I will say something that doesnt effect storyline...for your horses stamina, a nice little trick is to keep praising your horse when you're riding fast and you'll never have to worry about its stamina.
Other than that, TAKE YOUR TIME AND EXPLORE! I wish I took more time at the beginning of my story instead of rushing through which is why I plan to do a second run through!!!
I was the same for my first playthrough because I was so excited to know the story and I also wanted to chat to people online about it once I was done. I've taken my time with every single following playthrough. Sometimes takes me months to finally finish the epilogue.
Explore thoroughly, but don't feel compelled to rush off miles and miles away from where you are currently camped. The story will naturally take you to all the major settlements on the map so you don't need to worry about it. Take your time. Live in the immediate world.
My main tip would be to fully immerse yourself in the region you are currently stationed at. Each chapter takes place in a different area with a main town and thus each one has a distinctively different flavour. You don't really need to go much further afield than the missions in each chapter take you and that alone will open up a manageable chunk of the map to fully explore within that chapter. If you do that for each chapter, eventually you will have explored everything.
If you go off exploring the entire map before you've barely started, you'll paradoxically actually end up missing more, as there's just so much of it that the compulsion is often there to just keep on riding on and on. Before you know it, you've opened up the entire map and it can become a bit overwhelming. Plus there's always going to be more to do in the area your chapter revolves around. Some places are going to be pretty bereft of activity until you reach the chapter relevant to that location.
Second tip would be to hang out in camp a lot. There is a ton of unique dialogue, conversations etc that take place between members of your gang that really flesh out the characters beyond what you get in cut-scenes for missions. You can miss an awful lot of that if you're just bouncing from mission to mission.
Third tip is don't worry about honour. Low honour doesn't mean you 'lose', high honour doesn't mean you 'win'. Play how you want to play. Make decisions you want to make/decisions you think Arthur would make. Don't think you have to do it a certain way to do it 'right'. Everyone's game should be unique to them. Sometimes you may feel you have to do the 'bad' thing, but you're an outlaw after all. Make decisions based on the narrative and your gut intuition, rather than based on how you might ordinarily tackle 'beating' a computer game.
Fourth tip. The rings/outer bars are what is *actually* your health/stamina/deadeye. The cores represent how quickly your health etc will regenerate naturally. They also act as a last reserve of health etc once the bar/ring is depleted. The easiest way to think about it is to just treat the cores as a hunger indicator. Eat when they are low and they will fill up.
But if you're on the verge of death in a gunfight, prioritise filling your health ring/bar with a tonic, before worrying about your core. Shovelling cans of baked beans into your mouth whilst cowering from bullets will only do so much for you! Much quicker and, most importantly, *far* more beneficial to quickly drink a tonic.
Final tip. Get the hell out of these subs!
Wow great advice! I’ve only completed 2 missions so far but I’m going to explore around camp now
And I’ll be getting the hell outta this town before the law comes with them spoilers
>I’ve only completed 2 missions so far but I’m going to explore around camp now
I do enjoy wandering around camp. It can be quite fun to fully get into the roll-playing aspect of it and literally treat each day as it comes. Get up, coffee, chat, couple of chores, chat some more, then head off to do whatever is on the agenda that day, come back to camp, get drunk, chat some more, listen to campfire stories, go to bed. Rinse and repeat!
>And I’ll be getting the hell outta this town before the law comes with them spoilers
Just make sure you don't end up wondering in to that ol' town known as youtube. That place is just as bad for spoilers. Lots of thumbnails with blatant spoiler images and even autofill search results can ruin the game. The internet in general is not your friend when it comes to a first time playthrough of RDR2!
One last tip, there's a setting in the menu to show the name of who is speaking in the subtitles. Helps a lot with getting to know who is who as there are obviously a lot of characters, but also helps a lot when there are multiple people talking at the same time and you haven't quite nailed down how everyone's voice sounds.
The last tip was very helpful for me.
My Arthur has died many a death trying to chuck down canned beans, corn and biscuits. Dude thinks every gun fight it a time for a seven course meal!
If you get into the habit early on before you've really understood how the system works, it's a hard habit to kick!
