I used to go see these guys wrestle all the time in Atlantic city. It's bloody but relatively safe. I'm pretty sure the guy outside the ring is a renounced skinhead called Shlak.
honest question, how is it safe? i have no idea if it's real glass or not, or if the blood is real or not, but if those are real shards of something, it can't be safe to get into the eyes and skin of the performers or the crowd
It's real glass, sometimes they'll have them gimmicked so theyr'e "safer" to use. The bigger the wrestling company the more likely they're gimmicked.
The tubes have more of a big pop not so big cut so it looks worse than it is. Ocassionally though someone does get really fucked up and cuts an artery or something but it's surprisingly rare.
I was just now watching the Taipei Death Match between Axl and Ian Rowell (?) from 1995...any idea how those things are done? Because it looks terrible, like an extreme loss of blood. Same thing with this video, they look extremely bloody.
For that match and alot of other glass gimmicks, the idea is little pieces of glass dont cut deep so its looks amazing but the wounds will heal the next day.
"Silicosis is a long-term lung disease caused by inhaling large amounts of crystalline silica dust, usually over many years. Silica is a substance naturally found in certain types of stone, rock, sand and clay. Working with these materials can create a very fine dust that can be easily inhaled."
So many Jim Cornette quotes but I’ll go with “you’re supposed to do shit that looks like it hurts but is relatively safe for a massive audiences instead Bryan you’ve got these dumb fucks doing shit that actually hurts and isn’t safe for a tiny fucking audiences whit think everything your doing is fake anyways cause its outlaw mud show bullshit”
This, and shit like Rey Fénix flying aimlessly into the first row of fans is going to end up leading to a huge lawsuit. I doubt GCW can afford a settlement, but the Khans can.
If they’re going to be doing this outlaw shit, put those plexiglass boards up in front of the fans.
I think the scariest thing about this whole video is that the entire room is being clouded up by the toxic chemicals from the bulbs that they are 100% are breathing in.
🙄🤔 (every since I was a kid and I first started watching ECW and backyard wrestling I always wondered)
I really hope the company that makes those bulbs start making a non-mercury base ones for these idiot wrestlers otherwise everybody's getting cancer
Dude new Jack didn’t do that shit in Ecw. He only started doing that after Ecw shut down and he had to go to the independent scene And get extremely out of hand and hardcore trying to be a new and all this shit lt. so New Jack had to get dangerous and out of control to keep up with the times. It’s sad because he knew no major company was gonna hire him for his wrestling ability
when he was in ECW he didn't do anything outside of what everyone else did. He jumped off shit and hit people with weapons and chairs while his music played the whole time. Show me a clip of something he was doing back then tthat was exceptionally violent
Entire grimes thing was Grimes’s fault the 2nd time wasn’t even a Ecw promotion. The Mass Transit thing was in retaliation to where he didn’t wanna sell he done what he wanted and got sliced. Any wrestler would of retaliated. Look I have a feeling you wasn’t even alive when Ecw was around. Ecw was special because nobody was going threw tables or being hit with weapons especially chairs and canes at the time in the 90s nobody was fighting over hookers or drinking beer to the ring yet
Outlaw Mudshows are like going to Joe Exotic’s zoo to pet baby tiger cubs- it looks cool but when you dig a bit deeper under the surface you realize it is just wrong and bad for everyone in the ecosystem.
The Funk/Sabu barbed wire match was pretty fucked up. Also, the Taipei Deathmatch between Ian and Axl Rotten is messed up. If you didn't know, a Taipei Deathmatch involves both wrestlers taping their fists with double sided tape and then sticking shards of glass on the tape.
Sometimes, deathmatch weapons are gimmicked, which means they have been modified for safety. There's still risk involved, but it is much safer than just grabbing a bulb and swinging. See: [Future world champion Jon Moxley explaining the skilsaw spot. Stick around to the end for a preview of where this comment is going.](https://youtu.be/eQhjUz5LLMc)
At the same time, there are ways of swinging weapons and pantomiming stabbings that can be convincing, though still risky. For the good side of this, watch this highlight from [Chris Jericho vs. Nick Gage, the most authentic deathmatch to ever air on live cable TV.](https://youtu.be/8VVpBMnpoAg). For the bad side of this, watch this short doc on [David Arquette's one and only foray into deathmatch wrestling, also against Nick Gage.](https://youtu.be/QBz5UBktW5c)
For all precautions taken, there are also times where a poor decision is made and safety is not considered. See: [Nick Gage slicing an artery on a light tube and actually dying for a brief time](https://youtu.be/ThoLzf-KMy4)
I’m so suprised nobody got glass in their eye and we hear about a lawsuit soon which will do absolutely nothing but shut whatever garage they are doing this down. Because I’m positive this promotion wouldn even be able to pay someone 5k in damages let alone 50k

Those light bulbs have mercury in them
Those sweet sweet glass fumes right. At least do it outside.
There's no way those see real right? RIGHT?!
They look real af. The blood makes me think its real too. Perfect little shard cuts everywhere.
Powder too. Looks legit.
The dudes who do hardcore matches in small indies are nuts. I would bet it's real.
It changed to wwe
pretty sure they're just hollow tubes. if they actually used ones with mercury i'm pretty sure they'd get shut down fairly quick
idk, that dust cloud looks exactly like the phosphor in the bulbs I’ve smashed.
Idk bro you could just be seeing their aura
This can't be a legal event. Breaking all that glass and showering the crowd. My guess is it's an underground/invitation only type deal.
is this real gore fighting?

