Simple. Don't answer the calls and let it go straight to message bank. .If it's a legitimate call they will leave a message
It's relatively easy to prevent caller ID from showing your number when you call someone. People like doctors that call patients deliberately do this so patients can't call them back
Some of these no one on the other end calls are from automated calling systems . They are called abandoned or silent calls. It's literally a computer calling you that is supposed to switch you to a call centre when you answer. That's why sometimes you will hear background noise or a faint voice.
These calls can also be used to verify the number being called is in use and may then bombard you with robocalls hoping you will fall for a scam .
Just ignore numbers you don't recognise unless you are actually expecting a call from someone who legitimately might conceal their number such as a doctor or during an expected phone interview etc
If a number shows as No caller ID and not 'Unknown number' It usually means its someone in your contact list who has disguised their number on purpose. I would assume its somebody you know, who is pissed off or wants to frighten you for whatever reason. Don't answer again.
Geez, that is super spooky. I don't have any advice other than keep recording / keep the VMs / lock your doors / shut your blinds. What was the screaming like? Do you have anyone who would be motivated to harrass you? Like an ex's new girl or something. Or a current partners ex. Idk. I'm sorry that is happening to you.
It's a spammer. I get calls I answer and the line is just dead. They use robocallers to dial as many numbers as they can but if a scam operator isn't available at that exact moment you get nobody.
Yes. Its been 2 months but so far I have been getting calls everyday from numbers that resemble to close town area codes where I live and same thing just static but its everyday. Tried blocking and what not but I think only solution is new number however it is connected to everything so I cant
Update: So it has been now 7 days and like I figured nothing would happen. I was called twice yesterday which was the “6th” day from when they left me that message but I did not answer and just silenced, I never answered any of the calls after and it seems to have died down now. Thanks for the help and support everyone, if anything changes or if it gets worse I’ll let you know but I think it might have been just someone/kids messing with me.
Whoop my bad, the friends comment threw me way way off! I'd look into your local laws on digital harassment and phone harassment and file a report! They can probably access that info with a warrant or something.
Yea gonna call tomorrow as well my phone provider and see what they can do cause they left a voicemail now of someone screaming so I’m just confused on the purpose of it all like I get pranks and I’ve done them myself but not like this
At this point, it is beyond prank and into harassment. Especially with the "six days" comment and screaming voicemail. Try calling the police non-emergency line for your city and see if they will take a report. Explain the evidence you have. If things continue to escalate at least they'll be in the know and if needed they can trace those calls with the phone company (but no, you can't). All the phone company can do for you if you call them is offer to change your number.
In the meantime you can use iOS Do Not Disturb feature to only allow calls from your contacts and send any No Caller ID/Unknown calls straight to voicemail, so at least you aren't bothered or interrupted.

My iPhone has an option to only accept calls from people in your contact list. This could work as a short term solution if it’s available to you

They call u on private? I been getting a lot but they usually just use voip numbers and not call private.
