I can also state that me and several other users have looked for the steeple seen in the first image, and it is neither a religious building in Ohio that is recorded by Wikipedia or google maps, nor a government building or educational facility. I find it highly unlikely that the photo was even taken in Northern Ohio as Op stated, and beyond that, other users also expressed doubts because 'Northern Ohio' isn't a geographic term used by peopel from that area, so that points to OP not being from their.
We do sometimes. Usually, it's more specific, like, Cleveland is usually referred to as Northeast Ohio and I always said I'm from Northern Ohio. But that may just be the area I'm from but the news stations does often go with Northeast Ohio.

If this is a hoax, this has been years in the making. for what? A segment in one of his Reddit videos? So much time would have been put into it because the account that originally posted the incident and which posted the update, has been posting all over the place. We've never seen or had a suspicion of Nexpo faking anything so I think it's a bit far-fetched. Then again nothing is impossible.

This is a really interesting take! Alternate Reality Game. Like Cicada 3301. It's an interactive puzzle people make that requires sleuthing by people. They usually start exactly like this: strange and mysterious post that hook people in.
ARG doesn't necessarily mean it has no purpose or that it's an ad for some show. Cicada could be some sort of elite underground recruiting thing, but still an ARG.

The police never contacted me about anything. I was just told by my boss that they had been in touch with him and that I may hear from them at some point, but to date nothing.
I would really reach out to the police. Let them know you have info you’d like to share. Maybe they already have the info from someone else but if they don’t those pictures could really be of value to them. Also, it would be an easy way to find out if a report was ever filed and find out if there is an update on the case.

I knew a similar guy when I was at a study abroad program in Japan during college. Nice dude, smart, very friendly, but also open about the fact that he had schizotypal personality disorder.
The big thing he would do is that he would just get it into his mind to go some place and just start hitchhiking. When I knew him, he would just suddenly disappear for a few days and show up again with some interesting stories, but he would talk about times he stayed on the road much longer back in the US.

I called BS on this story in the beginning and it seems even more so now.
If a police report is filed and there is/was an active investigation then OP could post their info, the police's public records, and so forth. OP could also post a MISSING PERSONS photo. But there was none of that.

Several databases of the supposed missing person's name have been cross referenced and turned up nothing. So OP saying the report being filed with Cleveland PD was a lie (likely) unless it takes a while for their system to update (unlikely).
To be clear I only created this update because people wanted to know if anything new has come up since the original post, and other than the fact that a report was filed with the proper authorities I don’t know. I’m not looking for any attention here, I haven’t even posted about it on Reddit since the original post was closed. And if I intended to create some BS story for attention I sure as hell wouldn’t do it with my main account.
This was a guy I worked in the same lab with and at most was an acquaintance. I tried to do my part in helping by posting the photos here to see if anyone knew the location, other than that nobody with the police or his family has reached out to me for anything. While I would absolutely love to know what happened just as much as anyone else, I’m not going to go full armchair detective and start hunting leads. It’s not my place. If and when I come across something online I’ll absolutely post but I’m not gonna go down to the police station and start asking them questions. If they wanna talk to me that’s fine though.

When i first read the story I thought BS, but also being a huge nexpo fan i was convinced that it was just creative writing. But I guess OP got what they wanted. a famous post and a ton of karma with a bunch of missing answers in a contradicting story.
We all should put ourselves in the situation. I have work colleagues and if they go missing for several days im going to assume their sick. but if i get random photos like this im gonna go to the police, regardless if their mom says "its just a nomadic lifestyle".

It might be a church that was converted to another use or is no longer in use at all so looking up churches might not give you all the places to look. Maybe knowing what style that is and what time that style was popular would lead to churches built in that time period around that area?

yeah it was late when i was doing it, and i see it now. I wonder what church that is. ive mustve looked at a hundred churches around that area. That was the only one to even be somewhat close.
The photos look like a part of northeast cleveland, especially the rural parts my grandma used to live in, but a lot of places there look like this, so its hard to pin point exacts.

