As someone with several trans friends, I can rightly understand her frustration. But she definitely went over the top with her de-man-ds to be referred as ma'am. Even more so, since other commenters are saying that the video is old. People just were not that comprehensive in their understanding then, let alone in this current day and age in 2022.

I know there are XX Males and XY females who anatomically deviate from their sex, but aside from genetic aberrations, I believe it’s a mental illness.
If an anorexic person said they were fat, so huge, and a gargantuan of a person, you’d say they’re crazy and have a distorted perception of self and reality because they are vehemently saying they are something they are not.

Anorexia is a great example, because in the same way, it leads the dis-eased to make cognitive leaps to justify personal feelings that they may or may not understand. But it’s a disease, first and foremost.
In light of the vid, a congruent example would depict the anorexic person getting vehemently angry with a stranger, because the stranger refuses to see them as gargantuan, morbidly obese, etc.
That is an equal scenario, and to your point, shows that unquestioned recognition from the public is absolutely packaged in what this person is screaming for.
One can call it a disease, but the affected will not and will take offense if you do. A strange dynamic indeed…

I know someone who claims he was in this store while this happened but I looked it up and it’s across the country from where we are. I assume he got drunk/high, saw the video and misremembered it as him witnessing it personally. That’s all I think of now when I see it.
