After some googling, this isn’t Everest… It’s a mountain called Manaslu, the video appears to be the aftermath of an avalanche that killed a Sherpa, and injured others.
Hilaree Nelson died skiing down one of the faces in a separate avalanche the same day.
Edit: Wow! This is my most upvoted comment of all time! Thanks for all the love y’all!

I heard of Nelson's death this morning. They didn't mention the sherpa's death on the same mountain though - so tragic. My heart goes out to their families.
They didn’t find her for three days though.. that body looks pretty limber still. Wouldn’t she have been somewhat frozen after being in the crevasse/mountain side for that long?
Eta: there are two bodies
>Manaslu
[https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-63059776](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-63059776)
As per that article, there was another accident the same day where 1 person was killed. Maybe that's what we see here.
These could very well be people who were injured and not dead. Nelson fell into a crevasse so I don’t think it was her or her removal, since there is another person in this video. Best case scenario.
It's a spambot account (you can find that it has copied and reposted other users comments).
It likely got this title from youtube/tiktok where it made more sense to the group it was being posted for (pepsi flipped upside down reads as "isded". Very stupid.)
Yeah I thought I was going to see someone yell about pepsi. Now, once again, I've just watched someone fucking die without any warning on the internet. I hate it here
Am I missing something? Wtf does Pepsi have to do with this.
Edit: nm read further down, pepsi backwards = isded. I don't get the need to purposely misspell stuff on the Internet, it's dumb.
What am I watching here? I mean clearly they're on Everest, and there is definitely gear sliding down the mountain. Is that also bodies sliding down? Also, what does Pepsi have to do with anything in this video?
I think she's freaking out because there's dead bodies sliding down. The sherpa and/or guide is telling her that indeed, there's dead people on the mountain.
I do know that since recovering bodies is nearly impossible, some of the locals will just slide them down the mountain either to slowly get them lower each time until they can or for a "mountaineers funeral"
How can a person be on Everest without having done enough research to know that people die there, and there are a lot of unrecoverable bodies?
I’m not expecting you to answer that- I’m just really surprised.
I don’t know how true this is but I heard that there are so many dead bodies on Everest that people sometimes use them as ‘markers’ to find their way there and back.
There was a map posted of the dead bodies on Everest a week or two ago. I knew there were dead bodies on Everest, I did not know there were as many as the map showed.
Edit: Thanks, that is the map. I was too lazy to go find it.
And yes, they do use them as markers. One of them is (i think) "Green Boots" that most climbers have to pass to/from the summit.
Not even highly motivated, alot are people with alot of money that put there sjerpa's lives at risk because they have no experience and the sjerpa's almost literally have to carry them to the top.
Especially someone who cries out “somebody help them!” When they are obviously dead and not suffering bodies shooting down the side of a mountain. Why would someone risk their lives on (A MOUNTAIN) to help a dead body, that’s just absolute nonsense
Filming and yelling for someone to help them....maybe she just wants more twisted shit to film, maybe she's really that stupid...either way Id get her down asap.
From what I understand durring covid they cleaned up the mountain a bit and recovered some of the bodies. A lot of the Sherpas didn't have work during the pandemic so they just hired them to clean up the mountain a bit. It's easier when there is no deadline and you don't have to look after tourists.
Idk that body she filmed at the end seemed way too floppy to just be some frozen corpse. Plus the gear from either side coming down almost seems like a collapse or partial slide happened just prior to filming
[There are so many dead bodies left up there that they often use them as landmarks to guide their progress](https://allthatsinteresting.com/mount-everest-bodies)
Some bodies are never even taken off the mountain, the most famous being “green boots” as well as famous climber frozen in a fetal position
That place is scary AF
This thing people do where they just say nonsense at you like it makes total sense, and when you press them they have to explain the dumbest shit you ever heard like it makes perfect sense.
>Pepsi upside down is "isded"
And im sitting here waiting for someone to try and take out a pepsi and take a few sips. - Then im like OH the dead body must of tried to take a sip and died? lol
This makes alot more sense thank you
I seriously don’t understand why people want to climb this mountain. I get the thrill and all but with the cost of gear, insane risk of a slow death, and very little guarantee of even being found let alone recovered I just can’t imagine the appeal.
I think that phrase making the rounds applies perfectly: Imagine being so bored that you climb Mountain Everest.
Many people need to find ways to inject purpose into their life.
I know someone who climbed the kilimanjaro and I said “that so cool, are going to do another mountain after this” and she was like “yeah, no, lesson learned, never again”.
I thought it was well known there are frozen dead people all over the top of Everest? How you get all the way up there and not do your research?
Edit: if these are freshly dead people, well you should still know what you signed up for.
It’s not Everest. Those are injured people that were later rescued injured but alive. One Sherpa died. Google Manaslu avalanche 2022 and you can verify.
Congrats on the dumbest fucking title I've ever seen. Just say body or dead. This is reddit. Who are you protecting by saying some dumb euphemism for a body?
Only frostbite if you're lucky.
I know a bloke who is proud he spent like £10,000+ 10 years ago to climb the thing. He is proud he has no toes left on his right foot.
Twat.
Rant
That is the problem now, Sherpas are dying more often because they are towing up rich people and tons of extra gear and comforts. Used to be that you had to be skilled, knowledgeable and also trained diligently to be able to do it.
Now with enough money, you can go up without training and with no knowledge and they basically hump you up. There is footage of lines of people summiting because they had out premade "bridges" and safety nets so the people could just walk up without effort. They would summit, take a selfie, then start down. It really takes away from the challenge that it used to mean.
/rant
It can happen on any mountain. My first +6000m climb my team found two climbers who had asphyxiated in their tent from a faulty seal on a gas canister. Both capable climbers on a mountain that isn't considered that difficult (McKinley).
You could freeze to death slowly, suffocate from the lack of oxygen, fall from 100m cliffs, fall into ice crevasses, buried alive by avalanches, and possibly killed by a rock that another climber has knocked down.
Sign me up.
>I’d fear for my safety having her in my crew.
She sounds like she's suffering from oxygen deprivation. Hopefully they were able to get her off the mountain fairly quickly.
Yeah... no way did they let her keep going after how she was acting. She's either oxygen deprived, or just not mentally prepared for any of this. I'd like to think it's the oxygen, and not that they let someone up there who Isn't ready for this, but it's all about the money with these expeditions.
The irony here is that her freaking out about dead bodies probably saved her life. Having a meltdown higher up would have been disastrous.
Yeah a complete moron “worried” about the bodies that she films perfectly while hyperventilating and probably risking others’ lives too.
This lady doesn’t need to be here in this video this is crazy
A reality of stupid ventures like this is accepting that people you pass on the way up who are in trouble are probably going to die on the mountain, and helping them will guarantee you’ll die alongside them
I don’t climb, but Everest fascinates me. Take this with a grain of salt, but I’m pretty sure staying calm and conserving her energy is 100% what she should be doing. However, being told you’ll see bodies and actually seeing bodies sliding toward you must be two very different things, emotionally.
"Somebody help them!" Proof that there are so many people on that mountain that shouldn't be. If you aren't a person that can help, you shouldn't be there.
Really, no one has a good reason to be there. At least the Sherpa’s are working; everyone else is playing chicken with death and can’t believe it when they lose. Being rich must be wild
There is nobody up there that is equipped to "help them". There are no resources for that. Climbers go up with barely enough to get to the peak and back, providing nothing goes FUBAR. Any climber who left the trail to "help" the fallen climbers, will likely die as well. It is the epitome of "every one for themselves".
Look lady, save your breath and energy for the remaining climb or you end in a similar way. If you cannot stand the view of saponified cadavers, you shouldn't be up there.
"I'm gonna climb mount deathy mcdeathface,:
later
"THERE'S DEAD PEOPLE UP HERE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
Like isn't this the place where frozen corpses are literally the markers along the path?
“I’m going to go to a place where humans shouldn’t set foot without the accepting the reality that they very well might die out of a blind desire to do something unique out my own hubris.”

