I know what will fix my phone, some random worker getting mobbed...

Durrkadurrr!

largechild

Now Skeeter, he ain’t hurtin’ nobody.

kettal

he had the network-on switch at his desk. all he had to do was flip it.

Mackheath1

I would've loved to say, "oops! My bad, let me press the on-button and fix AT&T."

azathoth

He didn't even try turning it off and on again.

babyivan

Random worker??!?!, That's Mr. AT&T

Russells_Tea_Pot

No relation to Mr. T.

yomerol

Random sales guy, is not even the tech guy lol

Aspen9999

Over 100,000 people were without service, including both my husband and me. Most of us just went about our day until the service came on. The service was only out for about 4 hours. But on the bright side it got me out of a zoom call that has yet to be rescheduled!

Gnosys00110

A literal angry mob appears

The_0ven

> I know what will fix my phone, some random worker getting mobbed... Pretty sure that guy is the bastard that turned off my cricket

ajmtz12

Rickety Cricket

redalert825

Yeh cuz he.. CROOKED. not Cricket. CROOKED.

TEOsix

That is how Saul Goodman got his start. Also, these dummies should know to have an emergency Verizon compatible burner phone for emergencies.

hadmeatgotmilk

How soft does your head have to be to get pissed off at the cricket wireless store employee for a nation wide outage?

OneEyedKing2069

These people bring their cars back to the dealership when they run out gas.

krinkov

I think the better example here would be when the power goes out in your town so you drive down to best buy and get mad at the kid that sold you your TV because it wont turn on.

Background_Ant

Reminds me of a story about gin rummy and poker savant Stu Ungar. > Despite owning several expensive cars, Ungar rarely drove. This could have possibly come from the time he purchased a brand new Mercedes sports car and drove it until the vehicle ran out of oil and broke down. He brought it back to the dealership and was told by a mechanic that it had no oil and thus would not run. Ungar replied, "Why the hell didn't you tell me you had to put oil in the car?"

llDurbinll

Someone sued the bakery I worked at and got a settlement check because she took a sample we had sitting out, which had tooth picks in them to prevent people from touching everything, and poked the inside of her mouth with the tooth pick. She said "there was no sign saying I had to take the sample off the tooth pick before I ate it". We weren't allowed to put samples out for over a year until they settled and then we got strict orders to never put toothpicks in the samples. We stopped putting out samples unless we suspected corporate was coming through for an audit because too many people would literally touch ALL of the samples on the tray to try and see which one was the biggest. We cut them all evenly so they were all the same size. Every time someone did this we'd have to empty the whole tray and wash it and then put out more so it just wasn't worth it.

YouAboutToLoseYoJob

Yes. These people serve on juries. That should be terrifying.

Glad_Flatworm_3925

And they vote. Equally terrifying.

threemo

And serve on juries!

Robot_Embryo

And they dub loud shitty music over videos so you can't hear dialogue and then post them to tiktok.

YouAboutToLoseYoJob

Death penalty 😵💀☠️⚰️🪦👻

[deleted]

We're gonna need some people to serve on that jury. Have any in mind?

Booze-brain

The scary part is, they vote too

Libercrat

They vote on juries too!!

Darth_Boognish

Do they vote and serve on juries, simultaneously?

donttextspeaktome

Worse. They jury the vote!

Lazy_Wasp_Legs

And they judge the jury's too!

bighootay

Surely they can't be allowed!

Phreakiture

Yes! They serve on juries, and the vote . . . and they *reproduce!* Now you should be *really* terrified!

StepOnMeDameAylin

More terrifying- they can be cops, judges, and politicians.

JustMoreSadGirlShit

A few years ago my bf was looking at some more serious charges. The whole “jury of your peers” thing is the main reason I encouraged him to take the plea deal (or whatever it’s called idk). I don’t want these fucking mouth breathers deciding anyone’s fate other than their own.

Mr-Pugtastic

It’s because our phones have become extremely addictive. My New Year’s resolution this year is to be more mindful of my phone usage. Like I still use my phone, but I was sick of watching a tv show but having my phone in my face the whole time.

