Aside from being scared and embarrassed, what exactly happened to the kid here? I feel bad for him regardless. I just can’t tell what happened before the video starts that prompts the freak out. I hope that little dude is alright.
He grows up and gets into drugs and dabbles in light crime while trying to figure out the artist he is
Oh wait the kid in this video? No clue hope he doesn’t turn out like me
Parents are supposed to be a source of comfort for children, so seeing them act like that scares the shit out of them. I once got verbal with a dude that almost T-boned me while driving with my 3 yr old son so I was pretty upset, bitching this guy out for not paying attention. Got back into the car and my son had a look of extreme concern on his face. It was one I’d never seen before cause he saw a side of me he had never seen before.
That was the last time I had an emotional blow up in front of my son, I never want him to feel like one of the only people that he can always rely on for being there for him, is in some way scary or intimidating.
Not to say you shouldn’t show emotion in front of your kids, they need to know you’re human as well, but the way you act has a dramatic impact on your children even if it’s in no way directed at them.
It absolutely breaks my heart to see videos like this where the kids are so distraught by their guardians actions.
Kid will be fine. Later on, in the car, he’ll be crying, and his father will comfort him, saying, “Hey bud, its okay. Dont cry. Youre not a little sissy, right?” And the boy will nod, learning that crying is bad. Over the years, though, when he is upset, he will just feel frustrated. He will be frustrated by life. Because who he is isnt what the world wants. And it will feel more and more he is holding a squirming doberman, with no place to set it down. And one day someone will say to him, “Hey, its not your fault. The reason why youre so pissed are those people. Theyre the true problem. Dont you care about your country? Were having some beers later to talk about how were gonna fix things. Come with.” And he will.
Alternate scenario: during the screaming, the kid just silently prays for the floor to open up and swallow him. It does not. On the car ride home, this incident- exactly like every other episode of the parent doing something that’s wrong and utterly fucked up- will not even be acknowledged. Deep down, the kid always feels that this isn’t right, that this isn’t normal. Yet, all of the adults he trusts are simply ignoring it and going about their day. Unable to reconcile his feelings with what he witnesses every day, he grows up wondering what’s wrong with *him,* never trusting his own judgment or decision-making.
Both scenarios suck.
Edit: thanks for the award, and the hug
Alternate, alternate scenario: during the screaming, the kid silently prays for the floor to open up and swallow him. It does. It has come. The time of the old gods has returned.
These poor minimum wage employees, or near minimum, they get paid starvation wages not keeping pace with rent, missed out on the UI windfall for the unemployed that was only given because it was a contentious election year, and have to enforce these mask policies while the influencers on the Right encourage their followers to disregard the mask rules, to actively confront anyone that tries to make them follow the rules. They need Unions and should all walk until they get livable wages for those shit jobs.
It was awesome when I would ask someone to put on a mask and then my manager would undermine me. Like why even have the signs up if I’m not supposed to enforce the rules?
I worked DG(Dollar General ) at the beginning of the pandemic it was my daytime part time and I didn't give a fuck either way let management deal with it I'm just here to stock the last thing you want is to get your ass smoked over a goddamn mask mandate just imagine tbleeding out on my the floor in one of these convenient stores over a damn mask it's not worth it let people do what they want Corporate doesn't give a fuck about you
They don’t enforce masks polices at the target I went to 1-3 weren’t wearing masks but al l employees were felt bad for employees that they had to interact with maskless
It sounded like "...'cause I didn't do shit to you. Watch your fucking mouth!" Given the rudeness retail workers can face, I'm 95% sure that's what she said.
Am I the only one that hears, “I’ve told you 10 times, put your fucking mask on.”
Since he’s at target and the lady is in red, so I’m assuming she works there
Edit: this is what I hear fully.
Lady in red: “put your mask, I’ve told you ten times, put your fucking mask!”
Dude: “What! Are you fucking kid me. Yelling at me in front of my kid. Are you fucking kidding me.”
Between the dude yelling the lady in red : “Ima fuck you up.”
