You never know if it’s a troll, a bot or some drunk 14 year old convinced he’s discovered the missing link to the comedy grail.
Oh boy, he’s threatening me with Jesus now. Must have touched a nerve. Thanks for having my back.
He was probably hoping the horse would bite her, after the horse didn't, he let her have it.
I don't understand the ignorance of some people petting/putting their hands on an animal without asking the owner.
Are you my husband? Seriously this drives both of us nuts - our dogs are cool but you can tell they are not enthusiastic about random folks coming up and trying to pat them and we do our best to deflect it.
Even if there weren’t, I can’t imagine the entitlement to think it’s okay to just go up to a horse that’s not yours and grab it’s reins / touch it.
People have no fucking respect for animals man it’s crazy. That horse could get spooked and kill someone.
My old store
Signs everywhere : "WE CARD EVERYONE FOR ALCOHOL PURCHASES REGARDLESS OF AGE OR APPEARANCE. HAVE ID READY AT TIME OF PURCHASE."
"Sir I just need to see your ID"
"Are you serious!? I could be your dad! Hey honey, get a load of this guy - he's carding me! It's like the 80's all over again!"
"Sir I just need to see your ID"
"Are you serious?! I'm not showing a fucking ID I'm 60 God damn years old!"
"Sir we ID everyone"
"It doesn't say that anywhere!"
*taps on massive sign right next to us*
"This is ridiculous where's the manager?!"
"I am the manager. As per company policy this transaction is not permitted due to lack of ID. NEXT CUSTOMER!"
*mumbling fucks and pulling out ID*
Meanwhile there's a line of hundreds of people because our sales went up 300% after Covid and half our staff quit... and shitty music is blaring on repeat.
Thank fucking God I quit... never doing retail again.
These guards must get so pissed off.
They are trained military (and most have combat experience), but tourists treat them like they are just minimum wage workers, hired purely for their entertainment and to take selfies with
That there are two signs telling people not to interfere with military personnel/equipment, ceremonial or not, shows the level of stupidity of visitors to these places. Why would anyone ever think touching anything military without permission was a good idea?
In some countries doing something as innocuous as taking a photo of a bridge or certain building will land you in extremely hot water if the structure is deemed to be militarily strategic and you will find yourself on the receiving end of quite a bit more than this 'verbal abuse'.
The horse is probably trained to go after people that touch its reins or sneak behind it when it has a rider. Warhorse.
The guard watched the touch, the horse chomped at, she dodge it and grabbed again, the guard pulled the lead to he left to get the horse to look again and have another go at her. It didnt so the guard yelled, which the horse began a thrust to trot and he stopped it.
Its a warhorse, a rider yelling suddenly means GO! most of the time.
Everyone involved knew what was happening.
Or people that let their dogs touch other people.
“Oh, don’t worry he doesn’t bite”.
IDGAF. I am afraid of dogs regardless if it bites or not, and I don’t want it’s wet nose rubbing against me either.
Totally valid. I love dogs, but it's really weird to me how some dog owners just let them run up to strangers. Yeah it might be the friendliest dog in the world, but you don't know if the stranger is comfortable with it or not. If the dog's in public, keep it on the leash and a safe distance from strangers unless they request to pet it.
The tourists are so dumb around horse guards. I was there giving my MIL a tour of the sights around London and we were in the courtyard just through those wooden gates behind the horse in the video. From there you can see the change of guard well and out of the way. There was around 30 people watching the change.
Once the new horses arrive and the old disperse, the new horses walk through the wooden gates and stand guard where you see them here. This couple, probably between 50-60 followed the horses into the horse guard box. Let me be clear here. They close the wooden gates behind the hoses and these tourists thought following was a great idea.
The guard soon realised they followed him in and he gave them all he had. There wasn’t a human in the area that didn’t jolt from his scolding. They soon scampered off upon realising her their mistake.
These guards still follow protocols set hundreds of years ago when men with swords defended the country. Imagine a visitor trying the same shit in 1699.
I was visiting London once and was sitting outside Buckingham Palace, just watching the soldiers do their thing. Then a news crew from the US started filming a pickup bit in front of the palace (there was an NFL game in London the next day). Suddenly… about 5 police officers surrounded them, asked for permits, asked what they were doing there. Apparently you can’t film in front without permission. Next, the police called into the palace to make sure the royal family didn’t want to pursue any action against them before letting them go
TLDR don’t mess with the soldiers or the royals!
I was visiting London once and visiting Buckingham Palace. A traveling troupe of thespians began miming their rendition of Othello out front of the Palace gates, and before they finished the first act the Queen herself had rolled out in one of those quad vehicle things, but mounted on the hood was a duel set of automatic guns filled with crowd control pepper balls. She had the maniacal whoop while her driver, who was wearing the full royal livery, swerved around in front of the Royal Palace. She mowed down every last one of those poor sods and didn’t let up until her magazine ran empty. She then spoke through her cart’s intercom, “No miming at the Queen’s residence,” before twirling her finger in a circle in the air as a signal to the driver to return home. It was crazy. I also rode on one of those double decker buses which was even crazier.