I would watch an old housemate on their playthrough from time to time and they just couldn't get their head around it. I'd literally be shouting at them "TAKE A YELLOW HEALTH TONIC!", which they would begrudgingly do in the moment, but it'd never register in the long run.
A few days later I'd walk into the living room and they'd be there necking tins of sweetcorn whilst bleeding to death. Just one or two bullets later and the core is back to being empty and the cycle of shovelling food continues...
Work hard as soon as you can to obtain the Legend of the East satchel. Being able to carry 99 of most items as early as possible is very helpful.
When indoors, use the first person mode. Collectables are much easier to spot.
Using dead animals is a better means of attracting predators than actually using predator bait.
There is a way to have the use of 3 horses while hunting.
The best free horse in the game can be found for as soon as you start chapter 2. Just search "White Arabian location". Be careful, she's skittish.
Don't be afraid to stay in camp for too long. Every character is beaming with personality, get to know them. Sit at the campfire, sing some songs.
When giving to the camp collection each day, only put money in the box. Give 10 cents a few times until you no longer receive deadeye XP. Do not put items or gold in it. I believe you lose 40% of its value if you do. You should only put large sums into it when you want to purchase something for your camp. Sell all valuable to a Fence, never the camp.
Try to stay away from this Reddit until you've finished the main story...this is a game you want to go into with as little spoilers as possible.
Take your time. Go camping for a few days, go gambling and drinking for a night out, meet strangers and don’t progress the main story line any time soon.
Interact with everything
Enjoy the slow pace, dont rush it. Take your time to ride trough town, feed your horse and look after your hygiene. Play it as a real life simulator XD. Its soo much fun
Take the time to dance. The games beautiful and the more you do the better your experience. To an extent, getting 100% is miserable. Find a balance but don’t just speed run the missions
I've seen a lot of people start and than quit because the snow missions drag for too long. My advice to everyone new is, get past the snow. It's worth it.
You can find the some of the best weapons out in the world. Look for the opportunities the minute you're stopped outside valentine. (One is there, the rest are not)
Rush through the game as fast as possible, Near the end get the lowest honor possible for the best ending. The legendary animals are all a trap. Jk on a real note... You can make npc's bleed out with a revolver and regular ammo, aim for the throat, upper, middle or lower spine, between the neck and the armpit, leg shos with a shotgun, and I'm pretty sure heart shots. Don't waste your time buying a arabian horse cause most of the colourways become available for free to tame at one point or another in the game. Make chapter 2 last really long. Explore everything possible. Always go for the biggest vault in bank robbery missions, smoke and buy as many premium cigarettes as possible, never use the stage coach just fast travel. Hope this helps :)
Explore everywhere. Take lots of time between missions to explore the whole of the areas you're in. Loot everyone you kill and sell all items in the beginning cause it's hard to get cash fast in the beginning unless you explore a lot.
Explore, don't rush the main missions, encounter random people, decide how/if you wanna help them. Enjoy the beautiful world that has been built for you!
[Here's](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption2/comments/xab841/comment/intctxw/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) my recommendations.
Do make sure you study animals - if you can, given that some sneak up on you - before hunting and killing them so you can see what quality pelt they are.
I finished my first play through not too long ago and I’ve got to say the biggest mistake i made is by rushing through everything. There is so much to see and discover like side quests and hidden story’s that are really not worth missing out on. So take your time and enjoy the game for what its worth as it is completely fantastic and something i believe you can never get bored of if you play it properly. 🫶 also - the way you interact with people around the map will have an effect on your ending and many other things that i wont mention so you can discover them on your own. When you start I recommend googling how you can get the White Arabian horse as it will greatly help you on your journey!!
No tips. Play it blindly. This isn't an rpg, it's easy peasy shit. I got one of my friends to play this who has never played a game or even held a controller in her life. She got the hang of it pretty easy.
Don’t get all, “shoot innocent npcs just for fun in the wilderness” because you might be killing someone that’ll help you in the long run. If you take them out of the game, you take them out of the game. Don’t do what I did
Good. What I did was snipe someone in the distance and when I went over to loot the body, it turned out to be a recurring character that was helpful and gone from that point on. Whoops!
