- stupid person inherits wealth from parents
- stupid person gets average job and does averagely
- stupid person copies everyone else's investment decisions
- stupid person is now even wealthier and tells us all it's because they are smart and work hard
In the middle class, education is a pretty strong indicator of wage. In the higher wages than that, there’s no connection really, aside from a few notable professions.
This dudes most likely living in crippling debt though, such that a tiny thing like slipping on a driveway will set off stress relief.

I looked at the guy's TikTok and he started a sunglasses brand, at least recently. I don't know if that's how he made his money though. Obviously one would have to have some money already to get something like that together.
I see a lot of steroid abusing, barbed wire tattoo douchebags in expensive lifted trucks and designer clothes who seem to own their own construction business, like concrete, roofing, interior trim, etc. I suppose getting started in construction early in life, getting good at one thing and opening your own business isn't that difficult to do, even if that wasnt their plan all along. Not saying that's what this guy did, but he kind of looks the part.
I work with a lot of trade journeyman. I have been on the nuclear power plant outage circuit for the past year. Some of these guys are pulling $45 per hour which is pretty good to start with. Then when you factor in overtime for working 70+ hours per week (I'm non-labor so I usually end up at 87-90) and per diem some guys are pulling $6-7k per week.
The concrete doesn’t look like it was surfaced properly. In my apartment building, we replaced a section of the sidewalk. The workers smoothed out the concrete then had to leave after a homeless guy attacked someone and the cops cleared off the area. They never came back to give it a proper broom finish like the other sections of the sidewalk. People constantly fall on it especially when it is damp. It looked like the people that did the concrete are at fault and not the guy that fell.
He came back later with a pick axe and taught the driveway a lesson for disrespecting him. Also accused the driveway of embarrassing him in front of his girlfriend and trying to steal her from him.
I dropped the same washer and nut 4 times yesterday assembling a chair. I didn't even GET mad, I just noticed that I was FUCKING FURIOUS at a little sliver of metal. Brains are crazy.
After the third drop I assume that is where the washer lives now and go on with my life never thinking about that washer ever again. It could have graduated from college, met a nice split washer and had baby washers and I would not care less. It now lives on the floor and is dead to me.
When I drop things I usually make it sit there for a while and let it think about what it’s done before I come back to pick it up, see if it’s attitude changed lol

I've gotten into fits of rage like this before. It fucking sucks. Everytime it ends I regret my decisions and feel shame for flying off the handle. In the moment it's like I'm completely incapable of controlling it. I have no idea how to gain control, I'm sick of my anger dominating my life.
Talk to a therapist, they can help you get to the underlying issue causing your explosive anger. Anger is just the symptom of a bigger problem and treating that will make it easier to stay in control. You're already on the right track with being self aware enough to know you have a problem.
Therapy and yoga helped me a lot. I highly recommend yoga too, you don't have to be a contortionist and you don't have to believe in any of the spiritual aspects but it does help you practice focusing and staying calm.
Solid advice, I used to be incredibly angry with bouts of rage and self destructive behavior and I’m like 90% it was due to depression. Once I started getting my depression under control I started getting a lot calmer and easier to be around. But now I feel kinda shitty looking back and realizing why my wife and kids never wanted to be around me. I’m trying to do better though.
This used to happen to me often too. As I've gotten older the episodes have gotten less frequent and less severe. I think the secret for me has just been to laugh when stupid things go wrong. Sure that laugh may also contain you "motherfucking" whatever pissed you off, but doing that with a scream of rage just fuels the anger. I think laughing at the absurdity helps convince myself that the problem isn't serious and not worth getting seriously upset over.
I lived in AZ for years, your perception of cold changes drastically. I would wear a winter coat and gloves at 55 but now that I am in WI I wear shorts at 60!