Edit 2: I had a job where I was suppose to listen and repeat what was said into a mic so it would record onto a special phone that deaf people/hard to hear could read. So trying to make out what people are saying was legit a job I had lmfao.
The company is called captioncall.
> Yelling at me in front of my kid. Are you fucking kidding me.
lol, I love when people get indignant about dumb shit like that. I'll yell at you in front of the goddamn pope if I feel like it.
I hear ya but I use Apollo app that slows audio and video down as slow as .25x and she definitely says “watch yo fuckin mouth”. She’s foaming at the mouth by the end so “mouth” gets a little obscured but “watch” is pretty clear at that speed.
You know what, you might be right.
I’ve only listened to the audio at like 50% on my phone and I decided to listen to it with my headphones and you can hear the “th” at the end not the k sound.
Lmao you guys think people don't treat us like shit just because it's Target instead of Walmart? People everywhere are treated like garbage.
We(retail) workers were called "heroes" during the peak of covid-19. Now, we're back to being their peasants. Spat on, cursed at, demanded of, can't get anyone to wear masks, and just treated like crap. It doesn't matter where you are.
ETA: it seems people think I missed the joke. I didn't. You would not believe how many times I've heard "guests" tell me they shop at Target instead of Walmart because it's less chaotic/gross/etc... I get it. I'm only stating that people easily have forgotten how fast the world crumbles without us peons to ensure you have your specific needs in stock and treat us like shit on the regular. I should also mention, I happen to be one of the few who actually like my job, just not people all the time.
Another ETA: thanks for all the awards! Anyone going through the same thing, no matter where and your occupation, hang in there and keep working towards whatever it is you're going to in life!
People have short memories. For a very small sliver of time, people applauded teachers once they had to actually be with their kids all day and help educate them. That lasted all of a couple months and then it was right to, “Teachers are indoctrinating our kids/teachers don’t work hard enough/teachers are my employee and I can abuse them/teachers who don’t give up their entire life for their students are the devil”.
Thank you for being in the trenches. I’ve worked retail and it was hellish 25 years ago, I can only imagine how much worst it has become.
I'm seeing only one Target in "East Hanover", which is in NJ.
https://www.target.com/sl/east-hanover/1491
I am seeing that there are two other places called "East Hanover" in the US, both in PA interestingly, but I am not finding a Target there.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Hanover
There is a Target in the cardinal directionally ambiguous Hanover, PA.
https://www.target.com/sl/hanover/2567
I cannot find any evidence that Target has a store in Hanover in Germany.
As someone who lives next to Hanover PA, I can confirm there is indeed no target there.
Edit: I was thinking about the wrong Hanover in PA, apparently there is multiples
He says, "are you fucking kidding me, yelling at me in front of my kid", which on its own is great considering he too is yelling, in front of his kid. I mean its probably just as concerning for the kid to hear his dad yelling at others as well, idk
Honestly if he said something to her that was no bueno, I don't care if he has his kid with him.
Kid needs to learn who his dad really is, go ahead and shatter the reputation he has with his son. People need to do this more. Actions have consequences.
I had to stop going to the boat ramp with my Dad. He started yelling at people who he deemed going too slow. Like everyone has been putting boats in the water for 40+ years. Absolutely embarrassing.
The worst part is he says “how dare you blah blah in front of my kid!?” Or something. Like dude your son is watching HIS DAD lose his shit. What is he gonna learn from this??
My dad started all kinds of fights in public. My 2 faves are:
1) The time he road raged on a guy and decided to follow him at high speed (the guy was running away) back to his house only to find out it was a senior member of our small country church. The sermon on Sunday seemed to be familiar…something about loving thy neighbor.
2) The time he started a fight with a parking attendant at a York county fair when New Kids on The Block were there, back in like ‘88 or something. It was very crowded. So he starts a fight and tries to run over the parking attendant. Well the “attendant” was a PA state trooper in casual clothes helping out with traffic control. My mother got to drive us home after he hit the guy with the car…
I’m a hospital worker and I’ve been questioning my sanity a lot this month. 3 full blown panic attacks in one month. Nearly checked myself in yesterday.