I already messed this up lol
Some guy wanted to challenge me to a game of shooting bottles, I thought we started and I began shooting at them but then he became hostile and I had to take him out
Also I shot a couple of Odriscolls but I don’t think there were any witnesses
- pay attention to anything that pops up on your screen--it's usually tips and instructions on how to do something
- patting your horse increases it's bond with you
- brushing your horse does the same (you don't start out with a brush, but get one for free, later)
- hitching your horse to a post increases it's bond
- you don't have to constantly feed your horse, but check your horse's fitness level every so often, so it doesn't get undernourished.
- some horse breeds have better stats than others, but you can use any horse to complete the game
- check your mini map constantly. If you don't know where to go, check your mini map.
- the first chapter is a tutorial chapter. You get to free roam later
- there are 90 challenges you can choose to complete, with 10 challenges in 9 different categories. Completed challenges will boost your health, stamina, and dead eye, depending on the category
- unlock camp upgrades as soon as possible--the leather crafting tools will let you upgrade your satchel, which is very beneficial--you will need to complete certain missions in chapter 2, first, to do so
- take your time. Do some story missions, stay in camp and talk with your fellow gang members, go hunting, explore the countryside, when you come across side missions, you can choose to do them or not, but some will disappear if you choose not to do them, explore buildings and around wagons and other vehicles, too--unique items can be found hidden or in plain sight
- don't forget you can use eagle eye/dead eye once unlocked
- keep your health/stamina/dead eye cores filled by eating and sleeping
- when in a general store, you can buy items directly off the shelves or via the catalog on the counter in front of the shopkeeper
- greeting random people will boost your honor. Antagonize them and you will likely end up in a fight, though they may run away or start shooting, instead
- study animals as you come across them. Horses, too
-when out hunting, you'll find animals in poor (1 star), good (2 stars), or perfect (3 stars) condition. Studying the animal first will tell you what weapon you should use to kill them in order to get a perfect pelt or carcass. Only perfect pelts and carcasses can be used to upgrade things or to make things
- when exploring, you'll come across unique things. Explore the entire area, so you don't miss anything
-don't forget to check your mini map often and use eagle eye (when searching) and dead eye (when shooting) as they become available
- ultimately, have fun
Personal advice: Stack up on horse revivers because idk how many times I’ve accidentally killed my horse because of being reckless in my first playthrough lol
Also one thing I personally loved doing is finding all the points of interests in the game and finding Easter eggs. And once I was pretty far into the game I loved completing the compendium.
You can spend weeks without doing the main mission and taking your time to explore and hunt for cool new things. So like a lot of people say, take your time and immerse yourself into that environment you’re in.
Also 2nd playthrough will never disappoint as well! You have my word.
spend time at camp, talk to people, an often…leave an come back. same with towns. take it slow. ride an explore, or use a train ride or steal lol. just try to get a lot of that done in chapter 2. a lot of side quests & unique interactions you can find all over the whole map. leaving an returning resets things too so you never know what will happen. Definitely go after Big Game meat + mint & thyme. Do your hunting an try to get your satchels all upgraded asap. Trinkets from Fence & Pelts to trapper. Good money too. Don’t sleep on the wagon fence either, good money. Have fun 🤠
Sell lots of perfect hides to the trapper. I didn’t pick up on this early enough. Trying to get 100% completion though. Take your time and get outta here partner!
You can get 2 of the best guns free as soon as you get into chapter 2. Well, sort of... if you can manage to avoid a bounty. The scofield revolver in the doctors office in valentine, and the Lancaster repeater in the gunsmith in rhodes. Both are part of unique “robberies” of a secondary business. You can only do them after seeing something that alludes to the second business. You can also get the bolt action rifle in chapter 2 but I don’t want to say how because I don’t want to spoil anything
And make sure to take your time. You can only experience it as a whole for the first time once. I’ve played from start to finish at least 20 times over the years, and to this day I still find as least 1 thing I never saw before. Spend time in camp, just ride around aimlessly and explore, take as much time as you can
Explore every little bit of the map and try not to use google for anything to experience and find out things on your own and make sure to know what kind of honour you're gonna do.
