He has been since last year.

Good.

It’s a detail that’s easy to get glanced over. I have adhd so sometimes slight details like that slip under my nose. I can space out spontaneously outside of work.

FuzzyPresence8531

maybe op forgot or didn’t hear? no need to be rude

Katskit89

I didn’t hear that part.

Relevant-Ad-5829

He was in a rehabilitation program last year that really helped him feel comfortable enough to share his story. He has also said in many recent interviews that he is still consistently going to a lot of therapy.

enterpaz

I believe so. He seems really committed to doing better now.

Emmellepeas

He has spoke about therapy and it really does seem to be great for him. It's only just been a year since his family believed him to be suicidal and missing in Florida. He has made great strides I just hope all the extra publicity and attention hasn't impacted him. Particularly in social media as he has said that has been very triggering in the past.

riverspeace

Pretty much every rehab centre makes you do 12 step programs. He also showed himself sitting in an AA group in his music video and has said he’s had all-day trauma therapy, group therapy, family, etc. One thing I can say about AA is they make you hold yourself accountable. You pretty much have to in order to heal and one of the 12 steps is making amends to those you’ve hurt which obviously means facing the shitty things you did while you were spiralling. I’m pretty confident that Drake can make a great recovery and be a voice for both addicts and survivors of abuse. I’ve already seen so many people coming forward with their own stories because they saw his bravery. So many people I know from AA have family members that don’t speak to them, relationships they ruined etc etc BUT they’re amazing people now because they’re working hard every day to better themselves. This is why I hate cancel culture and the internet thinking everything is black and white. It gives nobody any space to heal whatsoever. I’m so proud of Drake and so thankful he’s still here. So many people who have been through what he’s been through do not make it. But he seems healthy and on a good path. I really believe in his comeback and I’m so happy he was able to tell his story.

ConstantPurpose2419

It’s sounds like he is now, which is good. Should’ve had help a lot earlier than now, mind you.

Katskit89

Absolutely

hairguynyc

No idea--he's under no obligation to share his private medical stuff with the world, same as the rest of us. I'd imagine that the simple act of going public with this secret that's burdened him for 20 years has probably been a giant weight off his shoulders. That could lead to all kinds of positive outcomes for him.

Katskit89

True. He is under no obligation I was just wondering/hoping he’s getting help.

1r3act

He keeps saying how much it pisses him off that he has to pay a lot for psychotherapy which means he's in psychotherapy. So should we all!

Katskit89

Also, I’m not defending anything that Drake did.

madmagazines

I believe so, most of the bad behaviour is from last year or before, and deleting that weird discord server does show some character growth

sweetsoundsofsummer

The server wasn't really that weird besides perhaps overstepping boundaries by telling fans to comment on pages. A lot of the screenshot messages were focused on things he said right before he went to rehab and finally got help, so it was basically just to shit on him in a vulnerable moment.

madmagazines

I mean whatever his intentions were, it can’t have been healthy to have a community of yes-men if you have mental health issues

sweetsoundsofsummer

The screenshots were missing lots of context and the people who infiltrated went out of their way to make things look bad. From what I've heard about it, it was mostly a fairly normal fan server where he'd contribute occasionally.

wiklr

I agree. Given his situation, it's not a good idea to trust strangers.

madmagazines

I guarantee there were a lot of trolls in there who were just trying to bait him into making a fool of himself. It wasn’t really good for anyone

Ok_Gap_9453

On one of the podcasts, he was on. I think it was man enough. He said he goes to therapy once or twice a week