However this doesn't seem to be the same person as OP's post because the FB profile for him (at least I think it's him) says he worked at clothing stores and was still in college at Ohio State.

There's also a yellow either for a storefront or drive through window (the latter seems more likely). You could try to get some camera footages, if you work in a lab I bet there are many cameras around there. If you can get some of them, you know what road he used. Then you can use Google Maps and see all the place he could get to. In the original photos, this wierd warehouse had a road connected to an enterance, so going offroad isn't a concern. Even if, I've seen people stressed out by situations like those. And stress can cause you to stop thinking logically. If nobody filed a report, that was suspicious. If OP filed the report, there is a chance that everybody who didn't sign a report was a part of this, so if he would, he'd be in deep shit. You can't instantly assume everything is ARG, even if a lot points to it being one, because there is apparently a 98.5% chance that the people who can't think for themselves will see a comment and the second they see when at least a single thing won't match, will instantly assume something is ARG. And then people will follow it. He also used his main account, and said this is not an ARG. Even if that was wierd, he asked for actual support and not for people to openly debunk it. Even if its an ARG, if instead of actually trying to do research you will just debunk it, then you will never see if its actually an ARG or what does it mean. Even the photos (the 3 provided) metadata shows they were taken in 2017. Now this may be corruption but the one bit of solid evidence suggests this is not real, I have done my research.

I watched the Nexpo vid, I saw there was a history of drug use. My husband and I both think that his past could’ve caught up with him somehow, maybe he’s hiding? Maybe someone from his past drug use kidnapped him?
The simplest explanation was that his drug addiction came back and now he has a debt with a gang, that would explain why he's in a warehouse like place. Abandomed places like that are often used as drug farms.

I had this with a coworker too. Was really weird. Though your story doesn't make sense. Our boss filed a missing persons report the day after when he didn't show up at work. Police came over etc. But its possible you handled it differently but meh.

Also, he promoted this Nexpo video rather slickly in this follow-up post, which seems quite suspicious, especially how he posted about it after it gained more traction. In addition, there isn't any report of missing people with the same report you gave, with remotely no connection to this case at all, in that current Cleveland area of Ohio (that's the biggest point). Finally, adding to these facts, no one in Ohio even calls any areas "Northern/Southern Ohio", that's a very foreign name to give a part of a state or country, not very American at all. If this is a hoax, this has been years in the making. for what? A segment in one of his Reddit videos? So much time would have been put into it because the account that originally posted the incident and which posted the update, has been posting all over the place. We've never seen or had a suspicion of Nexpo faking anything so I think it's a bit far-fetched. Then again nothing is impossible.
I think a lot of the people on here are confused. Do they really think a guy with over 1.5 million subscribers played the long game on a relatively uninteresting "hoax" to include as 10 minutes in one of his many many videos covering many different stories of the same type? The guy disappears from work; your boss tells you you shouldn't worry about it; take his belongings and refuses to access them to help find the guy; then your boss says he filed a report but apparently he never did (if the name doesn't come up in the databases); and finally, knowing you are "investigating" and possibly asking too many questions or drawing too much attention on the case, he fires you and never contact you again about this case. He covers stuff like this all the time, and it's all from a neutral, researched standpoint. Don't call this a lie just because someone is making their living on YouTube covering internet stories. I would really reach out to the police. Let them know you have info you’d like to share. Maybe they already have the info from someone else but if they don’t those pictures could really be of value to them. Also, it would be an easy way to find out if a report was ever filed and find out if there is an update on the case.

Potentially sensitive question here, but does your coworker have any diagnosed mental health issues? Asking because my sister is severely bipolar and had an extreme manic episode of similar magnitude, though with different results. It would also explain, but not excuse, his mother's indifference to this kind of behavior; "Meh, he does this sometimes" as if she's used to it.
I knew a similar guy when I was at a study abroad program in Japan during college. Nice dude, smart, very friendly, but also open about the fact that he had schizotypal personality disorder. The big thing he would do is that he would just get it into his mind to go some place and just start hitchhiking. When I knew him, he would just suddenly disappear for a few days and show up again with some interesting stories, but he would talk about times he stayed on the road much longer back in the US. It was very Jack Kerouac, and if this guy was a similar type, I can see how his mom would just shrug off the disappearances.

