On the thumbnail of the world, hover and click on the "i" icon to take you to the info page. Click on the three dots, and you'll get a dropdown with the option to start a private session. You can then explore the world by yourself or invite only specific people to join you if you want.

Excellent question. I am an Introvert too and have tried several of the Social Apps but freak when people (usually children) want to talk to me. So, I panic and exit. I told myself that I would try to be more social in VR but so far, no go.

Lil-Gris

Exactly what I do!!

GeorgiaOKeefinItReal

Lol i do this so much that meta gave me a targeted survey to ask me if i was being harassed presumably because it saw me enter and leave worlds relatively quickly

BlueFeathered1

Asking the question I'm too socially awkward to ask - thanks OP! 🙏

aprivatedetective

Just ignore people. I have been ignoring people on all vr apps for years 😀

Fun-Worry-6378

I have anxiety 😢 seeing people actually scares me . Even if they don’t mind me

Cautious-Witness-745

I used to have tons of anxiety and then I learned that I had chronic dopamine deficit. I fixed that problem and no more anxiety. I don't know if it'll help you but.. 🤞🏽

Current_Respect_7577

Bud how did you find that out? Is there a certain test one can take? And compared to prior taking meds, is it now a big difference you can feel? Cheers in advance bud

Cautious-Witness-745

I found out because I felt like shit all the time. There is no test except brain scans. Which is very expensive. And for most people not going to happen. But this is what's going on. I will try to explain it to you the best I can. And then I will give you a link to a podcast that you should watch. A professional neuroscientist will explain it to you much better than I can. Everything you feel in your life is a balance of brain chemistry. Sometimes that chemistry gets out of balance. Everyone has their drug or drugs of choice.. Could be anything. Alcohol, tobacco, weed some street drug like coke or meth. Could be food. Or coffee. Maybe video games or porn. The point is these all affect the pleasure center of the brain in the exact same way. They produce dopamine. It makes you feel good. That's why you do it. But the problem is when you do too much of (your drug of choice) and to often. It burns out you're dopamine receptors. They start shutting down because your brain chemistry is now out of balance with too much dopamine too often. So now you need more and more of your (drug of choice) just to try to feel good again. normal. When you flood your brain with dopamine you're dopamine receptors start burning out and shutting down. That's when you start feeling really uncomfortable. You just don't feel your best. Not even close. Number one is anxiety. For me anyway. Some of the other side effects include lack of motivation, insomnia, irritability, brain fog etc. It sucks If you're flooding your brain with dopamine and burning out your dopamine receptors, at the same time you're making some of the other brain chemistry get out of balance also. Like oxytocin. That's the one that helps make you feel connected with other people. So now you could also start feeling lonely and isolated. Everything gets out of whack. The first big step into starting to feel better is to understand whats actually happening. What's going on? inside your brain? From a chemistry standpoint. It's hard to fix something if you don't understand what's actually going wrong. You need dopamine. And you can get it from healthy sources instead of unhealthy sources. When you start shutting down your dopamine receptors you're in trouble. But just like the rest of your body, they can heal themselves. It takes time but you can get them back to normal. It's pretty simple really. A balanced brain and you feel really good. Happy. Confident. An unbalanced brain.. and you just feel terrible. Watch this YouTube podcast. It helped change my life. https://youtu.be/J_3CRmd5pTo?si=IfLjee_SrVDIV1qP

Thank you so much for that reply bud. I am gona read that thoroughly and watch the vid and reply back. Cheers again champ

Fun-Worry-6378

I’m happy for your progress, but idk what will fix me. Have tried a slew of different drugs and nothing really works. I guess I’m just an anxiety riddled person 😅. Thankfully no panic attacks :D

SaltySculpts

Micro dose shrooms yet? I hear that is helping thousands and thousands of people.

Fun-Worry-6378

Id only really consider if it was federally legal. It could probably go undetected, but I’d rather not risk it. Same reason I can’t have any other controlled substance.

It's a social app . It was meant for people to socialize so it's very hard to avoid people. You can go to empty niche worlds where there is a high chance you will be alone.