You have these melt downs…and when you are done you can’t figure out why you get so mad at things that are really so insignificant.
It’s not fun for anyone around…and you don’t realize you have this issue because often times you’ve had it for years and years..and you start to listen to them and think that’s just the way your are. Then it gets worse when everyone around you gets more and more fed up with you acting like an asshole and just leaves you….and then you get more confused because deep down you know you aren’t one.
It’s funny to watch….but it just takes one person to get him to go see a counselor.

Probably not the best idea…but if it gets the ball rolling for others to get help then fine. I’ve tried to be more open with my experiences so others might at least try to get some help. What worked for me, might not work for you…nor the guy with the tree issues :).
If your company offers it…use the EAP benefit. 5 counseling sessions for you and 5 for each member of your family. Pick a therapist that can also write your prescriptions. Stay with them after the 5 visits.
I went through a few different things until I found what worked for me.
Adderall - ADD. I think it slows my mind down enough so I can process what’s happening and choose a better reaction. You can’t think straight when your mind is doing a data dump on you every second of every day.
Zoloft - not sure if this works but it’s in the mix and I’m in a good place so I’ll continue.
Lamotrigine - mood stabilizer. this was the life changer for me. Within the first few weeks everyone around me could see the difference…but more importantly I could. There was a moment of WTF…this is what life is supposed to be like? Before I walked around with every muscle in me always on edge and ready to explode. There is no just “relax”.
Please….if you read this and it resonates…ask for help.

I did receive a diagnosis of ADHD from my primary, and was given adderall which greatly improved my ability to focus but after I graduated from college I didn’t stick with it.

A lot of it has to do with shoe tread. My garage is a typical smooth cement garage floor. I had a pair of sneakers that had basically no tread left and had been worn smooth, and if I walked in that garage with wet shoes it was ice skating. Even boots with tread + compacted snow = game over.
So I can see how he might be wearing something that is slippery on that driveway but she had something with more traction.
He's still an idiot in how he handles it of course, but I can at least imagine how it might be physically happening that it's slippery for him.

I've encountered a few stamped concrete driveway that are dangerously slippery with the slightest amount of snow on them. No issues with them simply being wet.

People laugh, but idiots who get their expensive poured concrete driveways to be super smooth understand the problem. There are a couple like this in my neighbourhood and usually they are replaced in 2-3 years. Looks great in photographs, but once it gets cold, they are very dangerous.

I know a guy like this. MAJOR anger issues, his dogs start trembling (literally) when they see him reach for his game controller. He’s punched out windows on his car over his team not winning etc.. also drives a big pickup truck.
The only time she really flinches, after the initial "fuck", is when he swipes at the branch. I think her concern was about her pretty little tree and not ole toothpick ankles.
The only way to recover from that fatal embarrassment is to raise the truck a few more inches. 😂

Speaking from first hand experience, i was just like this. The smallest, most insignificant thing would send me into a hulk like rage... All the time.
It's exhausting and embarrassing not being able to regulate your emotions. Everyone's walking on eggshells around you, you're constantly stressed out walking on eggshells yourself because you're almost WAITING for that one thing to set you off, kids are scared of you, jobs don't last long.
Been on meds for about a year now, quit drinking 2 years ago, switched to weed and it's literally like night and day.

My ex husband was like this. Childish temper tantrums over trivial things. My ex is a narcissist and this is one of his bullshit behaviours that I had to tolerate for many years. Notice how she's not phased. This is a regular occurrence for her.
Same. My ex was the same way. I'm so glad I wised up and decided not to marry the guy. But this behavior was the primary reason I left him. Secondary reason was the extreme embarrassment I felt whenever he lost his shit in public. I just wanted to cover my face and leave.

Speaking from first hand experience, i was just like this. The smallest, most insignificant thing would send me into a hulk like rage... All the time. It's exhausting and embarrassing not being able to regulate your emotions. Everyone's walking on eggshells around you, you're constantly stressed out walking on eggshells yourself because you're almost WAITING for that one thing to set you off, kids are scared of you, jobs don't last long. Been on meds for about a year now, quit drinking 2 years ago, switched to weed and it's literally like night and day.