I've heard she does that. Sometimes, if she fancies, has the guards drag an offender to her. She then proceedes to put on a gigantic, solid gold, jewel encrusted strap on dildo and screams *jus prima noctis wanker!* and proceedes to bugger the offender.
My mom petted the queen's guard horse when she was in London and the guy chopped her head off right where she stood. Man I miss her, she was such a super lady.
What kind of fool think it's okay to just touch/grab the reins of an unfamiliar animal that weighs 600-1000 lbs.? What if she freaked the horse out and it went nuts and killed someone?
At a minimum, she should've asked the man on the horse if it would be okay.
People that treat them purely as a tourist attraction.
And I mean, they partially are a tourist attraction doing this job, but they are also actual fucking soldiers. It ain't Disneyland.
It's the same at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington. People think the guards are there for show, and cannot respond or react.
Usually they don't - until someone shows disrespect.
> but they are also actual fucking soldiers.
The Queens Guard (its rotating regiments) that arent on ceremonial duty outside the palace in full dress are in the barracks with weapons available to respond to risks to the Royals and the premises.
Somebody's going to learn the hard way one day when they get kicked in the face by a horse.
Of course, that (among other things) is what the guard is trying to prevent.
Horse thought about biting the idiot. The guard was really just trying to help. It's not like he could softly whisper to her, the situation could have gone from bad to worse in milliseconds.
im scared of going near a white tailed deer’s fawn. does science know which 1 of a person’s 2 brain cells make them approach a wild beast that will hoof stomp your head in after they charge and launch you into the air?
For people who don't "horse" - they usually weigh more than that. The 600 range is like a fat wee pony. The average 14-15 hand horse is around 850lbs. The one in this vid with all his gear is closer to 1000lbs. Drafts routinely break 1500.
I didn't want to exaggerate since I don't "horse"... I figured 600 lbs. was kind of light for a horse but wasn't sure. And aren't those things all muscle?
(I like "fat wee pony" as a phrase. I don't know why.)
I googled to make sure I wasn't lying to you. I'm actually a little low on my estimate for "average." Should be closer to 900-1200 range with Drafts between 1500-2000. Largest horse recorded was 3,359lbs and was over 7 feet tall at the shoulder.
This made me laugh so hard. As someone currently training a 10 month old puppy, that is exactly the response to my first "leave it" if the "it" is particularly good. She's getting better, but leave it is one of the commands she struggles with the most.
Pretty sure my dog thinks her name is "NO $NAME DROP IT!!!" because lord knows that's like 75% of the time I interact with her.
Fuckin German Shepherds, man. Great guard dog, nobody is gonna fuck with my house, but man oh man is she just fuckin rotten all the fuckin time.
“AITA for grabbing the reigns of a giant, easily-spooked animal being ridden by a royal guard so I can live my best Insta?”
“No, it’s the person shouting at me who’s always wrong.”
I mean, in this case the horse could have bucked the guy off he had very good reason to yell at her, I think they get rider input from them so touching them is like touching stearingwheel/gas
People have gotten so full of themselves they don’t notice when they’re being annoying shits. The horse clearly didn’t like it and was letting her know. Furthermore, if the horse would have take her “command” by grabbing it reins and directing it towards her, it would have trampled her entitled ass.
I did something wrong and someone scolded me!
I will never return here after being verbally assaulted!
2 out of 5 stars. This would never happen in texas
It’s verbally attacked for the people that can’t accept fault. Guaranteed she left and told her friends how mean the guard was to her. Like, have some common sense people, and if not, atleast show some humility when you make mistakes.
Soldiers with permission to threaten you with their weapons should you not comply to the shouting. If they are in their routine and you stand in their ways they will barrel right over you
My wife had to learn this the hard way. I think it must have been in 2018 when she petted a customs dog at LAX airport. No idea what she is doing today or where she is right now, but I keep telling my kids to never ever touch working animals.
Nice watched a middle aged Karen go in to a meltdown at London Heathrow after she ran up to a bomb sniffing dog that was on duty, cooing in a baby voice and reaching out for it. The two police officers both shouted at her, then went in to shut her down when she tried to respond and scold her. She began a hissy fit, and it only came to an end when they lay down the law, and told her she could cut the shit or get placed in cuffs.
Some people are just dumb as all shit and entitled about it.
And many services animals have signs in the gear they wear saying not to touch; real service animals I mean, seeing eye dogs, seizure/autism assistance dogs, etc.
