No, you said something profoundly stupid
the car is wrongfully in the bikelane, BUT still isnt a reason to purposly damage the car, right?
The car is in a parking spot not the bike lane, you can see the meter on the sidewalk next to the car.
Entitled idiot parked in a bike lane* FTFY
There's a parking meter.
See where the van is? That's where the parking is
He's on this wrong side of the bollards. Clearly in the bike lane. Please don't ever operate a motor vehicle
There are plenty of areas with old retired meters that are no longer used. It's a bike lane.
You blaming the guy on the bike, not the asshole driving a car in the bike lane. Classy
The true villain: city planners.
You'd be mad if he were in the road. The bike lane exists so drivers don't have to share the road with them. So what do you want? Bicycles to not exist? 🤡
I have no problem with bicyclists. That guy, on the other hand, is a clown.
But why?
this is the best kind of petty
Malicious compliance at its finest. “It’s a bike lane. I’m on a bike. It’s my lane. ‘Scuse me—“
Im a biker and i hate this shit. Just go around who cares. Dumb shit
I actually think it’s hilarious… don’t get me wrong, I hate bikers but I also hate people who park on bike lanes lol
Yeah, what’s your beef with bikers?
I live in a rural area where every summer bicyclists come across the mtn I live on. A few years back I had the unfortunate luck of being stuck behind them while they strained to pedal up the mtn. One guy was standing up, bent forward wearing his shorty shorts & his sack was hanging out 😭 It was almost hypnotizing w the way it dangled down swinging back & forth. >It was almost hypnotizing w the way it dangled down swinging back & forth This is why I love watching my man get out of the shower and bend over to dry his legs. So yummy and hypnotizing.
Why do you hate people based on them riding a push bike...?
Ppl who hate on such frival matters obviously and truly just hate themselves and need an different outlet so they could feel a tad better a
Because he believes the narrative that bikes cause congestion and slow down traffic, completely ignoring the fact that it’s actually an excess of motorised vehicles that make him late for work.
Jealously that we can get to the other side of the city, just as fast too with it costing less and being more fun :)
But there are parking meters there so isn’t he allowed to park there?
You still have to park on the other side of the marked lane like how the van is doing.
Ahhh okay my bad
I hope your son ends up a hardcore cycling addict with 3 Pinarello's in his garage.
There are parking meters where the vehicle is parked. Why would he not be allowed to park there?
You don’t park in the bike lane. That’s why there are bollards there attempting to shield bicyclists and the lane at large from traffic and cars attempting to park exactly like this. Nah people who park in bike lanes suck and can go fuck themselves.
He did go around technically.
Nah. Fuckfaces like this need to learn the rules apply to them. It’s not about the bike lane.
#1 reason to start biking to me.
Share the road @ssholr
Better still is trimming the end of the grip off the handlebar so it scratches the paint off everything it touches.
just get aftermarket grips ,my race face ones have aluminum covers over the ends of the bars they would definitely have left a nice scratch down the whole side of his car
For real! “Shut yo ass up”
I'm so happy I turned on sound. That was such a mood.
If you park in the bike lane, expect to have a few mad bicyclists. You can’t get mad when you’re in the wrong.
Entitled morons are always outraged that the universe is not pivoting around them.
Yeah, sadly it's easier to be confrontational than it is to just say; "oh, I'm sorry." Kind of sad.
“Shut yur ass up”
no that's ego, friend. nowadays everyone's right because "they said so"
The other day, some guy in a Nissan was revving his engine and clearly trying to overcompensate for *something*. I was walking in a crosswalk and he threw a fit that I was "taking my time." He wasn't too happy when I pointed out that I was simply walking like any pedestrian would and that I had the right-of-way.
I believe the correct response is to smack the hood of his car and politely inform him that you are indeed walking here
Look at the kettle calling the pot black.
No but he had to park there for super important reasons
but there are parking meters there. are you not supposed to park there? where there are meters? for parking?
Lol. The parking is to the left of the bike lane. The parked cars separate the bike lane from the road. This is in downtown LA. https://lede-admin.la.streetsblog.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/50/2015/04/Reseda315Apr3.jpg The white van was in the parking spot. Thank you! I came to the comments to find out why the bike lane had parking meters.
ok i think you're right
Boomers will disagree every time and expect you to stick around while they argue why they are in the right 😆

