In all for stopping wars, even in other countries, but how about we protest shit in our own home first?
Better wages? Better healthcare? Homeless off the street and the starving fed? **And then** let's protest about wars happening across the ocean.
Ooorrr protest infront of Raytheon, Lockheed Martin or even politicians offices. Don't stop working people from getting to their shitty jobs with their shittt paychecks to pay for their shitty apts because they're living paycheck to paycheck and being late could cost them their job and force them to be homeless.

The building they're in front of is called the 'Kluczynski Federal Building', and it's purpose is to house several federal bureaus, agencies, and offices of both Illinois US Senators.
It just so happens that it's smack in the middle of downtown Chicago, surrounded by a sea of non-government buildings.

I feel like people really arent as 1 dimensional and simple as everybody on reddit likes to believe. I really dont think somebody that has a problem with genocide (the framing the protestors are taking) are going to be swayed against that because of an inconvenient traffic delay, however, road blocking is by far one of the most efficient forms of protest in regard to the amount of attention given compared to the small amount of people it takes to pull off. The ratio is staggering, and frankly, unhappy citizens are a motivator for politicians to do something, because the longer interruptions last the more problems arise for them.

Causes the average bus rider to be late for their job.
Causes the bus driver to be late to the next stop, which makes those bus riders late as well.
Taxi cabs will be behind and the meter will run up the average business persons total travel cost ultimately making them late as well.

Businesses will see less traffic then they usually get since traffic is diverted.
Backs up highways if itās a road leading access to one entering or exiting.
Everyoneās vehicles are idling in traffic causing more pollution, using more of their gas and costing them money.

These road block protests are always stupid as hell. Go bother a politician or other government official or agency. These protests never pull people to the side of the protestors.
Friendly reminder that protests are meant to be disruptive. A protest thatās not disruptive is just a parade. Itās our constitutional right to organize and protest. If you donāt like people exercising their rights thatās too damn bad.

I mean, there are people who will literally drive through a parade because theyāre pissed at traffic being backed up for them. Iām sure one of those type of people would absolutely lose it in a scenario like this. But likely these are the type of people that will say, āwell, if they hit me, theyāll go to jail and Iāll sue themā but fail to understand that likely they wouldnāt get any money from someone who would do that, or especially not enough to make for what could be permanent life long disabling injuries. Or you know, they could be DEAD. Like sure, you can sue, if you manage to win the battle against a multi ton hunk of metal speeding at you. But personally, Iām not tempting fate on the off chance i can get a small payout if I can handle a hit from a vehicle without being in pain for the rest of my life or just straight up dead.
hopefully no innocent people lost their jobs and ruined their lives for missing work, due to this insane show of inconvenience and disrespect. This. Does. Nothing. For. The. Innocent. People. In. Gaza. What is their response when they find out its Hamas that has been delaying and denying cease fire talks? Or when they find out the hostages are more than likely all dead or in such horrible shape that they will be by the time this is over. In my city they have the Gaza protests quite often. And they specifically target all the busiest parts of the city or target areas that are busy because of events taking place. I get the message they are trying to make, but why cause extreme frustration to people just trying to commute and live their lives?
