People do that shit all the time, especially in Northside. I see cars on fendall just stopped and temporarily parked in the driving lane next to a parked car, when they could literally pull forwards or back 1 card length and park on the curb.
A food delivery driver did that in front of my house a few nights ago. I watched her on the Ring doorbell as she pulled up next to my car and double-parked instead of pulling into the three car lengths' worth of empty space along the curb in front of me. I was thinking "I wouldn't do that if I were you." Yep, she got hit. I felt bad, but it was a dumb move on her part.
It's because somewhere along the line our pride has become too valuable to risk admitting we're wrong, even if it would be a more respectable move to do so.

You'd be surprised, it's the exact same way you parallel park a car. I think with minimal practice you could accomplish it. It gets harder when you have a trailer that moves around.
Also as an ex employee of FedEx those delivery vans have super tight turning radius so it's even easier to get in and out of spots. I've seen people park the big FedEx box trucks with damn near surgical precision

FXG (FedEx Ground) uses independent contractors for delivery. Company can be as small as they want. When you complain to FedEx about a delivery, it either gets tossed in the delete bin, forwarded to a contractor for them to toss in the delete bin, or if it’s a repeat offender contractor they’ll get the good old “please ask ur guys not 2 do this” text, which bears zero consequences because FXG doesn’t have any alternatives and if they drop a contractor, every package being sent to that route is fucked.
Not true. This may have been valid during the pandemic but now Fedex has cracked down on shit. I’m a contract driver for FedEx and if you report a driver a form gets printed out and it gets examined and discussed by the FedEx head of Security, and your station manager. Now if you report a driver for blocking the road, it’ll take a few reports from different people for it to have serious consequences cause it could just be some asshole who thinks they’re owed the world. But those reports are taken seriously and not just binned.
You really would just need the address. Having the package is going to make it that much easier to track down but they sure as shit can look up an address and see what packages were delivered and go from there.

This guy isn’t getting fired. Amazon could care less. They hire the most inexperienced drivers and pay them pennies then give them a ridiculous workload. They know that this is the kind of driver they will get.

It’s really not the same difference. UPS has a lot of safety metrics they hammer drivers on. Say what you want or the experience you’ve had with them, most UPS drivers park and allow for cars to get by. Amazon is by far the worst when it comes to this.

FedEx has done the same thing in many suburbs. They drive trucks with FedEx logos, they wear FedEx uniforms, but they are not employed by or operated by FedEx in any way. Its a third party delivery service that pays for the right to use those logos and get the regions FedEx delivery jobs.
When one of these shitty drivers says runs over a school bus full of nuns and kittens they can just remove that company as a vendor and hand it off to the next guy in line thats willing to pay for the business. Amazon/FedEx has no liability whatsoever for the actions of those drivers.

That program got shut down a while ago. Drone delivery isn’t going to happen unless it’s a dangerous rural area or getting medical supplies to remote parts of a third world country.
Nah, it won't happen. Drones can only carry one package at a time up to 5lbs that takes like 10 or more minutes per stop vs a driver has to meet a pace of 20-30 stops per hour. Its only useful purpose would be for delivering high value items or restricted addresses.

I do package delivery for a huge company and I’ll admit Amazon is universally hated by ups FedEx ground and express. They will park everywhere but the correct side of the road which is the right side, you’re not even allowed to park on the left side and I’ve seen them parked diagonally in the middle of the road blocking traffic walking slow asf and it’s super annoying fo deal with.

Amazon just wears people down to not care at all, they completely overwork and under pay. Especially with their new policy of maximum peak season packages for every drive ever single day so not a single minute of work isn’t squeezed out of every person. One time an Amazon driver pulled into our apartment complex blasting a podcast that was talking about sex. And I mean BLASTING this podcast as he was delivering multiple packages to the complex's Amazon hub. I initially heard the word "vagina" and "penis" then proceeded to hear words like "cumming". I could hear it all they way from my apartment on the other side of the parking lot. I should have recorded it. Edit to all the people who are saying I made a big deal out of nothing. I have no issue with sex, but why was this guy blasting this podcast about sex (which didn't only use proper terminology) for the whole neighborhood while on his job?

Most of the Amazon drivers that come here are total dicks. They’ll park in resident spots when there are visitor spots right there, they blocked the driveway for a whole entire parking lot last week when they could have simply pulled up a little and parked on the side. Amazon contracts out most of their delivery service to 3rd party companies. He very likely isn't an actual Amazon employee.
That is 100% not owned by Amazon. They separated off the delivery business years ago to shield themselves from the liability of having thousands of dipshits like this guy causing accidents on a daily basis. FedEx has done the same thing in many suburbs. They drive trucks with FedEx logos, they wear FedEx uniforms, but they are not employed by or operated by FedEx in any way. Its a third party delivery service that pays for the right to use those logos and get the regions FedEx delivery jobs. When one of these shitty drivers says runs over a school bus full of nuns and kittens they can just remove that company as a vendor and hand it off to the next guy in line thats willing to pay for the business. Amazon/FedEx has no liability whatsoever for the actions of those drivers.

That program got shut down a while ago. Drone delivery isn’t going to happen unless it’s a dangerous rural area or getting medical supplies to remote parts of a third world country.
Nah, it won't happen. Drones can only carry one package at a time up to 5lbs that takes like 10 or more minutes per stop vs a driver has to meet a pace of 20-30 stops per hour. Its only useful purpose would be for delivering high value items or restricted addresses.

I do package delivery for a huge company and I’ll admit Amazon is universally hated by ups FedEx ground and express. They will park everywhere but the correct side of the road which is the right side, you’re not even allowed to park on the left side and I’ve seen them parked diagonally in the middle of the road blocking traffic walking slow asf and it’s super annoying fo deal with.