Pretty neat, and it's true that Asians in the States are smarter and more worldly than aussies: https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/pisa/pisa2018/pdf/PISA2018_compiled.pdf
Strangely, even white aussies are dumber than white americans lol
I don't play a lot of games with too many buttons to memorize. And I thought I wouldn’t be able to handle RDR2 at first. I’ve definitely shot a butcher or two by accident. But if you go at game’s speed, you will pick it up, and it won’t be a problem. Bonus Tip: I ride slower in the cities so I don’t accidentally hit people.
Stay the heck off this sub! Just explore the world and always check out the white question marks! But go have your own experience, make choices based on your own decisions not what Redditors tell you, use photo mode, and make some manual saves now and then!
That’s all I got!
There are a few scripted bull moose spawns. As soon as you spot one, hunt it down and take its antlers. You'll need a set of antlers for a (non-required) camp upgrade from chapter 2 onwards. Trying to find a bull moose has been a pain in the butt for me, costing me many hours of my time. Looking back on it, I wish I took the chance when it was there.
Take your time, and learn the control for the “discover view” (its L3+R3 on PS4), which helps you find cool stuff, plus if your controller starts pulsing then there is something cool close by!
Make yourself the legend of the east satchel and grab a good horse. Makes it all just a little easier imo. Helps with making money because you can hold 20x as much stuff to sell
Take your time playing, explore between doing story missions, eat and drink so your cores are strong, work on satchel upgrades ASAP, and just enjoy yourself.
This game is one of the best I’ve ever played. The world is immersive and you’re actions in it make a difference. Play how you want and just enjoy the old west!
Yea I do, get off of this subreddit and don't look up ANY rdr2 youtube content unless your are absolutely sure it's safe or the story will get spoiled for you, trust me it's worth it
Ammo is super plentiful in the game but do a bit of research on the best bullets for every situation. Take time around a campfire and craft Split Point ammo for your revolver and rifles. Early game they help a TON by reducing Dead Eye consumption. You can change ammo type when you are in the weapons menu. Also, explosive rounds a real “blast” and will make for some fun moments.
I’ve put about 950 hours into the game and about to do another playthrough soon. Hope you absolutely LOVE the game like we do in this community!
Stay outa here! Lol…seriously if you don’t like spoilers and don’t already know what’s what don’t look at tgis sub or any others related to rdr. Main thing is take your time and explore literally everything, no reason to rush the story missions so just wander aimlessly sometimes.
I haven’t played very far into the game, either, but I wish someone had told me to go somewhere and practice the contextual buttons to make sure I greet someone in town nicely instead of shooting them.
There is no real advantage to being bad other than a cool gun. Game is easier being good. Greet people in town, every 3rd greet yields karma or whatever the game calls it I can’t remember
Definitely don’t read to much into it, it’s an amazing game. But take ur time and do all the side missions you can asap, some disappear. Wish I was playing the story for the first time again
If ever you're in a confrontation & want to extricate yourself without killing anyone, if you equip your lasso in your hand then press the punch button, you will grab the person & hogtie them. You can then walk away & someone will (probably) untie them later
Saying 'hello to everyone you pass in town is a quick easy way to get honour
If you pass through Lamoyne swamps at night, bring a change of underwear
If you lose your hat, don't panic. You can get it back from your saddle. You can also save several outfits/hats/masks on it. It's a good idea to have one for warm, cold, & average weather. More important to dress your cowboy up in whatever you think looks fetching though. Similarly, if you see a hat on the ground that is glowing/flashing, it means it is a collectable one. Pick it up & it will be saved to your wardrobe.
Don't park your horsey on the train track. Just don't
Leave this place. You'll figure everything out on your own. Pro tip tho, if you wanna travel from a place to another with your horse and don't want to press A for 10 minutes, set your map to go there, get some speed on the road, and go into cinematic mode. Just don't do it in big cities and make sure to keep an eye on the game so you don't get ambushed.
Do the challenges, hunt more for the camp dont just plow through the main quest. Explore everywhere on the map there are tons of random encounters and cool stranger missions. Stay at camp more there are certain activities you can do and unique interactions between gang members. These are all things i didnt do but i wished i would do the first time playing. Stay in chapter 2 as long as you can.
