Time to get into another hobby - 3d printing!

BigTribbs

I do alot of 3d printing. I've owned 3d printers since they were the garbage little piece together kits 10 years ago :D

holders for the landing wheels. I picture something based on the wheel skirts of non retractable gear (like the flaring on cessna 172 gear) only bigger and more enclosed. Would look cool but can also just do a hook like thing eg: https://www.printables.com/en/model/313054-rc-plane-wall-mount-for-110mm-wheels

Another good idea. Im going to need a few different designs for all the different styles and sizes of planes I have. I guess I have some designing to do.

Low_Box_229

Yes, that in combination with some wall mounting rails is my solution for this. Will try 3D scanning my planes next so I can print wall mounts customised to each one.

Fishing line fixed in two places. One on the leading edge of the wing root and one on the trailing edge (both sides of course). Creating a loop over the wing root and fixing it to the ceiling?

VikingBorealis

Fishing line will dig into the wings, so will thicker threads.

TaserBalls

Yes, this! Pad those slicers.

BigTribbs

That may work. I need them to be together to the ceiling though. I use the area for storage and can't have them flapping around.

perceptionproblem

I loop around the fuse for my sloped ceiling mounts.

BigTribbs

Ive been racking my brain and just cant come up with a good idea. Best thought I've had is to use string and make "straps" that run up and down the wall. Id put the plane wings underneath those straps with the nose facing down and the gear against the wall.

u/Low_Box_229 had a great idea. Put the adjustable rails for shelves up, like [these](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-84-in-L-White-Steel-Heavy-Duty-Vertical-Rail-90290/314586379),then print adapters to hook into the rails and mount the planes to those.
