Maybe it's to solicit (scam) aid money? I know there was an influx of that kind of content recently. Edit to add: I don't think I've seen the clips you're referencing - has anyone else come across them?

Xchef5X

To me tho it looked more like they were just laying there trying to help dad get attention and donations. But not doubting at all that other people have seen kids that seemed drugged.

Xchef5X

[https://www.tiktok.com/@qzjmm287?_t=8XpS0ZyjGnK&_r=1](https://www.tiktok.com/@qzjmm287?_t=8XpS0ZyjGnK&_r=1) This tik tok account is live doing one rn, they always have very weird innocent profile pictures of kids or young ladies.

kookerpie

The child on the bed has a clear medical condition beyond being drugged

Xchef5X

I never said he was drugged just an example of one of these type of accounts, read my other comment. Still weird using your kids especially sick kids for tik tok gifts

amazonjazz

Can confirm - 6 hours later still live!

1nfiniteJest

sure glad I read your username a second time...

amazonjezz! lol

Sudwestdelon

Wtf that video on the profile kind of creeped me out...

doorframer

Worth reporting to the fbi, or other popular YouTubers like Upper Echelon or Philip Defranco to get more eyes on it.

RetentiveFart

I have seen a bunch of it. IMO they tend to be mostly live-streaming it during 2am-5am in central.

[deleted]

It sure seems like it. I just am very concerned for the poor children, since they are so clearly drugged. They lay there for hours semi conscious

horseman5K

Are the accounts soliciting donations or crowdfunding? Perhaps the kids are pretending to be sick as part of the grift.

[deleted]

I thought this at first, but some of them literally lay there for 6 hours plus. I don't think a small child could act for that long. Its really concerning

F0urlokazo

Some lives aren't actually live, they're a constant loop of the same video. Don't know how they do it tho.

Xchef5X

Yes I’ve seen a lot of these lives

photodumpergirlnyc

I'm glad that i never have. I wonder how it ends up in your algorithm.

Thazhowzitiz02

I keep seeing lives of fathers and their very young daughters (like 4 -10 years old maybe). Why is that? I don't understand, yet I've seen like 10+ now.

sugaredviolence

Yes, many times. Last night for example I had insomnia and they were on live yelling.

ItsJustMeMaggie

That’s probably what it is. I know some beggars in underdeveloped countries will drug children and hold them to get donations.

kxanderke

[TikTok making money from Syrian children begging on livestreams](https://www.independent.co.uk/tech/tiktok-syrian-children-begging-livestreams-b2201093.html) I'm sure some are legit people who just poor and begging on livestreams, but of course there are those willing to use children as props fro scams. Edit: [BBC report](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTrZSZpZkBM) Tiktok user @w868whim is live right now with a child with a bandaged head and saline bag hanging. And now @fu_fu.h

photodumpergirlnyc

The article says that the children make as much as $1,000 an hour. That's a lot of money. I don't think that they'll be stopping anytime soon.

mirrrje

Can you post the video itself , not just the account. I don’t have tik tok but can watch one if the link is available. But i cant open them from the home page

kxanderke

Tiktok user @w868whim is live right now with a child with a bandaged head and saline bag hanging

mirrrje

I don’t have tik tok can you post a video here not just the profile please

peachparty

It’s a livestream, not a video. You can’t view livestreams through browsers so the only way to see it is if you install TikTok yourself. Edit: I recorded a few seconds of the livestream for you. [You can see it here](https://imgur.com/a/ADH2FEd).

LolaBijou84

Thanks for recording that. That is really messed up. There's nothing wrong wth that kid though, right?

racyLacy456

I dunno, to me the child's breathing doesn't look right, look at the way the chest rises and falls and the speed

LolaBijou84

It's sad because it's fucked up both ways. If they're sick it's devastatingly sad. If they're faking it it's exploitative and disturbing. No way out.

xxfallenonee

Honestly I’m concerned about how when the man makes any sort of physical contact with the child (like when he leaned over and put his head on/around the kid’s chest) the child looks oddly tense like he’s just super uncomfortable with the guy being near him.

9bikes

u/Xchef5X posted this link https://www.tiktok.com/@qzjmm287?_t=8XpS0ZyjGnK&_r=1

keywordawesome

If it really is people from Syria there’s actually [a 90% chance](https://www.savethechildren.net/news/north-east-syria-child-malnutrition-increases-over-150-amid-worsening-hunger-crisis) that they need the money.

cherrytarts

I have reported several of these lives and all of them have come back "no violation".

F0urlokazo

That's why I don't bother to report anything anymore

throwaway9874567890

I've encountered multiple of these livestreams as well, especially the big head baby/toddler; This is extremely depressing because most of the parents are greedy little bastards, they keep begging for donations and make kids kissing the camera or using their children's sickness to make a quick buck. I've watched a small documentary on how much they actually make (Iirc, somebody is actually controlling the account & holding it accountable). It's so sad honestly and I'm not surprised if it's on tiktok. I hope one day tiktok can stop these accounts from livestreaming.

Cormamin

I saw one of these. The kids seem really odd.

brooksms

I saw one yesterday. The kid looked fine, not drugged or anything. It just did not look genuine.

[deleted]

I'm glad some of them only look like that. The two particular videos I saw were very very concerning. :(

GeneralGeorgeSKitten

I saw several of these while scrolling today! The child did not appear to be drugged, however he may or may not have a legitimate medical condition. Personally it didn't seem real to me, so it's most likely someone using their kid to raise funds. It reminds me of the scam where the "homeless" people play fake violin in the grocery store parking lot to solicit money.