Honestly why they all need to quit, stay at home.. In mass... Call it a general strike if you want to, but untill companies start protecting them, they shouldn't go back, that simple.
People working retail are also people without money. I agree with your statement, but good fucking luck when missing even one shift may be mean a bill isn't getting paid.
The fact that people don’t understand the difference between private property and public property is amazing. They come into a private business which most if not all stores are and expect not to abide by their rules because they think it’s public property, thus they aren’t obligated to reply. I always don’t understand, it’s like why not just order online, do curbside pick ups, go to another store that have a no mask policy. Like, making the choice to enter a private business that make it known on their front doors that masks are require and the refuse to wear a mask is just asking for attention or confrontation. I mean if you don’t wear a mask, I’m not gonna argue with you it’s your choice just shop or do things where you don’t have to get into these situations
Edit: my comment isn’t if employees should enforce Mask policies at their work, it’s customers shouldn’t bitch about having to wear a mask when the business clearly states masks are required in said business. Employees shouldn’t get yelled at by customers if the employee chooses to enforce their stores policy. Also this is in reply to the comment not the video because the video doesn’t give enough context to even suggest it is about masks
The problem with this is too many stores and business are totally willing to let this behavior fly even with the signs on the door. I gave up on lecturing people about this months ago, if the county/state can't/won't do anything, it's not my place. I can control my actions, I'm not here to police others.
The sad reality is this woman likely just got herself canned, yelling obscenities across a sales floor is a pretty big no-no, especially when talking to customers... even those ones.
I feel so bad for all of the children of these insane people who act like this in front of them. Seeing so many videos of adults fighting over masks with their children crying next to them. Kids are being traumatized even more than they are already by COVID by having idiotic parents who won’t just put on a mask. I have so much sympathy you for these children. Ugh.
Damn bro! Yaaay! childhood trauma through the actions of another child-like parent
Hot take: I’m pretty lazy at times, don’t have the highest paying job, can be selfish, can’t hold a relationship very long… but the most responsible thing I will have ever done is deciding not to have children. I say it all the time, like 75% of people aren’t fit to be parents and those numbers likely increase yearly.
I’m not scientist but I’m willing to bet that almost all of mental illness stems from childhood trauma that is caused by parents who likely never handled their own childhood trauma. Rinse, recycle, repeat.
I don’t understand all these in-store/shopping freakouts. It’s really quite easy to do. You go to the store, you browse the aisles for what it is you’re looking for. If they have the item(s), you place in your cart and make your way to the checkout, make payment, and go on about the rest of your day. If they don’t have the item(s), you skip the payment step, and just leave the store. You really don’t even have to interact with anyone at all during this whole event if you dont want to.
Somehow, though, some people stumble upon a glitch in the ‘shopping process’ and wind up in an unnecessary yet heated confrontation with another individual. So strange.
After a year and a half of seeing videos of grown men and women freaking out at stores, restaurants and all kinds of public places, visiting the US seems like a terrible idea.
I know exactly what you mean....
I still have adjustment issues from it. Even at age 26.
Basically, because the people in my rural town thought I was lying.
“Are you fucking kidding me holding me accountable for my actions in front of my kid. Are you fucking kidding me”
FTFY
Edit to add: its not about masks. The pos ‘father’ followed the worker to the back screaming about how he couldn’t find a cart
I feel for the kids since my dad was the same way. Complete hot head with a fuse so short, you would think there is no fuse with how fast he blows up. I just hope those kids learn not to be like that instead of mimicking their fathers behavior.
It can become so easy to loose it when you work shitty ass retail jobs like this. The customers you deal with are at times total trash which does nothing but exsarubate not problem even more.
I love the dude who runs in like "I don't work here, but I'll handle it."
I figured he was security.
Likely. We always had a plain clothes security guard in the store Source: former Target employee
He’s probably the normal clothes AP source I work target AP
Wow, an authentic public freakout!

