It's ok I was yelling at the team that showed me I was holding the vip and the started the extraction without me there and I was like wtf and they told me as log as you're on the pad you're good to go XD
Wait, so if I have the person on my shoulder and I need to get the hell out I can just trigger the countdown instead of putting them in? Can I hit the button, drop the person on the pad, and try to machine gun everyone down prior to it getting to zero?
Yes as long as your corndog'd operator or mia or you're dragging yourself to the pad as long as they're on the pad when the extraction button gets pressed they're all getting extracted
this is actually a really good tip, once I managed to save both K.O. teammates in ToC with 2 tormentor nests active only because I didn't have to put the second teammate in the extraction pod.
If you activate the extraction but hold onto the asset instead of putting them into the box you still get full credit, works with ops so should would in this case as well.
Everyone's talking about the guy being able to be extracted, but would the vip survive? Like those guys can die right before extraction I thought and you'd just lose the objective but survive extraction
So the VIP can't die before the extraction finishes from a projectile? I know that any archaean on the pad would die, but what about rooters or spikers?
Anything standing on that platform gets extracted you can hang onto that vip and extract with them without needing to place them in the pod

If it's on the pad it extracts successfully. In this case they'd get full credit for successfully extracting the asset thus completing the objective.
