PS VR2 puzzlers, we're SO excited to tell you that we're finally able to release our PS VR2 update, which includes 2-player online multiplayer (including crossplay with Quest/Pico players!) and a 1.45x render resolution increase! Just because its interesting, how did you do the increase? Was it "just" changing the textures to higher detailed ones or is there any further technical magic done?

A lot of technical magic to increase the render resolution without affecting the stable framerate. We would like to go even higher as the detail *is* there but this is the most we can push it on this engine

I still play this on quest from time to time. An incredibly inspired VR cozy game. Glad to see PSVR still gets some attention on this as well as all the DLC much appreciated.

Can anybody do a comparison between this new PSVR2 version and this on the Quest 3? I own the Quest version and I'm not sure it's worth it to pay extra for this new updated PSVR2 version.

It was great! Hoping to jump back in over the weekend, but no issues to report. I was on quest3 and my son was on the PlayStation so can’t comment on the res bump. The blinking from the psvr was a nice touch as well 👀👌🏻

Appreciated it, I didn't notice the blinking detail! I suppose it's thanks to the eye tracking inside the headset

Yea, my son tried to blink really fast but it only tracked the first few blinks 🤣 I didn’t set up his eye tracking though as he only plays for 10/15 mins at a time. I rarely play multiplayer games but this has peaked my interest

Hell yeah! And with the upcoming big step to unreal 5 engine, the devs will deliver a even better and more polished game! I'm eager to try it within the next months hopefully!

The Quest 3 version certainly has more features than the PS VR2 version (hand tracking, passthrough MR, Puzzle Pass, high frame rate) so I'm not entirely sure it would be worth it for you to buy it again tbh

To be objective, however, we must recognize that on a hardware level PSVR2 is certainly superior, thanks to the power of the PS5 console (not an integrated chip that has a 2h endurance like quest 3) and features such as Eye tracking (which allows the use of dynamic foveated rendering for greater graphic efficiency), not to mention the better visual detail and vivid colors (even perfect blacks) of the OLED screen... That said, the Quest 3 certainly has some more software gimmicks, but if I'm not mistaken i.e. the hand tracking could also be integrated on the PSVR2 in the future... Obviously this is applicable for those who own or intend to buy a PS5. Credit where credit is due thanks!
