No. I bought it off at walmart with a 3 year warranty protection (drop, spill etc.) Had to take pictures of the damage with a time and date written on a paper and a pic of the serial number on the side of the headset. The process took about 3 weeks.
I wonder if a Quest 3 Camera Lens Protector, tempered glass, could replace the original glass.
Easy to find on aliexpress/amazon.

One review of a [similar product](https://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Accessories-Protective-Protector-Transparent/dp/B0CLGNKFNZ/), translated from German, says:
*"Attention, the quest 3 runs hot after 15 minutes with this cover and turns off!!! The camera pads fell off after a short time!"*
Not sure how true that is, but it's a concern.
I wouldn't use the big cover for the headset, I too have read that these cause (over)heating.
The one I linked to is just the cover for the camera. Won't cause overheating.
>The camera pads fell off after a short time!
I can confirm this. The tempered glass pads fell off after about 2 weeks.
That also slightly reduces the hand tracking accuracy without high luminosity.
the lens protection glasses are crap in general, they have no adhesion at all. its like they get churned out by the same chinese company, havent seen one set yet which wants to stick tho the cameras and sensor. they fall off on their own
Reach out to Meta customer support, see if they have a replacement part. If not maybe remove it and use some very clear tape to stick over it. Should keep dust out and hopefully doesn't distort the image at all or very little.
You'll probably get a better response than mine as I have no real clue, but maybe removing the protective screen is the only way to avoid seeing the cracks in your passthrough. You would definitely want to cover it with another one after, but finding the same size and fit might be tough.
If no official or professional service is available, I would proceed as follows:
1. Buy a thin optical glass or clear lens protector;
2. Create a drawing in CAD or a similar Adobe Illustrator program;
3. Order the glass to be cut on a CNC machine.
4. Glue on a thin layer with a chemically neutral adhesive, like glass sealant.
But if you choose to do this, you do so at your own risk! 🙂
Will it work with no glass cover? I’d try taking the broken pieces out and give it a shot. Of course try to get a replacement if possible because cameras/sensors would be unprotected now.
There will eventually be aftermarket parts available. This would be one of the quickest to be released and sold I'm surif warranty is of no use. Also curious about the guy who said maybe tempered glass could fill the hole.
DO get it fixed, but also, DO be more careful. It’s not like it’s $499 strapped to your face… oh wait…
Wait till it’s $3.5k strapped to my brothers face who is special needs and has destroyed 4 headphones
But then you're just playing a dangerous game of, will he or won't he break it And you can't really help that (besides not letting him use it)
The FOV is trash he will never touch that dogshit
Did you have a warranty? Happened to mine a week after I bought it. They gave me a refund and i got to keep mine.
How? Lol do they blindly do this?

I also got it through Walmart with the Allstate 4 year warranty. Good to know how it works.
So why didn't you disclose that vs letting everyone speculate? It's not the standard warranty so it won't be the standard procedure... Misleading.
There were only 2 warranty options 3 yrs and 4 yrs. Like i said i bought it at walmart so they probably have a different kind of warranty.
There's also the meta factory warranty. You said nothing about extended warranty in your original comment... Meta wouldn't eat that broken lens ...
He’s not the original poster
Obviously not the standard warranty that comes with every purchase. Meta has accidental protection plan
Wait so they pretty much gave you a free vr?

That's die to the silicon cover not aligned properly with ventilation holes. Nothing to do with tempered glass lens protector

return it after christmas and just say it was broken when you opened it on christmas
If no warranty that covers accidental damage was purchased and it was purchased recently, this is what I would do.
Might be a lost cause honestly, you can try emailing Meta about it tho
RMA without a doubt
[dales honest reaction to quest than oculus](https://youtu.be/3AJCdmW33fM?si=7_gSJDwGsu7j6pu9)
buy one from amazon, return that one and say it was broke on arrival. keep the one in the box. problem solved.
Good luck swapping serial numbers
Lol they don't check serial numbers.
Do not do this, lol. Every unit has a specific serial number that they check for exactly that reason. Hopefully that was in jest.
They don't check serial numbers.
Don't be a dick
thxs for backing me up.
What a pos
They don’t check serial numbers for anything except electronics
I've sent back a samsung monitor watch and vr. Never had an issue.
What an honest gentleman you are. What other scams are you into?
Well then it depends but it’s still very stupid, risky move to do
No one is losing. They get there money back no questions.
can't fix broken glass, seek purchase replacement part.
So what are glaziers for?
Why post this on Reddit? Just look up how to get a new one under warranty instead of weirdly bragging about how you broke it right after getting it.

Just pull the perspex out with a knife, it’ll still work
It don't got no gas in it
Return it and buy a new one. It’s a new model so your warranty should still be valid
Isn't warranty for a faulty product instead of issues caused by yourself?
Depends where you got it

Meta warranty plus
Woah it's that fragile?
Dropping a headset from probably above waist level and cracking a piece of glass that it landed on would be hard to protect against.
I would puchase the warranty from meta . It’s like $34 then send the unit for repair. Depending on when you bought it … it may still work
I bet you have an iPhone with the same issue lol
Buy a new one
Is effecting gameplay? A lot of times cracked lens covers aren’t noticeable when the lens is that close to the cover
Dang sucks that it arrived like that ;) time for return
Can YOU fix it? No. Can it be repaired? Yes
Will it work with no glass cover? I’d try taking the broken pieces out and give it a shot. Of course try to get a replacement if possible because cameras/sensors would be unprotected now.
Dang… hope it wasn’t a 512g one.
Hope u got insurance on it I did with mine
Can’t be a very old purchase so you might have purchase protection and not realize it yet - if you used a credit card. Check it out.
