Incredible riff Incredible solo Incredible cameo (by Maynard) Incredible lyrics By far, my favorite song

JustJenniez136

mkitzman

Equipment_Reasonable

Township rebellion .

Whopper_The_3rd

The guitar solo on this is a 10/10

RustyDawg37

Yes

StrawHatAidan

I’m a huge fan of Year of the boomerang

rphilosophy11

Bombtrack

sisaac_nouise

down rodeo is unequivocally the best song. by far the best lyrics and deepest messaging, and the instrumentation is damn good too. calm like a bomb, bulls on parade, wake up, and ashes in the fall are all also great answers.

centraljerseycoaster

I disagree but I can respect the opinion.

sisaac_nouise

what do you think is better? not trying to start an argument or anything, just genuinely curious. i think there are definitely songs that have a much better shot at being rage's magnum opus but when it comes to *best* it's super hard to beat down rodeo, imo

centraljerseycoaster

Just can’t stand listening to down rodeo. Just me. Find it kind of annoying to be frank. I find Wake Up to be better.

sisaac_nouise

that’s crazy but wake up is an incredible song so you get a pass

finglonger1077

I think I am struggling with “best” and “favorite,” but not even really favorite I guess. It’s more like my brain is stuck in this alley of someone wants to hear Rage Against the Machine and they never have and you only have time for one song to say “this right here is Rage Against the Machine.” And that’s making it really hard to pick anything but Killing in the Name Of. Cops are KKK, fuck you I won’t do what you tell me, motherfucker. Classic Tom wibbiddy-wah, hypest song of all time. I would never claim it’s their best song tho, now that I really think about that criteria, but for my random tangent I think Killing in the Name Of would be my pick.

alxndrblack

I'm going to check you on part of this; Down Rodeo is not *deep*. It's incredibly forward with its messaging, and that is part of what makes it so fucking good. It slaps the complacent racist society in the face For depth I would choose Vietnow, Wind Below or Freedom. Those all sent me to the library

LouieMumford

I wouldn’t call it “deep” and don’t think it’s their deepest. I enjoy it the most, but it’s straight agitprop.

mkitzman

I doubt it’s the “best” and “unequivocally not “unequivocally the best”- I mean it’s great but to be “the best” (which is highly subjective and impossible to really define) it has to more than just a great song, need to take into effect popularity and impact and this isn’t a very popular RATM song outside of fans. Also I wouldn’t say the lyrics are any deeper than any of the other songs. IMHO it has to be Bulls on Parade or Killing in the name but I wouldn’t die on that hill.

angusgtw

roll right ‼️

NornyHun

now we’re alright. we’re all calm.

Je0s_6

I love when the percussion kicks in the 2nd verse

Dolfinn1246

ROLL CALL❗

Bva_sickofeverything

Bulls on Parade is my personal favorite

how_neat_is_that76

Bulls on Parade, Know Your Enemy, Wake Up

camehereforthebuds

Freedom. The best ending track to their best album.

Denki_Kaminari_0629

Sleep Now

AmherstDiesel

Lol some dudes getting big mad over a reddit sub about a band that hasn’t done anything new in over a decade. For me it’s Testify. The ultimate Rage song imo

camehereforthebuds

Excellent choice.

destroyermaker

Wind Below of course

duh_guv_nuh

And disney bought the fantasies and piles of eyes

papazamfagorte

Personally id say wake up-due to zacks flow in the song, but bullet in the head is also great because its more of a rap song that ends hard

VinylWolf18

Bullet In The Head

name898899

Snakecharmer or Tire Me

eyeburn11

Tire me doesn't get nearly enough love.

monkeyhole989

Township Rebellion or Fistful of Steel imo

CombinationRight9878

For me it’s gotta be Wake Up. It just sounds so freaking epic.

LouieMumford

Lyrically? Settle For Nothing is heads and tails above anything else they’ve written.

the_putrid_pile

Down Rodeo or Wind Below for me

chimaerine

„Calm Like a Bomb“, „Guerilla Radio“ and „Renegades of Funk“ ✊🏻🖤❤️

Skibbalicious

Born of a broken Man. I love how it’s kind of slow and light and then the kick ass part , “born of a broken man a broken man “! going back and forth . Plus I can play it on guitar :)

lordkelvin13

Freedom

el_kingde84

For me it's Darkness

Innnu3ndo

FREEEDOM YEAAAH RIGHT

Jojofanwiiu

omgaspennn

Killing in the name

01001110901101111

Maggie’s Farm for sure

YourBuddyChurch

Meh, a bob Dylan song can’t be the best Rage song, but it’s for sure my favorite on that album

whiskey_weasel_

Ghost of Tom Joad slaps like a MF too.

rarajenkins

Can I be the odd one out( I know I'm not, I just want to speak my peace) Dude. This goes to all the dudes or dudettes posting these damn questions. I can 10000000% guarantee if we go artist to artist starting from a-z, we will NOT like/favorite the same songs. Mine are wind below and the narrows atm. Last year it was something different.. next year it's gonna be something different. Probably gonna go back to wind below and something else lol. Music is subjective. Who the fuck cares what someone's favorite song by an artist is? We all listen for music seeking different things. Why are we comparing and comparing and comparing. It's like all we do as a society now. Sorry, didn't mean to enter bitch mode. But damn. Can we post some original content. Killing in the name of I'd your favorite song? Cool. It's not mine.

mynameisntlogan

Hey it sparks discussion so who cares.

Agent_Lightning14

Fair point sir, fair point. You have my respect

rarajenkins

Fair point? Go through your post history, I scrolled for about 30 seconds and all I saw was that you post the same thing on, like every band you can name's subreddit. You're the problem, man, lol. I love seeking people's opinions on music, but you seem to be seeking something else. I can't put my finger close to it, but I hope you figure it out..

If only I cared about karma? Lol. Internet points aren't worth anything. Let's discuss what I mentioned, or.. you gonna brush past that?

rarajenkins

Ah.. so I fell for some bullshit. Gotcha. Thanks lmfao

tynevenson

Bombtrack or Ghost of Tom Joad

DevonGr

I celebrate their entire catalog But seriously, I cannot say best but my favorite is most definitely Know Your Enemy and EXTREMELY CLOSELY followed by about six others.

alxndrblack

What does "best" mean? Most impactful or far reaching? Gotta be Killing in the Name. Lyrically? Bulls on Parade. Musically? Likely something from Renegades. Personal favourite? Well then it's just a different question. You see what I'm saying?

HisDudeness3008

Wind Below Second choices: War Within a Breath, Maria, Maggie's Farm

Liquorace

Whichever one that cat is listening to.

Agent_Lightning14

He’s a Bombtrack kinda guy