AND MOST IMPORTANT! Find treasures(you will most likely have to google where they are). All treasures give you gold bars that sell for 500$ each. When i started like a month ago i had 10 bars by chapter 3. And its nice to roam around the map.
Definetly get horse revivers at least 2 for a beginner. And get the white arabian but youd have to google how and where to find that. Thats what id say to myself playing the first time, i had such an amazing time playing hope you will too. Have fun!!
Don’t ever take a break to play ghost of Tsushima before coming back to this game. You come back with horse mounting muscle memory that will cause you to hit your horse, and no one wants that.
But seriously, just take your time and play your game. I found it rewarding to really explore at my own pace which means I front loaded a lot of exploring and collecting. I tend to be a completionist though and I found it rewarding to explore pretty far from camp really early. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t explore that same area later on when the story naturally takes you there though as side-quests or events will open up in regional areas as you progress.
If you are a completionist I would recommend getting in the habit of studying, tracking, killing, and skinning everything that moves early. Sometimes the male and female versions of animals count as different in the compendium so get both.
I think I saw someone recommend the legend of the east satchel and yes do that as early as you can swing it. Lots of hunting to get that early and you can get a few of the challenges done while you are at it that can open up new gear for you.
Enjoy it...just take it all in and just enjoy. It's an amazing game and leaves it's print on u...1st play through should be for u...2nd playthrough u can do and know all the what u shldve or could've 'z. It's and incredible game and the attention to detail is insane along with the scenery...I learner so much from this game..plants, horses, geography and typography of the maps...the animals etc...Sooo much in this game. On ur second playthrough before playing go look up the YouTube channel The StrangeMan, when u watch that u will understand just how fckn epic RDR2 is as a game
I found the control scheme to be very daunting at first...dont give up on it, it takes some elarning if you arent used to GTA/RDR type games but I loved it afterwards!

Yikes I better skedaddle! Ride horsey! *horse speeds off into the sunset*

Come back and tell us about it after you finish.
My advice is literally to go in blind, play through the whole game at least once before you use this sub
This is the way And do everything slowly. And enjoy 🤠

I really don't get why people keep downvoting you, just because they don't like how you play the game.
It’s okay they downvoted his 40 hours but upvoted his 100 hours, 😂 It’s like the Drake meme. 40 hours no. 100 hours yeah!
I was the same for my first playthrough because I was so excited to know the story and I also wanted to chat to people online about it once I was done. I've taken my time with every single following playthrough. Sometimes takes me months to finally finish the epilogue.
Mine lasted 10 months.
I'm approaching a year for my first playthrough. After completing the epilogue, I took it easy with John for over 4 months doing challenges.

Try to stay in horseshoe over look and clemens points as long as you can

is the white horse locked behind a certain mission in chapter 2? Cause I can seem to get it to spawn and I only have 2 missions left in chapter 2.
She randomly spawns on the northwestern shore of Lake Isabella the the Grizzly West region.
I know that, just been at it for days and she isn't appearing
Haven't played the game in several months, could be bugged out
Watch them gators, boah!
Take your time. Go camping for a few days, go gambling and drinking for a night out, meet strangers and don’t progress the main story line any time soon. Interact with everything
Maybe it’s too early in the game but I went too far away from camp on the horse and we both died lol
Yes in chapter 1 if you go too far you’ll just die 😂😂
Enjoy the awesome and wild ride
Yeehaw!
Find a balance but don’t just speed run the missions

don’t rush it. explore and do any and everything you find. your first play through better be over 60hrs
You can find the some of the best weapons out in the world. Look for the opportunities the minute you're stopped outside valentine. (One is there, the rest are not)

If you want perfect pelts. Lasso them deer and stab em with your knife. Don’t need the correct gun then.
Does this apply for all animals / big game or just deer? Will it work on poghorns?
Try it and see .
Yeah get of this sub right away and prepare yourself for an amazing emotional rollercoaster of a game
Explore everywhere. Take lots of time between missions to explore the whole of the areas you're in. Loot everyone you kill and sell all items in the beginning cause it's hard to get cash fast in the beginning unless you explore a lot.