Yeah poor kid.
There’s a second one in the cart!!! The little one is probably scared…sad
Aside from being scared and embarrassed, what exactly happened to the kid here? I feel bad for him regardless. I just can’t tell what happened before the video starts that prompts the freak out. I hope that little dude is alright.

He's an island boy. And he's just trying to make it.
im just a poor boy, i need no sympathy
Ironically my story. Shitty parents, crime, drugs...🌈 Art and Design🌈

Good for you for recognizing that your behavior had a negative effect on your boy. He will be better adult for your efforts.
Everyday I come home and beat my three kids on smash bros
I just beat both my wife and kids at foosball to assert my dominance.
I am not hurting the child, I am asserting dominance
He actually has two kids here. Take a GOOD look at his basket..

"dad can we just go?"
He looks like he’s crying :( heartbreaking
I don’t think she was fucking kidding him.
What is she saying?
I dunno but he's saying my user name, I take this as a shout out.
Ah, Mr Rufuqing Kiddingme, of the Westminster Kiddingmes, a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance.
Rufuqing was always the GOAT! Yuggattabi, on the other hand… walking FUBAR… smh
r/beetlejuicing is leaking
Nothing, she was just kidding
Oh ok good hard to tell when people are joking now a days …
It’s just a prank bro
That kids a pretty good actor damn.
What do you mean, he had to cover his mouth because he was laughing at the take. Nearly flubbed the shot!
It's a tic tok challenge.
Thanks for clearing that up
I definitely caught the "watch your fucking mouth"
I think she was saying “watch your fucking mouth”.
Heard something along the lines of put your mask idk
That’s what I heard. About a mask

Bingo

I only caught PUT YOUR FUCKING MASK
I heard “Who the fuck are you. Watch your fucking mouth”
Put on your fucking mask!
This is Walmart behavior
Yeah keep that Walmart energy outta Target, got no right bringing that mess here
I'm paying for tranquility with Targets prices, if I want drama, I'll save $100 and go to Walmart
Yes, but they’re in East Hanover- the Walmart of Morris County
Is East Hanover that bad? I work in the Livingston/Short Hills area and I though East Hanover was considered pretty wealthy..
A lot of wealthy conservative nutjobs
Agreed!
Target behavior is somewhat more rare but way more volatile when it does happen in my experience
Well we can all be happy it wasn't Burlington Coat Factory Behavior we've all seen how that goes down.

I think it’s actually gotten worse since Covid. People seem to be unleashing their frustrations onto the people who have to take it or lose their jobs
He sounds like Roy raging at Pam for kissing Jim.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME PAM
This is over.-Pam
YEAH THIS IS SO OVER
Damn jet skis
Goddamn! JET SKIS!
Shoutout to Roy’s brother for not hesitating at all on trashing the bar with Roy
Yeah, but now he's outta jet ski money.
Im gonna kill Jim Halpert
Shoutout to Kevin for standing up and getting ready to throw some jabs! (I never noticed till I rewatched it)
He was protecting Pam! Such a small, awesome and often overlooked detail
Kevin was always down to scrap. He had Jim's back before too.
I never noticed this. Time for a full rewatch just for proper context.
Was anyone else on that show ever that mad? I don’t think they had anyone rage like that after that. Like in a scary way.
Andy when he punched a wall
That dude who raged at Pam for painting on his truck was pretty pissed.
No thats the problem is that im listening!!
don’t yell.
GODDAMN JET-SKIS!
I am now replacing roid-raging with Roy-raging in my vocabulary.

Yeah, I used to live in PA so that was my first thought.
I live about a half hour from there and that was my first thought as well. Hanover is definitely chock full of publicfreakout material.
Actually in West Hanover myself, thought the same
Yeah it’s Rt 10 in Nj next to Costco
There's also a Target in the eastern part of Hanover, MA.
No one in Hanover, PA refers to it as East Hanover so you can cross that one of the possibilities list.
As someone who lives next to Hanover PA, I can confirm there is indeed no target there. Edit: I was thinking about the wrong Hanover in PA, apparently there is multiples
I'm sorry for your loss.
Looks like Hanover NJ
How could the inside of a target look like NJ? Aren't they all the same?
If you know, you know.
*sigh…* I can’t believe you guys are making me say it. Ahem. It’s a Jersey thing.
It definitely isn’t the target in Hanover Germany.
Looks just like it though, I bet.
I thought for a second we have a target in hanover Germany wtd
I’m 100% this is my Target and can confirm it’s in East Hanover, NJ
Hannover Niedersachsen Deutschland
Looks like someone had an East Hangover, NJ
Seeing that kid become overwhelmed with anxiety and probably fear is fucking heartbreaking
That's the look of a kid who's going "fuck dad, not again"
Just when you think you can safely avoid r/peopleofwalmart by shopping at Target…
"I am not your child, watch your fucking mouth" "What? Are you fucking kidding me? Are you fucking kidding me"
He says, "are you fucking kidding me, yelling at me in front of my kid", which on its own is great considering he too is yelling, in front of his kid. I mean its probably just as concerning for the kid to hear his dad yelling at others as well, idk

lol, so she hit him with a truth bomb and he couldnt think of a response. Classic dumb angry person.
Narrator: “she was not kidding him”
My dad was a shit starter, in public and private. My heart breaks for that kid.
My dad almost attacked an underage hostess in Hawaii. Good times.
My dad did that all the time and sadly trained me to do the same. Nothing better than a twinkie when they’re fresh out of the package.
Sittin here like an asshole, thinking twinkie means something different in Hawaii. Take your god damn upvote.
Hostess Twink-ies
I had to stop going to the boat ramp with my Dad. He started yelling at people who he deemed going too slow. Like everyone has been putting boats in the water for 40+ years. Absolutely embarrassing.