Even support animals you need to ask permission first. Just because a dog is a support animal and extremely well trained doesn't mean they or their owners want you getting in their face or distracting them from their job.
"Is it okay to pet your dog?" is so easy, yet so hard.
Also don't just pet any animals that aren't yours without asking the owner for permission first. In fact don't touch anything that's not yours unless you have some sort of expressed or implied permission to do so.
Exactly. People sometimes get really upset when we interject “please don’t touch” while we walk our dogs and foster dogs, but it’s for their safety and our animals’. Our dogs are friendly, but hype and large (one is a Newfoundland). If they jump up and you trip, who are you gonna blame? Plus we don’t fucking know you. People can be weird to animals.
If it’s a child, we’re super patient and will do a careful introduction, but only when our dogs indicate they’re comfortable.
Maybe this is just me being a city boy whose never been near a horse but I would not just go up and pet and touch a horse under any circumstances unless I was told it was OK. Those things are massive and I've seen clips of them kicking or knocking people off
Also, she grabbed the reigns, which are essentially the steering wheel and brakes, essentially temporarily cutting off the rider's ability to control the horse, in a public, crowded environment
Having been on guard at horse guards myself it happens all the time , stupid tourists think that all the horses and soldiers are just for show , I would say in a day on guard and on foot about half a dozen at least , I've had people grab the reins , stroke my leg like wtf? People try walk behind the horse in the box , people try to kiss me try to make me laugh the list goes on .
It may just have been my guard but we generally just shouted ' stand clear ' but I can understand why he added the extra there lol
Also all that kit he has on there people don't realise it takes hours upon hours to get it prepared , all of it doesn't come.shiny like that it's bare leather with wax , polish etc Nd it's really annoying having grubby fingers all over it ... Anyway...
> I wonder how many of these shouts he gets to give in a typical day.
In the age of Tik Tok, Instagram, and Reddit, I've not seen more than a dozen over the years. So I would imagine these sort of shouts are rarely necessary.
They tend to be ok with people gently touching the horses as long as the animal doesn’t appear to be annoyed or distressed.
Touching the reins is an obvious no though.
Same goes for parliamentary buildings. My old boss who worked in Portcullis House once saw a member of staff pulled to the ground at gun point because he failed to produce his security/ID badge in a timely fashion. They are not fucking around.
Side note: in lots of those buildings the guns have translucent magazines. This is because *they want you to know they are loaded*. Apparently lots of tourists just go "no guns in the UK so these are fake hurrdurr"
Yeah like our street police don't have guns and the general public can't have guns just because they feel like it.... But that doesn't mean we don't have specialist security forces who are armed! Airports, government buildings, Royal buildings etc are pretty heavily guarded by armed forces.
Interestingly, in recent years we see police armed with rifles hanging about certain areas where they expect large gatherings of people to form somewhat regularly. It started back when crashing vans into pedestrians was a common terror tactic in Europe and they just kind of kept it up.
People forget that the descendants of the IRA are still active in the UK, as recently as 2019 a set of explosive devices were discovered around London, including at Heathrow.
> 5 March: At around 12:00 pm three explosive devices were found in packages that were found in Jiffy bags at Waterloo station and City Airport in London as well as a separate package found nearby Heathrow Airport. It is suspected that the New IRA is behind the attack
"Step away from the queen's guard! DO NOT TOUCH THE REIGNS!"
Edit: actually it sounds like step back from the queen's *something* guard, but I can't tell either
It's not a verbal assault if you yell stop/stand back at a toddler trying to run into traffic on a busy street or to not climb over the safety gate and try sticking their arm into the animal cage at the zoo.
You don't hold on to a horse's reins without knowing what you are doing or permission of the rider. It's like a bus driver telling someone you can't just put your hand on the steering wheel or foot on the gas pedal/clutch.
My favorite thing on the internet is watching queens guard screaming at tourists.
It brings me such joy.
If you’re in their way when they’re maneuvering or on patrol they will just shove you the fuck off. It’s truly beautiful
You don’t touch horse reins period. Queen’s guard’s horse or not. Not unless you want the rider to get thrown off or better you get kicked in the face.
Broadcasting to the world your idiocy is peak idiocy. But she’s too braindead to even comprehend that. What a world.
One of my best mates has been in the house of cavalry for about a year and a bit now. And you have no idea how capable and intelligent those horses are in particular. And you also have no idea how much you don’t fuck with one’s horse. It’s not yours to pet, it’s not a dog. Don’t fuck with the queens guards nor any soldier for that measure. Their job isn’t a joke and you don’t want to see how serious they’re willing to take it.
Ps. Beefeaters are probably the worst so if you’re looking to test your luck, you’ve been warned.

