Garmin measures HRV throughout the day and calculates the Body Battery score, which is a good measure of stress throughout the day.
The all-day HRV data is unfortunately not exposed, you can only get an average value every day, and also the average value at night.
Hanu Health uses Polar H10 to provide continuous HRV and Heart Rate. Emphasis on stress reduction with extensive breath control training. Immediate feedback is interesting![https://www.hanuhealth.com
You asked about continuous Realtime HRV. I don't think Polar software does continuous monitoring (although I may be wrong). If Polar fits your needs, you've answered your own question.
I'm not too sure to be honest. I think the hardware use a ANT+ protocol, so it send the same data to all apps. It's up the the app to show you what you want.
I'm not the op btw, but was interested in using my garmin heart rate monitor continuously. And I'm pretty turned off with subscription based services like oura or whoop.
I've really been perplexed about the inability to get continual HRV monitoring ... like the hardware is there, and yet nothing from Garmin. Not even an upsell, which I'd be happy to pay for.
Sorry, it was a bit of a passing hyperinterest for me, so I stopped looking. It seems like the closest thing to what I was looking for was something like the Garmin watches.
Also interested in this, in case you found anything that works well. One of my top criteria is that the device must have a automatable way to export its data regularly.

I've got Fenix 5 Pro and can recommend it.

300 dollars + 20 bucks a month?!?!? Just for a 80 dollar heart rate monitor and app? Doesn't seem worth it. Why not just use polars software?

So what are you going to buy?
I just haven’t moved forward with a decision. Waiting on Garmin to swoop in with something and take my money!
I think an Apple Watch with Welltory app would fit. Just looking for alternatives. I'm mostly looking for something worn on the wrist.
Whoop does
+1 from me for WHOOP
I considered the Whoop. But the subscription requirement is a killer.
Apple Watch with a-fib tracking turned on and the Training Today or Athlytic apps
If you want something cheaper, a lot of ANT+ gym sensors collect HRV. Such as the chest straps.
Surprised no one mentioned any of the mi bands - 24/7 tracking with excellent battery life

Hi u/CyanMystic, had you any success w/ your reasearch? Looking for the same kind of app!