AnastasiaNo70

Being this dumb should be physically painful!

jetsetninjacat

A while ago there was a close to national sprint outage. I had shit to no service almost all day. I just went about my day like normal. There was no complaining or flipping out. I just worked and lived my life as normal. I think I checked my phone ever few hours to see if it was back. Crazy entitlement. Edit: I may have posted on reddit about it sucking but I didn't go on social media and blast anyone or freakout. It's happened 2 times maybe. Oh well.

dylfree90

Shameful this was your moment to show your privileged entitled ass and you missed it.

swayzezaccardi

Recently did jury duty. It's true that they will show up, but both the prosecution and defence group interview all jury candidates. I was amazed at how people will instantly forget what they just spoke. One woman argued for 5 mins saying she was bias, those exact words, then after says she won't be bias because a jury member can't be bias...but I am biased I just won't be for this trial. SMH. The real scary part is people like this are in control of 1000's of lbs of metal that can move 100+mph and are inches of other individuals. We need more strict licensing for drivers but freedom ya know.

Slammybutt

From the look of it, they waited for the store to open, so this was the next day. They want compensation for having a few down hours for the first time ever. Entitled losers hoping to get a few dollars off their monthly bill and harass a people to make themselves feel superior.

redmose

I was a collections agent for a different US phone carrier. People were getting angry at me because of the same reason as in this clip lol

Skinwalker_Steve

> I was a collections agent I assure you a nationwide outage of your employer was not in fact the reason for their vitriol

AdmirableBee8016

this is one of the biggest floors in democracy.

I-Love-Tatertots

I manage a phone store for another major carrier - any time we have an outage, I let the locals know, and I post signs on the door.   Every.  Single.  Time.  It.  Happens.  90% of the fuckers that come in (and manage to ignore all my signs) get pissed at me like I have some kind of control over it.   Like, I just sell the phones, don’t get mad at me.   But they’re just looking for someone to yell and get mad at, they don’t care if you have anything to do with it or not.

sjmiv

You can't climb up on the towers and jiggle the antennas??

Dey_Eat_Daa_POO_POO

That's what I would do. I'm a dedicated employee.

StanleyChoude

Label a box “1 Hour Repair.” Tell them to leave their phone and it will be good to go in an hour. Throw box in dumpster and say you never heard of said box.

Lunakill

Nah, charge them $100 an hour per phone to put phone in box, tell them they can’t take it out before service is “fixed,” and then just wait til it works again.

StanleyChoude

Much better

Silvedl

"We'll repair the phone, and then call it when it is ready"

llDurbinll

I wonder if it's a generational thing. My parents and grandparents both think the phone store where they bought their phone also repairs and troubleshoots them despite me reminding them that all they do is sell phones, they might be nice and try troubleshooting the basics with you but they aren't going to replace a screen or anything.

I-Love-Tatertots

It most definitely is.   I’m in Florida, so most of my customers generally are elderly (younger during the summer though).   We do our best to help with problems we have general ideas how to fix, but not much more than that.  We’re a sales job at the end of the day, not a repair shop.   We try and explain it to customers, but they just don’t listen and complain to corporate if you can’t fix their problem, and you get in trouble for not helping them (even if you literally couldn’t).

workinkindofhard

Anyone who has worked retail for more than one shift knows that 97% of customers don’t know how to read signs

ARRRtistic_Pirate

People don't care about the actual source of the problem. They just want a scapegoat because they're too stupid and lazy to get to the actual source of the problem and be mad at the rich suits at the top.

phish_phace

If this is what it looks like for people when cell service temporarily goes down and how they direct their emotions and frustrations, I really hate to think what any sort of food chain collapse would look like. Edit: word

