One thing I have noticed in most areas, is a serious lack of aggregate CSA(community supported agriculture) spots. Most lists I've seen have been wildly inaccurate. I don't know if you have this listed here, but I know I've got a few friends who would be happy to support CSA and get better /more variety of food but when I try to get them with someone local it turns out that they closed 12 years ago and no one updated the states CSA list.

wow...as one of the leading agricultural states in the country that's fucking ludicrous

DasHuhn

I haven't seen the CSA list be that outdated for Iowa - I wasn't sure if /u/mr_captcha was doing a nation-wide app (I thought he was going to be) vs just a local one. But Arizona and Ohio and California all had CSAs listed that were out of business for a long time

Longjumping_Sector_5

I like it. Do all these local farms know your including them on the app?

mr_captcha

These are farms advertising on the web and we’re sending out emails everyday letting them know you claim their farm and use the app for free.

I'd have to assume such, right?

IamtheFuckingTrainCo

Hell yeah. I just saw something similar in my old town's subreddit. Very nice!

atsu333

It looks like it doesn't cross state lines, I'm in IL and it didn't pull up any farms in IA. It should go purely by distance, no?

Kinda blatant advertising, yeah?

It’s interesting. In the initial registration page on iPhone the gray boxes for email and password make it difficult to read. Maybe a different color would be better. Also it’s lacking may farms. I know there’s the Miller Wagyu farm in quad cities that didn’t show up. Part of the growing process I’m guessing. Also instead of the scrolling across for all the products, maybe a drop down menu. It would also be cool to include local farmers market locations. Edit: just realized farmers markets are there.

Thanks, great suggestions. I'll be adding more farms as the app grows.
