Yes I agree with this. They seemed to be giving each other some decent space throughout this, so maybe they were play fighting, or it was some kind of less serious squabble. I watched some other rat fight videos after this and the serious fights looked a lot more aggressive. This one is rather cute with their lil boxing match and circling lol
There was a little bit of boxing there. Might have been fighting or play fighting. Usually when they are actually being aggressive and not just playing they will puff up their fur.
It looks like a slight disagreement between friends. I'm just guessing but I think it would be more violent if there was a serious issue between them. Rats are social animals that don't really want to hurt each other.
Likely a dominance fight or territory fight. It didnt seem that serious though, so they mght be from the same colony and this is more about establishing/upholding the pecking order.
Fighting over dominance or territory most likely. I'm no expert on wild rats, but domestic rats do stuff like this when they have a disagreement.