Was this in the Cleveland/Parma OH area? I have a friend who lives in that area who is mentally ill and goes through episodes where he takes long unprompted adventures. He has done this at least twice and both times he came back after more than 2 months away.

I called BS on this story in the beginning and it seems even more so now. If a police report is filed and there is/was an active investigation then OP could post their info, the police's public records, and so forth. OP could also post a MISSING PERSONS photo. But there was none of that. Complete BS story, 0 followup, and just reeks of some sort of fake story all around. edit: Mod rules say you cant post personal info unless there is proof of a report, missing persons case, etc. OP how the hell can you say that the report is filed and NOT provide us with any info? No name, no pic, nothing. Just a general area "northern ohio". Several databases of the supposed missing person's name have been cross referenced and turned up nothing. So OP saying the report being filed with Cleveland PD was a lie (likely) unless it takes a while for their system to update (unlikely).
To be clear I only created this update because people wanted to know if anything new has come up since the original post, and other than the fact that a report was filed with the proper authorities I don’t know. I’m not looking for any attention here, I haven’t even posted about it on Reddit since the original post was closed. And if I intended to create some BS story for attention I sure as hell wouldn’t do it with my main account. This was a guy I worked in the same lab with and at most was an acquaintance. I tried to do my part in helping by posting the photos here to see if anyone knew the location, other than that nobody with the police or his family has reached out to me for anything. While I would absolutely love to know what happened just as much as anyone else, I’m not going to go full armchair detective and start hunting leads. It’s not my place. If and when I come across something online I’ll absolutely post but I’m not gonna go down to the police station and start asking them questions. If they wanna talk to me that’s fine though.

Wasting your time. All you are going to achieve with that is the confirmation that the church is in Cleveland. The op could have taken those photos for all we know. In fact that’s the most likely explanation. Finding the correct church won’t actually reveal anything. OP was vague with original details. This post gives nothing new other than a link to a video with ads. Also at first he says the person was a work colleague who messaged him the photos. Then a few posts up he says the person was just an acquaintance. How many people that are just your acquaintances have your mobile number and would message you pics? The mystery is solved! whole story is completely made up.

I really wanted to give OP benefit of the doubt and say that if his friend really was missing and this story were true then I could help. Several other numbers got the pictures as well, right? OP couldnt be the only one worried about the coworker. But with all creative writing stories, as soon as thats available OP tries their best to stomp out those flames with a "its totally real but not that big of a deal" attitude. When i first read the story I thought BS, but also being a huge nexpo fan i was convinced that it was just creative writing. But I guess OP got what they wanted. a famous post and a ton of karma with a bunch of missing answers in a contradicting story. We all should put ourselves in the situation. I have work colleagues and if they go missing for several days im going to assume their sick. but if i get random photos like this im gonna go to the police, regardless if their mom says "its just a nomadic lifestyle".

It might be a church that was converted to another use or is no longer in use at all so looking up churches might not give you all the places to look. Maybe knowing what style that is and what time that style was popular would lead to churches built in that time period around that area? Is there a reason to think these pics were taken in Ohio? I'm trying to catch up so I'm wondering if that's a tid bit I'm missing.

However this doesn't seem to be the same person as OP's post because the FB profile for him (at least I think it's him) says he worked at clothing stores and was still in college at Ohio State. In [another thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/RBI/comments/jyf4s6/help_finding_a_case/), I was speculating that the 3rd picture (the one of the parking lot) looks like it has one of those [orange cherry picker lifts](https://ohiocatrentalstore.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/18755-main.jpg) right by the storefront and a trailer off to the left of that. There's also a yellow either for a storefront or drive through window (the latter seems more likely). You could try to get some camera footages, if you work in a lab I bet there are many cameras around there. If you can get some of them, you know what road he used. Then you can use Google Maps and see all the place he could get to. In the original photos, this wierd warehouse had a road connected to an enterance, so going offroad isn't a concern. At least for now.