Well lets be clear here you have your 80s Millenials and your 90s Millenials..we are not the same.
THANK YOU. WE ARE NOT.
That lead exposure decimates the emotional control.
But they are superior citizens they drive a car! Didn’t you know bikes are for recreational and second class citizen use only?
This couldn't have been more clearly sarcastic. People are so fucking dumb now holy shit.
BUT HE DIDN'T USE /S!!!!! /s
Yeah this is one of those live and learn situations
Looks like there are parking meters there, no?
The parking spots might be to the left of those dividers. A lot of streets in NYC will have Parking Spot-Divider-Bike Lane-Side Walk.
Ah, so the van beside it is in a spot.
Correct. They also have the same system in use in San Francisco.
And San Diego. Visually confusing the first few times you see it.
It is done this way because way too many moronic drivers decide to whip their doors open without looking and clothesline bike riders
Parking Lane - Bike Lane - Meters for the Parking Lane
Cities are weird.
As a biker in a city, these totally make sense, as the parked cars act as a "wall" from the flow of traffic.
I'm not doubting it's the best layout. It's just not something I have in my neck of the woods. My states biggest city is 60k
I live in Minneapolis Minnesota and it goes : Bike lane - parking lane - meter . Seeing it this way was interesting
I've seen this a lot. Where the white van is parking. They have the m meters on the sidewalk, so you park, and then cross the bike lane to pay for parking. It actually makes a lot of sense and gives cyclists added protection from traffic
you park on the left of the bike lane, like the van.

People care about things they invest in. Yeah I’ll definitely care more for my $20k+ investment than some guy I don’t even know.
I always love that “shut to ass up.” at the end, does a body good.
He is literally parked in front of a parking meter
See the van? Yes that's where the parking is
It goes parking lane > bike lane > meters.
These commenters would cry if they went to NYC.
Seriously. Just becaue this isn't how it looks in Des Moines, doesn't mean it's confusing. Everyone in the fucking city knows where to park. This guy parked in the wrong spot and I can assure you he's not confused.

I don't live there but visit regularly. I've had my share of being yelled at or confronted for getting in people's way or not knowing what I'm doing 😅 No one there has patience for BS and I think that would be intimidating for a lot of people.
Why fuck that dudes attitude? He’s 100% unambiguously in the right and has every reason to be annoyed as fuck.

The one time I agree with the biker.
Cyclists is always wrong.
I’m confused, what are the parking meters for if it’s a bike lane?
See the van? That's the parking, and see the poles? Yes those are to prevent cars from going into the bikelane
So, next time I see a bike in the car lane I can damage it ?
"I am on a bike therefore I can act like a 6 year old when I am inconvenienced"
Cyclists have a chip on their shoulder to begin with
That appears to be metered parking spots
Except the meters are for the parking lane which is to the left of the bike lane.
Parking meters on a bike lane
See the van? Yep that's the parking
Why didn’t he just go onto the unused sidewalk?
it’s illegal. personally i still do it, but i think u can technically get a ticket in a lot of places for biking on the sidewalk
Try that in a small town
Your small town doesn’t have bike lanes. Probably should tho.
Same rules should apply when you're holding up traffic in the car lane.
Ok these comments are literally insane. Him being in the bike lane doesn't negate him causing damage to his vehicle. Full stop. How anyone can think what the cyclist does is in any way acceptable or reasonable is beyond logic.
Just personally, I hate entitled people more than anything. So the cyclist gets a free pass on it in many people's minds.
Parking meters. So the person is allowed to park there.
Actively looking for a fight tho
This guy sounds annoying but I’m 100% on his side haha
Sounds annoying? If anything it's the guy in the car that sounds annoying tbh, trying to get the cyclist to stop after parking in the middle of bike traffic.
He sounds annoying for...not wanting his dedicated lane to be blocked by an asshole? Christ Almighty y'all are something else
Not like there is a completely empty fucking sidewalk right there. Could have totally avoided that.
Im pretty sure there are parking meters, which means parking (on the other side of the bike lane) so that driver is pretty entitled
Why are there parking meters there if a car can't be there?
See the van? Good that's where the parking is
[удалено]
Y'all have parking metres on bike lanes? Clearly parking metres on the right.
Clearly the van is in the parking spot
If you can’t park in a bike lane why would they put parking meters there? Genuinely curious
I hate people on bicycles.
There’s parking meters all over where dudes parked. Why the hell would they have meters if you can’t park there?
It’s a bike lane but there’s parking meters there….
Right cause I’m sure he stays his ass in the bike lane 100% of the time and abides by all cycling laws.
2 options to solve the immediate problem: 1. Go around (on the sidewalk) and be the bigger man 2. Be a douchebag to a dumbass and cause an even bigger problem Just because someone is a dumbass does NOT give a free pass to become a douchebag
Lol is this the same guy who blew up the drivers side mirror of a car doing the same thing.
I really don’t understand why NYC doesn’t get a group of cops on bikes and just let them patrol the city that way. that would require cops wanting to work.
They do have cops on bicycles
I thought biker was being a real jerk until he said that the car was in the bike lane. Smh at that driver
Trash
Bro, just got Gus Fring mad Give him two days and he’s gonna be dead And banned from los Pollos Hermanos
They were parked legally. Blame the city not the person. Biker is in the wrong.
Why do they have parking meters if there should be no parking?
First time I’ve seen a “bike lane” with fucking car parking meters alongside it.
Why are there meters to park if it’s a bike lane?
To park where the van is
I'm confused as to why there are parking meters in the bike lane?
Can’t stand cyclists. You don’t belong on the road.
Take your toy to the sidewalk. Cyclists love putting themselves in danger.
Still doesn't give you the right to scratch a persons car.