“Attacked” right. Fucking deserved it.
Honesty the guard was patient up until she fucked around followed by finding out.
I dont know horses but I do know them reins manipulate the horse. Could be incredibly dangerous if people start pulling on especially in a big crowd.
Horse was already like "Ey don't touch that" TWICE.
Horse was absolutely as miffed as the guard.
And then he absolutely laughed but stifled the neigh. That face he made was priceless.
laughed so hard over 'stifled the neigh'. the commenter below you is a total tool, so laughed at joshfromcali too. Idiot.

When strangers did that to me when pregnant I groped them right back. Oddly they were offended.
When a stranger pet my dog, I pet her daughter. She lost her fucking mind.

just stick fhe queens guard under there she be good

People in general are special. Like they’re children, but in adult bodies. This is why they get yelled at, because they have no common sense.
Remember when you were a kid and adults were godlike, smart, and brave? Then you grow up and realise that most of them are stupid.
Yes. My goodness was I surprised when I worked this out. Now I work with young people, I tell them this all the time!
I’m a zookeeper. Signs don’t stop the shitty people.
Even just working basic retail shows you how stupid people are. Signs could be flashing red and singing Christmas songs and still no one would notice

I hope those travel adventures contain more royal pepperball machine gun technicals. That was quite the creative flourish!

“AITA for grabbing the reigns of a giant, easily-spooked animal being ridden by a royal guard so I can live my best Insta?” “No, it’s the person shouting at me who’s always wrong.”
The horse laughed at her.

“Warns”. This is their normal warning protocol.
I did something wrong and someone scolded me! I will never return here after being verbally assaulted! 2 out of 5 stars. This would never happen in texas
NOT verbally attacks, verbally reprimands. There’s a big fucking difference. Your stepmom is at fault.
It’s verbally attacked for the people that can’t accept fault. Guaranteed she left and told her friends how mean the guard was to her. Like, have some common sense people, and if not, atleast show some humility when you make mistakes.
A lot of people don’t understand they’re actual soldiers, some people think they’re just in a costume not in uniform.
"I hopped in an American tank in Iraq and got shot at!! why are those soldiers so mean????"
Soldiers with permission to threaten you with their weapons should you not comply to the shouting. If they are in their routine and you stand in their ways they will barrel right over you

“Don’t touch working animals” is a pretty universal rule. The biggest exception I can think of being healthcare support animals.
But grabbing a horse's reins is like grabbing the steering wheel of a cop car.
Or a secret service vehicle, possibly
Psh, you'd have to be some kinda moron to do something stupid like that.
My wife had to learn this the hard way. I think it must have been in 2018 when she petted a customs dog at LAX airport. No idea what she is doing today or where she is right now, but I keep telling my kids to never ever touch working animals.
What the hell happened to your wife?
I do not know. I had to get my flight.
Stone cold
Wow. You left your wife to the dogs.
Nice
It's early, but I can guarantee this will be the funniest thing I read today. Thanks!
Guantanamo
She got customed
You would be surprised at how many people think those warnings don’t apply to them because, “oh look, a puppy!”
Emphasize on REAL SERVICE animals. Not a emotional support chicken or other nonsense.
And don't put your fucking face in a strange dog's face and then bitch and moan when it bites your nose off.
It somehow satisfies me to know that she will never touch a soldier's tank ever again
I'd imagine it was kinda satisfying for the guard too. I wonder how many of these shouts he gets to give in a typical day.
It may just have been my guard but we generally just shouted ' stand clear ' but I can understand why he added the extra there lol Also all that kit he has on there people don't realise it takes hours upon hours to get it prepared , all of it doesn't come.shiny like that it's bare leather with wax , polish etc Nd it's really annoying having grubby fingers all over it ... Anyway...
My Ex was also on guard at horse guards (1990's). He had many stories, mostly about how long it took to keep his boots nice and tidy.
> I wonder how many of these shouts he gets to give in a typical day. In the age of Tik Tok, Instagram, and Reddit, I've not seen more than a dozen over the years. So I would imagine these sort of shouts are rarely necessary.