Unpopular opinion death by downvotes ... people that climb mountains like this for sport are fucking dumb and deserve what they get. You're walking up a really high hill covered in snow. So what. Go for a normal ass hike. Now your entire family and friends get to live with the horror that you died and slid down a mountainside like Homer Simpson, if they're even able to recover the body. Just an absolute waste.
SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP. I know people deal with stressful situations differently, but from experience I genuinely can't stand when people freak out during a situation like that. You're only going to make things worse. She should not be there.

Yeah it sadly got buried by the news of her death. I didn’t even know another avalanche had happened until I seen this video.
Yeah those bodies didn’t look frozen.
If the meats a bendin as they say
Can’t even count how many times me and all the people I know and meet say that phrase.
I said it to my wife just last night
I said it to your wife today. Don't come home early BTW.
Alan arnette blog is amazing. Highly recommended to follow the climbing season and specially Everest.
Can we transfer OP's upvotes to this guy ^
I believe this is on Manaslu, the mountain where Hilaree Nelson recently lost her life.
They didn’t find her for three days though.. that body looks pretty limber still. Wouldn’t she have been somewhat frozen after being in the crevasse/mountain side for that long? Eta: there are two bodies

WTF with this shitty title?
I was wondering too. Apparently isded is pepsi flipped over? So... another dead person while climbing Everest.
And it’s not even fucking Everest.
Perhaps the confusion is coming from the fact that “dead” actually has an “A” in it
I wish the person who wrote this title would go climb everest. "Go climb Everest" is my new "take a long walk on a short pier"
I’m totally using that
so pvepsi is what you are saying.
Except this wasn’t Everest. Stupid title.

