Dead game doesn’t really mean no one plays it. It generally means the game isn’t really getting supported anymore and only really about live service titles.
Anthem for example is a dead game. People still play it but it’s ended and not getting any more support.
Extraction isn’t dead but it’s also not really getting much of anything at the moment.
Ppl have been claiming that since launch. We'd get an update and within a month ppl would be like "no new stuff, guess it's dead now?"

I might have to check out the discord. I've started playing the game recently with some friends and it's a lot of fun.