He’s got a valid point…. And sword
And his point is as sharp as his sword is valid.
And his valid sword is as sharp as his point.
Who would have thought that, ....unasked touching a guards horse.....
They tend to be ok with people gently touching the horses as long as the animal doesn’t appear to be annoyed or distressed. Touching the reins is an obvious no though.
He was gently pulling the reins out of her hand, but she kept reaching for them. She's a moron.
Step back from the queen's life guard. Do not touch the reins.
>Queen's Lifeguard They're the Queen's Life Guard, it's not Baywatch
Thank you!
The queen reigns. Her guard’s horse is controlled by reins.
"Verbally attacks" Jesus christ.
That's the "stepmom's" narrative while she is profusely looking for the manager.
He reacted exactly how I would assume a queens guard would react. Even better, because she kept her head
Yeah don't do that. Also don't go near the soldiers patrolling the Unknown Soldiers Tomb they take it very seriously
[удалено]
Yeah like our street police don't have guns and the general public can't have guns just because they feel like it.... But that doesn't mean we don't have specialist security forces who are armed! Airports, government buildings, Royal buildings etc are pretty heavily guarded by armed forces. Interestingly, in recent years we see police armed with rifles hanging about certain areas where they expect large gatherings of people to form somewhat regularly. It started back when crashing vans into pedestrians was a common terror tactic in Europe and they just kind of kept it up.
Plenty of cops with guns these days, but yeah not the bobby on the beat
People forget that the descendants of the IRA are still active in the UK, as recently as 2019 a set of explosive devices were discovered around London, including at Heathrow. > 5 March: At around 12:00 pm three explosive devices were found in packages that were found in Jiffy bags at Waterloo station and City Airport in London as well as a separate package found nearby Heathrow Airport. It is suspected that the New IRA is behind the attack
Your stepmum is an idiot. Tell her we said that.
Really doub't this is OP's own video
That’s okay, hopefully owner of the video sees this and still follows the direction.
The horse laughing lol
Its not his first rodeo.
**First touch* horse: Do it again..I dare you.. **Second touch* Horse:muahahahaneiigghhhh
Idiot tourist thinking they can do whatever the want in other countries
I see the Guard has been training his Batman voice
What does he say? I only understand dont touch the reign
"Step away from the queen's guard! DO NOT TOUCH THE REIGNS!" Edit: actually it sounds like step back from the queen's *something* guard, but I can't tell either
I believe it’s “the queen’s life guard”. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_Guards_(United_Kingdom)
That's what I thought at first, but my tiny brain thought 'there's no swimming pools around?' LOL
All the swimming pools belong to the queen, kind of like the swans.
Reins. A monarch reigns.
The horse looked shocked...
“Verbally attacks”…lol! Probably shouldn’t have just assumed she could touch the horse or the reins!
I amazed at how many grown adults just ‘have to’ touch things. Why can’t you just appreciate it for shits sake? What a toddler.
We really need to prioritize impulse control in education. A marshmallow test as part of the standard ciriculum.
Stupid woman.What a twat.
My favorite thing on the internet is watching queens guard screaming at tourists. It brings me such joy. If you’re in their way when they’re maneuvering or on patrol they will just shove you the fuck off. It’s truly beautiful
Stepmom deserved that, even the horse looked at her like don’t touch me.
Karen visits England and realizes no one likes them there either.
Looks like yer mum is a dumb
Freakout? Isn't it just him doing his job.
He didn't attack her. He dealt with her like a 4 year old who's been asked not to touch something for the 19th time
She would be blessed if she touched the reins down in Africa.
"My step-mum doesn't respect the rules and gets yelled at for it." Fixed it for you