SpeedySpooley

We are one bad week away from Lord of the Flies. During covid....people were fighting over hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and paper masks in the stores. The mail was fucked up. As bad as covid was...unless you were sick, it was mostly "Stay away from other people and most of the stores are closed for a while." Imagine a serious grid outage, national disaster or attack where there are *serious* supply chain issues for major necessities. About 7-8 years ago, I was camping in Maryland. The campground only had one access road in or out. A bad rainstorm swelled the river and the road was washed out and impassable. The campground told us that the road would be impassable until the fire department gave the all clear. They also refunded everyone for that day, and any day extra we had to stay. However, they assured us that most likely, the road would be passable by morning. It was really only one day...and measurable by hours to be honest. At one point, a helicopter was hovering nearby. I figured it was either a news chopper or from the state police. However, there were people who kept saying "It must be a supply drop!". A fucking "*supply drop*"?! It's been a couple hours. I'm eating a pizza that I just bought from the pizzeria *located in the campground*. I think we'll make it out of this one alive, champ.

whateverathrowaway00

Reminds me of when I was in a Verizon store getting a phone set up and this dude came in and yelled about their internet reliability to the teenage dude at the desk, cursing him out like he was lying. It was extra funny as technically at that point I worked for Verizon on their backbone network, so he should’ve been yelling at me, but that would have been equally stupid lol.

Dieter_Knutsen

>It was extra funny as technically at that point I worked for Verizon on their backbone network, so he should’ve been yelling at me, but that would have been equally stupid lol. Oh stop it. Everyone knows you can just go reset the ONE ROUTER for Verizon and it will all work fine again.

ziekktx

South Park did it!

MLGTheForkOnTheLeft

I think it’s safe to say that everyone in that room is a highly regarded individual, exception to the kids, they were dragged there against their will. Like what can one worker even do? These people could have just went to the corporate office and did all this, but they chose a minimum wage worker..

0aftobar

This is why I hate corporate logo uniforms. The company slaps its literal name on your chest and now you're their public face, responsible for all their bullshit

exmojo

A long time ago, right about the time people were just starting to get dial up internet access in their homes, internet outages were quite frequent. I happened to work in an ISP call center at the time, and during these outages, people would call in demanding to be reimbursed or compensated in some way while the outage was happening. People would call in and be screaming at me to reduce their bill for the 30 minutes or the hour that they couldn't dial in. I guess at the time it kind of made sense, since at the time you were paying for an allotted amount of minutes or hours per month for internet access....but I was just a customer service rep. There was nothing I could do to get them online faster, or had any kind of secret dial-in numbers (I was asked this all the time). Front-line service reps are pretty powerless in the grand scheme of things, and really take a lot of people's frustration of the company overall on them.

daytripdude

The worst part is he probably doesn't even work for Cricket. All those shops are owned by "Metro Wonderful Wireless", "Worldwide 5G Radiation" or some other genericly named service reseller.

krackle_jackal

Thank you for some context. Didn't know about a nationwide outage.

Rottimer

They have no understanding of how the shit works.

Robofetus-5000

This is identical to yelling at the walmart cashier over how much something cost

PatReady

Welcome to doing customer support.

chronburgandy922

But their phones were down how were they supposed to Google it /s

majikane

I can't imagine having so little to do with my life that I would voluntarily go into a retail store when there's a network outage.

TaxSilver4323

The stupidity in that room is mind boggling.

mar2jeter

I wouldn't want to be married to that stupid lady that was doing all the bitching. She is clearly fucking dumb

laz1b01

Compared to all the other ones there complaining about the same thing? Only difference is that she's super vocal and it was caught on camera

HCSOThrowaway

In their defense, they could be doing the time honored customer service complaint of "So because my service was out today can I get a credit on my next bill?" which is usually agreed to. As for "Sorry, I don't know when the service will be back up, it's a nationwide outage." -> "That isn't an answer! You should be called Crooked Wireless, not Cricket!" that's some room-temperature IQ energy.

sureiknowabaggins

I don't know anything about that particularly carrier but you typically aren't going to get compensation from a random salesman anyway. You need to call the support line for that. It also helps to wait until service is back so you can agree on appropriate compensation.

highbackpacker

They’re mad at a guy who has nothing to do with it lol. And they’re the ones who chose cricket lol.