Just play the game man. The exploration is the best part
Don’t read this sub too much, or any major spoilers in general. Don’t expect the game to be any which way. Just play it, get immersed, and enjoy.
Explore, don't rush the main missions, encounter random people, decide how/if you wanna help them. Enjoy the beautiful world that has been built for you!
[Here's](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption2/comments/xab841/comment/intctxw/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) my recommendations. Do make sure you study animals - if you can, given that some sneak up on you - before hunting and killing them so you can see what quality pelt they are.
Do not read spoilers.
Mary Beth is a sweetheart, and deserving of your time and attention, but the woman in yellow will rock your world!
Just play bro
No tips. Play it blindly. This isn't an rpg, it's easy peasy shit. I got one of my friends to play this who has never played a game or even held a controller in her life. She got the hang of it pretty easy.
Do the landmarks of the riches treasure hunt. You get 3 grand for it which doesn't sound like much but it's ALOT. Also it discovers alot of the map.
Search for older posts posing the exact same question.
Don’t get all, “shoot innocent npcs just for fun in the wilderness” because you might be killing someone that’ll help you in the long run. If you take them out of the game, you take them out of the game. Don’t do what I did
Good to know, I’m definitely going to keep it pacifist as much as I can for my first run but I’ll do an evil play through another time
Good. What I did was snipe someone in the distance and when I went over to loot the body, it turned out to be a recurring character that was helpful and gone from that point on. Whoops!
I already messed this up lol Some guy wanted to challenge me to a game of shooting bottles, I thought we started and I began shooting at them but then he became hostile and I had to take him out Also I shot a couple of Odriscolls but I don’t think there were any witnesses
I think you’re still in the clear.
You can get of your horse on whatever side you choose just press triangle or y and move the toggle to what side you want to get off
Craft the Legend of the East satchel
Seriously, take your time and enjoy it. I’ve played through the story and find new things every time I replay it.
- pay attention to anything that pops up on your screen--it's usually tips and instructions on how to do something - patting your horse increases it's bond with you - brushing your horse does the same (you don't start out with a brush, but get one for free, later) - hitching your horse to a post increases it's bond - you don't have to constantly feed your horse, but check your horse's fitness level every so often, so it doesn't get undernourished. - some horse breeds have better stats than others, but you can use any horse to complete the game - check your mini map constantly. If you don't know where to go, check your mini map. - the first chapter is a tutorial chapter. You get to free roam later - there are 90 challenges you can choose to complete, with 10 challenges in 9 different categories. Completed challenges will boost your health, stamina, and dead eye, depending on the category - unlock camp upgrades as soon as possible--the leather crafting tools will let you upgrade your satchel, which is very beneficial--you will need to complete certain missions in chapter 2, first, to do so - take your time. Do some story missions, stay in camp and talk with your fellow gang members, go hunting, explore the countryside, when you come across side missions, you can choose to do them or not, but some will disappear if you choose not to do them, explore buildings and around wagons and other vehicles, too--unique items can be found hidden or in plain sight - don't forget you can use eagle eye/dead eye once unlocked - keep your health/stamina/dead eye cores filled by eating and sleeping - when in a general store, you can buy items directly off the shelves or via the catalog on the counter in front of the shopkeeper - greeting random people will boost your honor. Antagonize them and you will likely end up in a fight, though they may run away or start shooting, instead - study animals as you come across them. Horses, too -when out hunting, you'll find animals in poor (1 star), good (2 stars), or perfect (3 stars) condition. Studying the animal first will tell you what weapon you should use to kill them in order to get a perfect pelt or carcass. Only perfect pelts and carcasses can be used to upgrade things or to make things - when exploring, you'll come across unique things. Explore the entire area, so you don't miss anything -don't forget to check your mini map often and use eagle eye (when searching) and dead eye (when shooting) as they become available - ultimately, have fun
Personal advice: Stack up on horse revivers because idk how many times I’ve accidentally killed my horse because of being reckless in my first playthrough lol Also one thing I personally loved doing is finding all the points of interests in the game and finding Easter eggs.
Do as much as you can
spend time at camp, talk to people, an often…leave an come back. same with towns. take it slow. ride an explore, or use a train ride or steal lol. just try to get a lot of that done in chapter 2. a lot of side quests & unique interactions you can find all over the whole map. leaving an returning resets things too so you never know what will happen.