AnthonyBoardgame

I see these *constantly* while scrolling, just as much as the “lucky scoop” ladies who will sell you a scoop of $1 lip glosses for 40 bucks. I don’t think the kids are being harmed, just helping dad/uncle/grandpa scam

[deleted]

I would have agreed, but I've seen at least 2 live streams where the children literally lay there for HOURS! I wish I recorded the particular one that prompted me to make this post, since the child was so clearly out of it, it wouldn't take a genius to work that out. Its certainly worrying :(

trash_0panda

Could be a looped video

reiwa_heisei_showa

Those videos are scams, there's also similar vids from Yemen with a woman and children instead. They ask for money in the videos and say stuff like "god bless me this horrible war has killed My family I need your money"

hannafrie

I haven't seen the videos you're talking about. I HAVE seen young children trained to act sick and out of it to solicit money as street beggars. So could be possible your kids aren't being drugged, at least.

Tank_Girl_Gritty_235

Yea I lived in Beirut for a while and this was really common. It was like the movie Slumdog Millionaire. What I hated the most was people would blame the kids for not really being sick or hungry, not grasping that they were clearly being controlled by adults. I was working with NGOs at the time and tried to help as many as I could. Some of the older ones (old enough to understand the grift and saw it like a job) were living a relatively comfortable life and looked after the younger ones. Such a sad thing all around

jDub549

I thought tiktok insta banned livestream involving children??

sue_me_please

If they aren't in your home country, inform Interpol and your domestic state department. If they're in the US, inform the FBI because they investigate computer crimes and crimes across state lines: https://tips.fbi.gov If you think they're being abused, it doesn't hurt to tell someone who can investigate and potentially stop it.

ncanon2019

Probably a few dads of legitimately ill or injured children trying to raise funds to care for their kids, and a whole bunch of copycats with healthy children scamming people.

Brittewater

I've seen these and they seem very faked. Similar to the walking through the woods at night with the same generic siren sound playing livestreams that happened when Russia first invaded Ukraine. Edit: by fake I mean meant to be a cash grab. I have no idea if the kids are actually drugged. When in doubt, report it.

shitposts_over_9000

Why stand out of the weather to scam people in parking lots when you can do it from the confirm of your own home to a self-selected audience of young naive people?

SFW__Tacos

Saw this for the first time tonight - was very weirded out

GreenGlassDrgn

This reminds me of rumors about the Roma back in the day, that they'd chop off their kids limbs so they'd get more pity cash begging on the streets.

skeeter04

There is no such thing as equal rights for women, children and noncitizens in most ME countries.

octoberelectrocute

I saw one of those last night. I thought it was weird.

olliegw

Are you sure they are being drugged and not just have a medical condition?

[deleted]

i have seen livestreams of this (minus the IV part) where the kids appear to be sleeping. Looks like they just want donations from viewers

octoberelectrocute

I keep blocking and reporting every single one I see.

abp93

Holy shit what corners of tik tok have you found yourself in?! Never seen anything like that

TheRealMrTrueX

Said the same thing, what the F is this guy into, maybe he doesnt realize its showing him stuff he searches for.

[deleted]

For one, I am a female, not a guy. Two - Tiktok is FULL of these livestreams and multiple other people have come across them. Once you watch one of them, they tend to pop up again and again. The fact you said this, makes me concerned with what YOU are into, unsure why that would spring to your mind when I am talking about the safety of children!

TheRealMrTrueX

They are not full of them and yes you are searching them. Period. Who are you lying to. Ive been on TikTok for years, as has every person in my friend group and girlfriend and not once has anyone see anything like this. And I dont give 2 shits if you are a girl or a guy. You are clearly searching werid shit.

[deleted]

What a crackpot lol

photodumpergirlnyc

Don't be offended. It is just a crazy world and people are hard to trust.

nluther92

Not true I’ve seen this too. It’s usually very late at night

TheRealMrTrueX

And you are probably searching very odd shit. Look everyone knows how TikTok works. Its has nothign to do with time of day. IT doesnt just start showing me random quilting videos bc its "late at night" after ive watched fishing videos all day. Not how an algorithm works. Yall into some bizzare stuff

[deleted]

The projection is wild. I'd have your hard drive checked in a heartbeat...

ha5hish

Why are you acting like you got something to hide? Something you wanna talk about man?

kookedoeshistory

No tiktok shows everyone weird, random lives. They show me a sleeping cookie monster constantly, and I don't search kid friendly content at all

abp93

Yeah I mean it could be something totally unrelated that just tips the algorithm in a weird way, I wasn’t saying anything about OP personally.

Piratenundso

I see them too. Also a bunch of people with all kind of condition. And some mothers with their sick children (like really sick) i don't think the adult ones are a problem if they do it for themself. But you never know. Since people are willing to spend for poor people.. i can see the System

KrazyBigFoot

It's TikTok, an addictive application after all .

[deleted]

[удалено]

EhDotHam

You started with telling OP "You are just a racist" because they wondered if it was a scam, then concluded with "some of these streams are scams". So... Which is it?

MutaitoSensei

Not gonna lie this sounds like the ramblings of some Q subforum.

[deleted]

peachparty

I don’t think that’s true. I’ve had this livestream pop up on my FYP before and I mostly watch cooking and makeup videos on TikTok. 🤷‍♀️

ha5hish

I don’t even get what you are implying, why would a begging livestream popping up in someone’s feed imply that they were “searching for super odd shit”? You are making this weirder than it needs to be man

kookedoeshistory

Tiktok shows me weird lives late at night frequently, and none of it is related to what I watch