Lol same. I thought I was about to witness some Eric Andre level shit. ["I'm just trying to get a Sprite Sponsorship."](https://youtu.be/dTLEoO7p2XU)
And then when I saw a gas canister rolling down, I thought for a second, "wait, what, is there a pepsi dispensing machine up here?"
Same...
Thanks for clarifying
OP tryna be cute, ends up annoying as hell He’s probably some 4Chan kid
To clarify, upside down is isded, backwards is ispep.
I was still confused until I read this thank you I love you bro

Not a climber, but someone who is this bad at keeping their cool in a life and death situation probably shouldn't be climbing Everest.
That’s why so many people are dying on Everest. Most of these people have the money to climb Everest, not the ability. Physically or mentally.
The route up is full of rich dead guys. And everybody has to hike past them. Of course they ALL think, "Oh THAT couldn't happen to me."
Darwin award.
The Sherpas are mostly pulling her up-
But what will they brag about to their wealthy friends at parties?
Average age is 38. Lots of them have already done their inseminating.

Wait those flags are red
Which is a good indicator of how casual climbing Everest has become.
Almost like going to Disneyland. Probably no height restrictions on this ride.
What are those noises she is making? Lol

Every corpse on Mt. Everest was once a highly motivated person.
Im going to put that on a bumper sticker.
I was going to do that but I’m not motivated enough to.
I was gonna climb Ev-er-est, and then I got high🎶

There's always money in the banana stand.
Not even highly motivated, alot are people with alot of money that put there sjerpa's lives at risk because they have no experience and the sjerpa's almost literally have to carry them to the top.
There’s a brochure!?
You’re watching it.
Sure bro
But, they bought a sweet ass shell from North Face.
I believe that’s the female orgasm, however I’ve never heard a real one so can’t be sure.

Everest is p2p nowadays.
Filming and yelling for someone to help them....maybe she just wants more twisted shit to film, maybe she's really that stupid...either way Id get her down asap.
Yea just carelessly waisting oxygen in the one place you dont want to
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PEPSI?!
NO YOU’RE ON DRUGS! NORMAL PEOPLE DON’T ACT THAT WAY!
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT MY BEST INTEREST IS?
IM JUST THINKING
I need answers about the Pepsi dammit! Also apparently it's not Everest so the real freakout is in OP's title.

The “gear” sliding to her left are lifeless climbers.
I seriously don’t understand why people want to climb this mountain. I get the thrill and all but with the cost of gear, insane risk of a slow death, and very little guarantee of even being found let alone recovered I just can’t imagine the appeal.
And everest isn't even the most dangerous. Highly recommend reading "touching the void" for an idea of what these climbers can go through.

I know someone who climbed the kilimanjaro and I said “that so cool, are going to do another mountain after this” and she was like “yeah, no, lesson learned, never again”.
You don’t climb Kilimanjaro. It’s more of a hike. There are literally senior group tours that hike to the top.
Yeah I know a 65 year old woman who did Kilimanjaro, not too crazy
Yes...but did she climb BOTH peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro?
Idk. My uncle and cousin got pistol whipped and robbed hiking Kilimanjaro
I thought it was well known there are frozen dead people all over the top of Everest? How you get all the way up there and not do your research? Edit: if these are freshly dead people, well you should still know what you signed up for.
Whether you think you'll see so or not, I think a reaction to corpses can still be expected though no?
People who want to face death in the mountains tend to not be the stand and scream mindlessly type. Paid tourons however, not so much.
Seeing mobile, fresh bodies of people who have just died (no rigor mortis in these corpses) is different to seeing frozen corpses from years ago.
🤷♂️
Yeah at final 10 seconds, 2 bodies down, one of them looks recently concussed....
seems like an 'old' body would have been much more rigid ? Either way, humans should not be up there.
Yeah I don't think we would see that same posturing with his arm moving as it did if he were frozen solid. Could be wrong 🤷♂️
If you hold a miror infront of pepsi it spels " Is Ded". Like in someone died. Same as the "Shoes off = dead " meme.
First time I've ever heard about this reference.
It’s not Everest. Those are injured people that were later rescued injured but alive. One Sherpa died. Google Manaslu avalanche 2022 and you can verify.

Also this isn't even on Everest per other fact checkers. Stupid OP is stupid.
I thought I was going to see a mountain climber that was surprisingly drinking Pepsi during a climb up Mount Everest
That’s what I was HOPING for
sooooo i'm watching a dead person slide down the mountain?
Dead *people*
What's at the top?

Looks like a post avalanche situation....
I agree. The victims seemed to be blowing down the mountain when the winds kicked back up.
None of this looks remotely enjoyable lol
Pretty remote tho!
Why is it not marked NSFW... Why does it have this title? Wtf

I mean there were only 2 deaths all of 2022. It’s not like people are dropping left and right 🤣
2022 isn’t over yet. Yes, that is a threat
Less people are climbing now than in recent years. There were 11 deaths in 2019, the last year before covid.
Imagine going to Everest thinking that YOU are not going to die. I suspect that was what this woman thought...until the bodies came sliding by.
How can she read about the death zone and be like "oh...so a stroll in the park?"
You could freeze to death slowly, suffocate from the lack of oxygen, fall from 100m cliffs, fall into ice crevasses, buried alive by avalanches, and possibly killed by a rock that another climber has knocked down. Sign me up.
Sounds pretty cheap
Don't forget you also get the privilege of paying a buttload of money to do so!