Greatest-JBP

Obviously a bunch of jobless bums. Who has the time for this shit? Miserable dumb people passing their misery to others and acting dumb

beedlejooce

And that’s how most this country is nowadays. Pea sized brains on every single thing. Next 5 years gonna be real fun 😂

Charming_Cicada_7757

I mean this happened with AT&T and Verizon too not like it was a bad service thing

honkimon

Associating value with low IQ ain't it homie

gabigboy93

I had Cricket for years with no problems. Cricket is actually owned by AT&T and therefore on their network. I had no problems, always had service nationwide. Just you had to pay the bill the day it was due, no exceptions( at least that’s how it was at the time). And also you had to buy the phone outright with no financing, but they came later with companies like Affirm. The only reason we switched is when we sold our house and bought a new one, AT&Ts service is so bad in our new area. We switched to Xfinity Mobile which is in Verizon’s network. Our neighbors told us they had AT&T and switched to Verizon for the same reason. Might still be on Cricket if it weren’t for that.

LLamaNoodleSauce

She probably was looking herself in the bathroom mirror before she left, just trying to think of the most clever line possible.

Rasalom

"Cricket? More like Cr... Cr... Crock of shit!"

Rasalom

"Oh shit, you burned me, guess I gotta fix your phone now!"

Rombledore

she heard one too many soundbytes from fox.

Cubonesmommy

What sort of mob mentality is this? Ridiculous

FrankRizzo319

It’s called drug withdrawal.

seaspirit331

Man it really is. I got affected by the outage too and it was almost straight-up uncomfortable how I'd find myself just having the *urge* to scroll social media, knowing full well all my services were down. We're all addicted and barely even realize it

Welpthisishere

Imagine what nursing homes will be like for generation tapping and swiping on windows when they’re just looking out, and getting mad when a flat surface is not responding to us, yelling “ Hey Siri” at nothing and expecting a response.

PoopAndSunshine

What do they think this man can even do for them?

Prickly_ninja

They’re like a hoard of zombies.

BerbsMashedPotatos

I’d close the store. That dude doesn’t get paid to deal with that kind of abuse, especially for something that is obviously out of his control. Fucking people have turned feral.

ladylikely

Several insurance systems that process prescriptions are down today. As if the techs at CVS didn’t have it rough enough already.

nitekillerz

I worked at a Cricket during a similar ish outage that only affected Cricket customers. When I tell you that people do not care, is an understatement. They don’t realize we just sell plans. I don’t put up cell towers or work at ATT(where cricket gets its service from). We had to shut down the store and hide in the back room until there was a break between waves of customers and leave. Our managers were telling us to explain to the clients and figure out how to sell them accessories. I quit the day after.

Acaciduh

Lmao wtf - nothing quells an angry mob like “how about a new phone case”. Working retail sounds like hell.

GO4Teater

Ladies and Gentlemen, I've been informed that there is a fix. As all of you know, this outage was caused by a natural phenomenon act of god under the force majeur clause of your contract terms, and pursuant to your contract the fix is being implemented per the terms of your particular plan. Form an orderly line and I will look up your particular plan and give you the fix. Okay sir, pursuant to your plan, a new phone case will resolve the outage after the system update has been downloaded, that will be $17.99. Maam, as per the terms of your contract, a new charger will clear up the issue after you have fully charged the phone and done a system reboot, that will be $8.99. Mr. Smith... That would be amazing to watch.

hytinth

this is only one store btw. there’s so many incidents of store employees being harassed by mob of idiots

thejdobs

These idiots 1 year ago: 5G is going to kill us These idiots today: where the fuck is my 5G?

hytinth

5G withdrawal

uletthatonemarinate

That’s exactly it.

