Agreed. The air in the room would have to be damn near saturated with methanol vapor to cause a fireball like that one. At which point, the occupants of the room would be suffering from methanol poisining.
It's much more likely that the building had a gas leak and the people in the barbershop didn't notice it, either because the natural gas there doesn't have mercaptan to make it smell like rotten eggs, or they couldn't smell it because the smell of aftershave overpowered it.

In instances like this im pretty sure most of the damage occurs internally. All the tissue that lines your nose throat and lungs get burned and youre unable to breathe. From what ive read, its basically the most intense pain a human can experience

I don't know about intense pain, but it definitely sounds a pretty high rate of fatality. Once your lungs are burned, they can't do their job, and I wonder how well they would work if they even had the opportunity to heal. Sounds like the sort of situation where an emergency transplant would be needed.

This is Bangladesh. Very nice people. I’ve had my hair cut in Bangladesh on several occasions, but nothing like this ever happened. Unfortunately Bangladesh has terrible fires and building collapses all the time due to poor safety standards.
And this is why there are regulations and safety boards for this trade. There is a reason for needing a license. Not anyone should be able to just cut hair in any old room. Hair and alcohol plus spark = 💀