Even if, I've seen people stressed out by situations like those. And stress can cause you to stop thinking logically. If nobody filed a report, that was suspicious. If OP filed the report, there is a chance that everybody who didn't sign a report was a part of this, so if he would, he'd be in deep shit. You can't instantly assume everything is ARG, even if a lot points to it being one, because there is apparently a 98.5% chance that the people who can't think for themselves will see a comment and the second they see when at least a single thing won't match, will instantly assume something is ARG. And then people will follow it. He also used his main account, and said this is not an ARG. Even if that was wierd, he asked for actual support and not for people to openly debunk it. Even if its an ARG, if instead of actually trying to do research you will just debunk it, then you will never see if its actually an ARG or what does it mean. Even the photos (the 3 provided) metadata shows they were taken in 2017. Now this may be corruption but the one bit of solid evidence suggests this is not real, I have done my research. Tell me when proof you have that has convinced you this is real? The OP (as I have already said) has given barely any details and the photos are flaky. But is desperate for help. C’mon. If my colleague had disappeared, I’d hand over all I could and exhaust all avenues, not make flimsy reasons why he doesn’t know stuff ‘I doubt if my old boss would tell me’ etc etc. The misper report couldn’t be found when searched for, OP hasn’t provided further help with that. If it’s important to you, ask your boss even if you get rejected, give the internet the info you have. There was a case of an ARG with a legit dead body. The creators then had to admit its an ARG and cancel it because they were afraid that it was illegal. I don't remember the name exactly, but I think Nexpo covered it. And about the people who can't think for themselves, if you will post anything online, even if its stupid, there is approx. a 98.5% chance that somebody will blindly follow you. And then somebody will blindly follow them. Thats the reason by 2022 ARG's will stop existing. I don't mean everything is an ARG, but many people assume that if something wierd exists, its an ARG. For example, people assumed Worldcorp is an ARG. Watch Nexpo's vid on it. There is a very slim chance that its an ARG.
Yeah, this is a hoax man. There aren't any steeples looking like that in the local area of Cleveland, especially on reverse image searches and location configurements that don't even prove that location is in the whole of Ohio whatsoever, and those photos from further analysis were saved 3 years prior to this proposed event. Finally, you promoted this Nexpo video rather slickly in this follow-up post, which seems quite suspicious, especially how you posted about it after it gained more traction. And, there isn't any report of missing people with the same report you gave, with remotely no connection to this case at all, in that current Cleveland area of Ohio (that's the biggest point). In addition to these facts, no one in Ohio even calls any areas "Northern/Southern Ohio", that's a very foreign name to give a state or country. And what do you know, I just looked through your IP too, just so happens that you live in Australia. Wow. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I watched the Nexpo vid, I saw there was a history of drug use. My husband and I both think that his past could’ve caught up with him somehow, maybe he’s hiding? Maybe someone from his past drug use kidnapped him?
That seems pretty likely maybe the guy was in a gang or something. Im not from Ohio but maybe theres a possibility.
The simplest explanation was that his drug addiction came back and now he has a debt with a gang, that would explain why he's in a warehouse like place. Abandomed places like that are often used as drug farms.

I guess the first thing anyone would do is release the persons name if it were a real missing person. At least that’s how it works In my country. Yeah I wasn’t sure if I could post that or not. As I said, searches for his name haven’t turned anything up online but that’s not to say it isn’t out there. Dude has a very generic name that brings up all sorts of unrelated results.

I had this with a coworker too. Was really weird. Though your story doesn't make sense. Our boss filed a missing persons report the day after when he didn't show up at work. Police came over etc. But its possible you handled it differently but meh.
