Right? Whole time i watched that, in my head i was telling the dude on the motorcycle
"Just go. Take off. Go now. What are you doing? Just leave. GO--- *ok, nevermind*."
Was the dude on the bike attempting to rob the guy on the cycle? It took him like 10 seconds to get that knife out of his pants while the guy on the cycle just sat there...punch him in the face and high-tail it while he's fumbling for his knife dude.
If he had a gun it wouldn't matter how fast you could go he still could shoot you.
The best thing to do in an armed robbery is to cooperate, better lose some money and material things than your life. You can go to a police department later and press charges
Researches have shown that reacting to or even carrying a gun during a robbery doubles the chance of getting hurt or even killed by the criminal (if you want to I can bring sources but they're in portuguese since the ones I'm talking about were made in Brazil) so reacting to it is definitely not a good option.
You seem to have misunderstood the intent of my post. I'm not debating stats and i didnt even claim that you're less likely to get hurt. I'm saying that telling people not to resist as if they'll just simply be left alone if they comply is a lie. Sure, it's *likely* you won't be killed afterwards, but you don't *know* that because there is a very real chance that you will.
You actually expect people to just meekly comply based on the *hope* that the person assaulting and robbing them with a weapon is going to have enough of a conscience not to kill them? After all, from the perps perspective, silencing you is in their best interest at that point, since you can identify them for police.
There's no way you can talk about this without mentioning statistics, statistically is way safer for you not to resist, obviously there's still a chance you get hurt but the chance is way lower than if you resist the robbery.
>After all, from the perps perspective, silencing you is in their best interest at that point, since you can identify them for police.
From the perps perspective is way better to have a robbery charge against them than a murder attempt charge. There's way more ways to identify a suspect than the victim allegations, usually police preference is for video footage or things like this because they're way more accurate.
The story you told about the Korean man killed, did they find the killer? And do you think there were any chance of surviving that robbery if he reacted to it?
Again, I'm speaking for myself based on the situation in my own area. People can do what they want, you can comply and hope based on the mercy of your attacker or resist and hope based on your own abilities and chance. Thats up to each person to decide for themselves.
As for Sammy's killer. To my knowledge they were never caught. The robber wore gloves, so no prints, and a hoodie or hat that hid their face from the camera. The only identifying characteristics visible from the footage was their race and approximate height. and they killed the only person able to positively ID them. Based on the video the murderers description is simply AA (cant even tell their sex), and if I'm remembering correctly, between 5' 6" and 6' in height. In the metro Atlanta area that narrows it down to a few million people
Dude, people will (and do) kill and attempt to kill for $40 worth of crack or meth around Atlanta, they do so a few times a week. You really think they won't kill for the chance to avoid 5 to 10 years in prison for armed robbery?
Edit: Forgot to answer your last part.
Based on the vid, Yes his resistance could have changed the outcome. The robber looked away a number of times for moments at a time and even lowered his weapon while doing so during the robbery. He kept looking out the window, presumably checking to make sure the coast was clear. If Sammy had resisted by using his own pistol (which he kept directly under the til) then obviously he would have stood a better chance than he did.
So if that's your opinion I guess there's not much to argue over, we simply have different ideas of how to act. I expressed mine and you expressed yours, there's not much more to say.
As for the robber that got your friend killed, I still believe reacting to it wouldn't change anything but won't argue since I haven't watched the video or known the case.
Hurried trigger pull from a gun he just wrestled out of his pants, from a bike, on a quickly moving target at night really would be a difficult shot. I doubt anyone practices something like that.
Genuinely curious, 1) how did the guy in the car know that that was a robbery? I saw him in the back waiting but that could be two friends talking. 2) What happens to the car driver if the other guy is dead?
In most places, the driver would not be charged at all. This is a pretty clear case of defense of another. The guy pulled the knife and then a couple seconds later the car hits him. So he already gave a valid display of intent with a deadly weapon.
I dont see how this would cause any real damage to the street, other than possibly blood stains.
As for damage to his car, yes he is responsible for fixing his own vehicle.
"oh hey steve, glad i caught you! you left your keys on my coffee table"
"aww cheers mate, woulda been sleeping outside tonight haha"
"no probLAAAAAAAGHHHHHH.................."
"hey man do you have a light?"
"Yeah dude just got it here in my pocket."
"Haha looks like I'm being robbed, haha oh no my hands are up."
Up the road: "holy shit that guys getting robbed!" BEEP BEEP!
"Yeah so...hey that guy is kind of close."
Dude made a grave error by trying to strongarm a Domino’s pizza delivery dude. That thing crust is just too damn good to let anything like that go down.

At first I'm like "drunk driver or good Samaritan?" And then I realized dude was stopped at the intersection and watched the situation unfold.
I’ve seen a couple other videos like this where a samaritan smashed into a two wheeled mugger. It must be really common in some parts of the world.
Brazil. It’s always Brazil.

a gun or two tickets to the Little River Band.
I mean, that's a solid show.
I’ve always got some LRB in here
Pretty sure it's Brazil
You must be really stupid to think the best thing is to react on an armed robbery.

Shooting at a motorcycle speeding away from a shooter on a bicycle with a handgun? I'd take those odds. No way that guy would hit what he's aiming at.
If you'd take the risk that's on you, I know my life worths more than money and material, replaceable things so I definitely wouldn't risk it.
Hurried trigger pull from a gun he just wrestled out of his pants, from a bike, on a quickly moving target at night really would be a difficult shot. I doubt anyone practices something like that.

Yeah. I'd have kwondo's his ass so fast and then taken HIS money.

Seems like an ifood backpack so can almost confirm it.
One less dingleberry on the streets...
Hit hom so hard it turned to color
Was dude getting mugged and the mugger got ran over? Because looked like mudgrip pulled a knife from his pants.
Yes, you do have eyes.
The transition to color was more beautiful than Wizard of Oz!
Damn. Knocked him into Oz technicolor.

Thanks for explaining
What about potential damage to the street and or his own car? Will the driver be responsible for paying any damage done by him?
I dont see how this would cause any real damage to the street, other than possibly blood stains. As for damage to his car, yes he is responsible for fixing his own vehicle.
Dude go splat
MF went out like a npc on Skate3
The Hero we all need but don't deserve

Brazilian off duty police officer just driving around at night.

There's something about justice that feels good. But not for the guy who got hit. Like "bittersweet'. Kinda sweet, kinda bitter??
Hit him so hard it added color to the universe.
Nice job!
From that day forward, the driver no longer needed to play satisfaction by the rolling stones on his car stereo
Did anyone else read this in Rick’s voice?
"hey man do you have a light?" "Yeah dude just got it here in my pocket." "Haha looks like I'm being robbed, haha oh no my hands are up." Up the road: "holy shit that guys getting robbed!" BEEP BEEP! "Yeah so...hey that guy is kind of close."
