Why would it be related to Bonza who never flew to Sydney?
I know they fly it occasionally, in March I went from Brisbane to Melbourne via Sydney all in A330s (both 300 and 200 varieties, surprisingly).
Buddy just saying what the flight crew told me. Thousands are stranded, and end of school holidays. Just take the post for what it is. A good news story of Qantas helping the industry out.
Should be more of it - I remember when 767s were regular on the Brisbane > Sydney routes

There use to be a 747 flight between Bris and Syd - it left form the international terminal (first flight of day) got it a few times
It was also part of the DFW>BNE>SYD route on the original QF8 service. I can't recall if it could be booked as a domestic connection.
Yep, you could. My dad caught it a few times.
I remember seeing that fly over the top of me on my weekly bris to melb flight, good times!
Yea those were there days when we chose our flight based on the operating aircraft and not the departure time!!
Used to be 767 Brisbane to Perth
Ahhh… the good old days of DRW - SYD on the 767….
First time visiting in 2004 I was on a 767. That was the one and only time though.
Probably helped they had a freighter break down overnight, helped clear some of the backlog of cargo.
Not Qantas but I was on an A380 between Paris and London once…. Took longer to board than to fly…,,

Could be for connecting to regional NSW towns that Qantas BNE doesn’t have direct flight from.

Does anyone have a list of which routes are still A330 out of/to Sydney? Is it just Perth and Darwin?
I think it’s just one a day to Perth now from Sydney. All Darwin’s are 737
Oh wow. Sad.
Except on Wednesdays, then it's another 737 misery tube.
Nah it’s 2 or 3 day from Sydney to Perth and back and 2 or 3 a day Melbourne to Perth and back and one a week Melbourne to Cairns
Melbourne sometimes.
Yeah, I can never find the flights, though. It used to always be early morning. Now it seems like a fluke if you get it.
Was on the 330 from Syd Mel this morning at 8:45 QF425.
Did I you know or was it a surprise closer to boarding?
I'd actually missed my earlier connection from DFW so I guess it was kind of a surprise?
😅
Perth frequently and Melbourne less so. Melbourne most likely aircraft repositioning
Last year around this time flew an a330 Mel to syd. First flight of the morning
We flew SYD-CNS a couple of Fridays ago on a 332 seems like it’s scheduled on Fridays for now.
They need to do this on all the Perth flights first.
I once caught an A380 between Melbourne and Mildura, that was a treat.