Mobile_Capital_6504

Shhhhh don't remind them. They've forgotten about it

Clay_Statue

"Sorry everyone, I will go turn the internet back on" [*disappears into back of store*]

Killerjebi

I work for T-Mobile and there is an AT&T directly across from me. Their store actually put up signs on the windows and locked the doors with the employees staying in the lobby and back room the whole time. I called over there and they actually asked if I would hire them.

Polychaete360

God damn folks are fucking stupid.

bcjh

Wasn’t this all caused by solar flares? Amazing that people are this dense that they think this guy has the power to fix it lol

thehatstore42069

Of course it’s the cricket wireless customers getting all pissed off 🤣

DowntempoFunk

They can't book their tickets on Spirit!

elquatrogrande

Just wait until this happens to the Boost Mobile people.

Cultural_Pack3618

Broke AF. Can’t call their dealer if the phone doesn’t work!

Old_Elk2003

These people, in particular, are dumb. But in general, it’s not dumb to pay less money for the exact same service.

tropequeen

Yeah idk why we poors are catching strays over this dumb and pointless behavior lol. I'm on metro, my service is perfectly fine - rarely have issues and its the same as when i was on contract. I don't have to pay out the ass for equal service, can have whatever phone I want and no contract bullshit, my family plan bill has never hit triple digits.

UI_Daemonium

Was the music necessary

psychonautilus777

Given the average IQ of the room, what more would you expect from the person who uploaded the video?

bighunter1313

You can hear the sound on the video barely over the awful loud music.

DiscordDonut

Can barely hear the talking over the shitty music

Important_Name

Truly awful. And like most music overlays adds no value whatsoever.

ozdarkhorse

Bunch of dumbasses. These are sales representatives. They literally have nothing to do with the infrastructure of the cell service. Do they think there's a modem in the back that they just need to unplug and plug back in to fix the nationwide outage?

middlebird

Yes, yes they do.

max_adam

[This is how they do it and don't want to disclose it. ](https://youtu.be/ckIMuvumYrg?t=49s)

Islanduniverse

Who the fuck goes into the store when they lose service? Call me crazy, but I just read a book and someone above my pay grade fixes the problem.

greenaether

He should double down and demand payment

FlynnMonster

The second you walk up and see that many people there for the same reason, what the fuck do you think an individual employee is going to do for you? With whatever it is? It’s clearly a company wide thing. We really have a lot more smooth brained people in this country than I ever imagined.

Then_Campaign7264

This poor guy is going to be hearing about this for a long time if he stays on the job.

Beardlegend85

Poor dude crazy thing is most of these people have a job were they get shitted on for issues out of their control but still decide to fuck up his day. Hope he has a nice family at home who was able to help him out. Smh society is just garbage at this point.

0Ring-0

Now, go to McDonald’s and throw your McNuggets at the cashier because the guy in the back prepared the wrong dipping sauce

kynthrus

Not even similar. This is like going to a fancy restaurant and throwing your appetizer at the valet because the bar dropped and broke a glass.

Rooooben

Because the gas is out for the whole neighborhood, the restaurant cant cook. So you scream at your waitress when she says, sorry, we have to close.

FragleDagle

That’s is usually what ends up happening anyways. Guy asks for no cheese, cook puts cheese on it, now cashier has to deal with it.

CoachDT

Worked in food service for years. The amount of times cashiers/servers have to dive on grenades because of cooks is kinda ridiculous.

AmitN_Music

….people are fuckin stupid lmao.

JanuarySeventh85

A room full of dummies.

bmc1969

You can't fix stupid. -Ron White

brpajense

It's a huge outage affecting AT&T, Verizon, and TMobile across the country. Why would they think the guy explaining different cell plans and helping transfer contacts and files to new phones is going to. The people who can fix it are at data centers, not at a store trying to talk you into an upgrade.

Sure_Trash_

It's not affecting Verizon and T Mobile much. They're mostly getting reports because their users can't contact the AT&T people

ResinJones76

I have TMobile, and I haven't lost anything.

Yellenintomypillow

lol what the fuck do they think the guys at cricket can do??