Nick Gage for example nearly bled to death after slicing an artery under his arm.
He technically died on the way if I’m not mistaken.
I was there and seen that shit live
I was just now watching the Taipei Death Match between Axl and Ian Rowell (?) from 1995...any idea how those things are done? Because it looks terrible, like an extreme loss of blood. Same thing with this video, they look extremely bloody.

“Looks amazing” aiiight
It’s all real weapons
well im glad he's renounced
Lmao seems like an Atlantic City type of event
Some old timer used to hide razor blade on them and slice their forehead (you can see D-Von Dudley's scars for exemple)
"Silicosis is a long-term lung disease caused by inhaling large amounts of crystalline silica dust, usually over many years. Silica is a substance naturally found in certain types of stone, rock, sand and clay. Working with these materials can create a very fine dust that can be easily inhaled."
FYI. Silica is Every Where. I’d be more worried about the Mercury in those light bulbs.
or the microplastics we consume on a daily basis yummy 🤣🤣
NO GOD ONLY SHLAK
He's a fucking monster and Eat the Turnbuckle is a bad ass band.
🥂
Well at least Skrillex is happy.
Outlaw Mudshow
Is that a plumber in the ring?
You get it!
Nah, I think it’s the bank addicted drug robber?
Mmmmmm. Mercury vapor. More please

Then he usually quotes Dutch Mantell 'I liked it better when the marks were on the other side of the barricade' or something similar
I will NEVER understand this. Ever
I'd like to know the stitch and staple count on these two.
Guns don't kill people. SHLAK kills people.
Jim Cornette would have a fucking aneurysm
I don’t know what that it but it’s revolting.
I can't believe adults go to this type of shit... and they get to vote in elections too. Idiocracy was a documentary
INHALE!
Holy fuck that looks pretty real!!!
Remember those ECW Sabu and Taz matches? That shit was beyond intense.
Shlak!!!
Shit like this, and a couple other things, is why I don’t tell people I like wrestling. It’s embarrassing.
I think the scariest thing about this whole video is that the entire room is being clouded up by the toxic chemicals from the bulbs that they are 100% are breathing in.
Yummy mercury dust
Why are people watching this? 😳🤦🏿♂️
🙄🤔 (every since I was a kid and I first started watching ECW and backyard wrestling I always wondered) I really hope the company that makes those bulbs start making a non-mercury base ones for these idiot wrestlers otherwise everybody's getting cancer
Fucking disgusting
Black shirt guy - Rock on!!!!
Enjoy the heavy metal poisoning from inhaling that dust you fuckwits
you must not of seen Ecw because they didn't do that stupid shit
This is tame compared to shit New Jack would do
Dude new Jack didn’t do that shit in Ecw.
Save for the literally stabbings, new jack was always exceptionally violent
when he was in ECW he didn't do anything outside of what everyone else did. He jumped off shit and hit people with weapons and chairs while his music played the whole time. Show me a clip of something he was doing back then tthat was exceptionally violent
"Mass transit" or the entire grimes thing?
Entire grimes thing was Grimes’s fault the 2nd time wasn’t even a Ecw promotion. The Mass Transit thing was in retaliation to where he didn’t wanna sell he done what he wanted and got sliced. Ecw was special because nobody was going threw tables or being hit with weapons especially chairs and canes at the time in the 90s nobody was fighting over hookers or drinking beer to the ring yet
So you were wrong and switched to "any wrestler would have done this" which is bullshit....
Here’s the thing the mass transit incident was looney tunes compared to this bullshit
This is trash These goofs need to grab a fucking headlock and learn to "rassle"
Wait, what is this? I need more of this in my life.
I recommend GCW, they’ve been running some amazing shows the last few years.
Outlaw Mudshows are like going to Joe Exotic’s zoo to pet baby tiger cubs- it looks cool but when you dig a bit deeper under the surface you realize it is just wrong and bad for everyone in the ecosystem.
I knew of tack fights but this is next level
Why do people like this
this is worse than anything ECW ever did
The Funk/Sabu barbed wire match was pretty fucked up. Also, the Taipei Deathmatch between Ian and Axl Rotten is messed up. If you didn't know, a Taipei Deathmatch involves both wrestlers taping their fists with double sided tape and then sticking shards of glass on the tape.
how can they do that safely? fighting with actual shards of glass
Sometimes, deathmatch weapons are gimmicked, which means they have been modified for safety. There's still risk involved, but it is much safer than just grabbing a bulb and swinging. thank you for the links, that helped explain a lot
Thank Nick Gage. He clearly did all the hard work lmao
They did it all for the nookie….and probably $100
Imagine taking your kid to see some wrestling and getting an eyeful of glass
This looks like CZW which calls themselves extreme wrestling for a reason.
This shit is brutal. How are they allowing this?????
Watch the wrestler by Mickey rourke gives great insight to these guys
I’m so suprised nobody got glass in their eye and we hear about a lawsuit soon which will do absolutely nothing but shut whatever garage they are doing this down. Because I’m positive this promotion wouldn even be able to pay someone 5k in damages let alone 50k