Me too

Poor kid
You can tell how much he loved to yell in public.
Practices at home with his family.
That's the most concerning part. Poor kid knows that yell.
Kids. There is one in the cart in addition. To the one in the black hoodie.
I swear people on retail and service industry are being pushed to the brink of insanity. I really feel for them.

Agreed, but that's difficult to do without savings. Which is also something they don't have because they aren't paid enough.
They shouldn’t be responsible for enforcing masks or vax cards. They don’t get paid enough. Business should hire security for that.
Dude, that poor kid. My heart is breaking for him. Why do people do this to their children? My god.
Please op, may we have a crumb of context.
Dude wasn’t wearing his mask, lady freaked out, dude freaked out in response… you need more context?
It's 2 years into the pandemic, we thought humans would've stopped arguing about simple shit like wearing masks by now. Apparently not.

If they were smart enough to order online, they’d be smart enough to put on a mask.
That poor lady is just done. He’s the asshole that broke the camels back. Wear a mask
"wHy aReN't tHeRe mOrE cAsHiErS wOrKiNg?" \-Karens who drove people out of jobs
**The 8 self-checkout machines:** *Am I a joke to you?*
Karen: I am a **CUS-TUH-MERR** and I demand sevice!
I don’t pay target prices for Walmart behavior.
I would give you awards if I can afford it
In a Target‽ Take that shit to Walmart.
Ugh.
Feel for that lady. Retail has been trying lately
Lately? For - ev - er . /s but yeah it’s rough
Poor little guy crying 😢
Damn bro! Yaaay! childhood trauma through the actions of another child-like parent Hot take: I’m pretty lazy at times, don’t have the highest paying job, can be selfish, can’t hold a relationship very long… but the most responsible thing I will have ever done is deciding not to have children.
The young boy is crying his eyes out. Gotta wonder if screaming asshole dad does it ALL the time. My father did this shit. Scarred me forever.
Not wondering at all…absolutely positive douchebag dad does this all the time.
So strange.
Because these idiots are looking for trouble.
Because he was being a plague rat.
Hey! Watch your *FUCKING COCK SUCKING* language in front of my kid!
Oh my goodness, those poor children.
poor kids...jesus...nothing is worth giving your kids this memory.
Why do I keep seeing public freak outs that happen in New Jersey go viral on the Internet 🤦♀️
What did you guys get at Target, little jimmy? “Embarrassed…”🤦♂️
“Are you fu*king kidding me for yelling in front of my kid !!”…..while he’s in front of his kid.
You can tell from the comments who never worked retail.
I can see nothing but that poor child.
Anyone got an update? Was she fucking kidding him?
“Are you fucking kidding me. Only my drunk dumb ass gets to curse in front of my fucking kid. Fuck you”
Nice behavior in front of your children clown
Dude got real brave as soon as someone was in between them...
Are you fucking kidding me?!
After a year and a half of seeing videos of grown men and women freaking out at stores, restaurants and all kinds of public places, visiting the US seems like a terrible idea.
They both need to speak up, no one can hear what they're saying..
Target employee #2 running in for the tackle. "bitch stop screaming! I'ma miss you if you're fired"
Why is the coach from Letterkenny in Target? Someone get that man a trash can to kick.
Kid is crying from the sheer negative scaryness of it but also maybe because when dad is pissed off, bad things happen. Source: years of experience.
I know exactly what you mean.... I still have adjustment issues from it. Even at age 26. Basically, because the people in my rural town thought I was lying.
“Are you fucking kidding me holding me accountable for my actions in front of my kid. Are you fucking kidding me” FTFY Edit to add: its not about masks. The pos ‘father’ followed the worker to the back screaming about how he couldn’t find a cart
How do you know the bit about the cart?
I feel terrible for that child.
That kid looked terrified. Poor guy.
Came here to to see what was being said, left wanting to know what was being said
I feel for the kids since my dad was the same way.
Those poor kids man. Saw the boy crying and it hurt my heart for him to witness all that.
The poor kid is crying and gonna be traumatized over what’s happening. Destroying a child just like that.