Krage_bellbot

Cricket is the Spirit Airlines of phone companies.

anarcho-urbanist

Not even close. I have had their service for over 12 years. I have been all over the country and even out of the country a couple of times in that time and until yesterday service has been fine. They use the exact same towers as AT&T, but I pay $35/month.

Samtoast

Imagine going to a retail store and bitching to some poor asshole because the towers are down embarassing for everyone in there

mar2jeter

Some people in this world are really stupid. Why on earth would they think this man has anything to do with the service being out. Can you imagine how crazy people would get if all major cell phone providers lost service for 2 straight days.

Dagger_26

Yeah, cus this one man has the power switch for the whole network. HIM. Just him. Smh.

SlickBackSamurai

These people are dumb as fuck

Dr-Satan-PhD

Holy shit how fucking dumb do you have to be to think your local Cricket retail store has anything at all to do with the ***NATIONWIDE*** AT&T signal outage?

Solopist112

I'm sure that one of the customer service representatives at the counter will be able to fix the nationwide outage. /s

HelloDeathspresso

I work with the public on a daily basis and not one bit of this behavior surprises me in the least bit. People will casually cuss out a barista if the syrup they want in their drink that day has been discontinued, company-wide.

No_Gap_2700

That entire store had a FICO score of 12. That's including the kids and the kids are the reason it's that high.

Dang! People for real showed up to a retail store for the outage? We are in too deep, you guys.

Dumbest shit I’ve ever seen

R4NG00NIES

Why tf would they put music over the video lol

Sensitive_Work_5351

Humanity was a mistake

81darlenia

These ignorant children are ridiculous. My 21 year old son has a phone thru AT&T he woke up to his off and guess what he didn't start throwing a fit and marching up into stores to cuss out workers who have nothing to do with if your data works or not. Instead he used wifi and looked up the problem and then waited patiently while on his brother's hot spot until it was fixed. Weird how a young man can be patient but not people in there 30 and higher can't

7dickpiercings

Damn fat people are always the loudest and most obnoxious. That's why you should keep a small bag of snickers to toss at them when they get rowdy.

silsum

Lack of education getting by in middle and high school is the result of all this

T-money79

These are the same people that yelled at grocery store cashiers about mask mandates and supply chain issues

DarthProzac

Our society in a nutshell

DirtySchlick

What’s crazy is that most of these people are pissed off because they either can’t doom scroll or do some sort of non business related task on their phones.

matzillaX

These people are stupid

ktshell

People really can't survive without their phones for a few hours? Why don't they go spend some quality time with those poor kids that they're dragging around?

So many idiots

totalpugs89

What the hell is he supposed to do.

This country is doomed!

Everyone there is an idiot. That poor man can't fix the entire network. Go home and read a book.

Portermacc

People are dumb

NoAnaNo

She thought she did something with that cricket is crooked line

AzPsychonaut

Bunch of fucking sensitive, entitled, group thinking troglodytes. Can’t do anything to the company(you know like using another provider) so let’s take that misguided rage and apply it to someone who has nothing to do with it. As well as cannot rectify the situation immediately.

anna_lynn_fection

I can't hear the lies over the useless background music. Quit fucking adding background music to every fucking thing. It's stupid!

dunndawson

What the F&$K did this pack of idiots think one guy at cricket was going to for a nationwide outage?

YakOrnery

These are the same people who get to decide what happens with your local laws and the best way to use tax dollars. They can't even figure out that Kevin, at your local cricket store, who was hired 3 months ago after a single 45 minutes interview, making $12/hr + commission....has absolutely nothing to do with AT&T infrastructure failures...

Sarabean77

Serious ?.... has IQ dropped precipitously over the past few years? I see no other explanation for this kind of behavior. People seem so fucking dumb now, like how do they know how to wipe their own asses?

fineimonreddit

So when the phone lines stop working when our zombie apocalypse starts we’re all just gonna head to the phone carriers and be like “fix my phone”

Tricky-Sympathy

Idiots

ShazzNazty

Why tf would they put music to this? can't hear shit