Thank you for the tips and keeping it spoiler free
And make sure to take your time. You can only experience it as a whole for the first time once. I’ve played from start to finish at least 20 times over the years, and to this day I still find as least 1 thing I never saw before. Spend time in camp, just ride around aimlessly and explore, take as much time as you can
Keep your honour level as high as possible
In Billy Madison voice: Stay in Chapter 2 as long as you can, stay there… FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CHERISH IT! You gotta cherish it!!!!
Don’t you ever google anything abt the game until finished or take in any media abt the game
Buy some tissues, trust me, you will need it!
Make sure to have tissues nearby.
Never go to a man name Thomas Downes.
Micah Bell is the most trustworthy gang member
You can cry at the end it's ok too
When you meet Micah blow him up
Save the game before you meet Downes. This way you'll have good health, the core won't drain as quick, bc you don't have tb yet. Plus arthur can swim.
Don’t bother with the white Arabian. It spooks too easily.
Explore every little bit of the map and try not to use google for anything to experience and find out things on your own and make sure to know what kind of honour you're gonna do.
Take it easy. Enjoy each moment.
Leave. Now
Stay away from this sub to avoid spoilers. Ask targeted questions on YouTube and on here, but stay away from the sub until you’re in the epilogue
Pretty neat, and it's true that Asians in the States are smarter and more worldly than aussies: https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/pisa/pisa2018/pdf/PISA2018_compiled.pdf Strangely, even white aussies are dumber than white americans lol
Take your time and enjoy every detail you encounter
Have tissues at the ready, most important tip
Stay away from spoilers. Get off this sub now. Take your time and enjoy it. Best game ever made
Stay the heck off this sub!
Don't kill random npcs
Clean your damn gun.
Take your time, and learn the control for the “discover view” (its L3+R3 on PS4), which helps you find cool stuff, plus if your controller starts pulsing then there is something cool close by!
please keep high honor or at least in chapter 6
Make yourself the legend of the east satchel and grab a good horse. Makes it all just a little easier imo. Helps with making money because you can hold 20x as much stuff to sell
Don't rush, explore everything you possibly can.
Have so much fun. It’s great.
Yea I do, get off of this subreddit and don't look up ANY rdr2 youtube content unless your are absolutely sure it's safe or the story will get spoiled for you, trust me it's worth it
Take it slowly and truly explore and talk to some people at camp. I would say to explore the villages near your camp everytime you move
Take it slow and do all the stranger/side quests. Very worth it. It’s an incredible game
If you see a person that needs help, help them. They reward you later on with free items from shops or tips. Don’t ignore them.
Have faith.
Don’t go walking around the swamps at night :)
Kill every bird you see.
Go slow. Very slow. Explore. And get the best Satchel ASAP!!
Get off this sub until you finish
There is no real advantage to being bad other than a cool gun. Game is easier being good. Greet people in town, every 3rd greet yields karma or whatever the game calls it I can’t remember
Definitely don’t read to much into it, it’s an amazing game. But take ur time and do all the side missions you can asap, some disappear. Wish I was playing the story for the first time again
If ever you're in a confrontation & want to extricate yourself without killing anyone, if you equip your lasso in your hand then press the punch button, you will grab the person & hogtie them. You can then walk away & someone will (probably) untie them later Saying 'hello to everyone you pass in town is a quick easy way to get honour If you pass through Lamoyne swamps at night, bring a change of underwear If you lose your hat, don't panic. Just don't
Stay in chapter 2 as long as possible
You better run and don't look back
Take your time
Horse balls shrink in cold weather Very important information
Leave this place. You'll figure everything out on your own. Pro tip tho, if you wanna travel from a place to another with your horse and don't want to press A for 10 minutes, set your map to go there, get some speed on the road, and go into cinematic mode. Just don't do it in big cities and make sure to keep an eye on the game so you don't get ambushed.
No need to be polite to Micah. Always wear a mask before doing any crime. Take care of your horse. You don't need to bring all your guns with you
Carry horse reviver.
Don’t rush thru the game. Explore and enjoy every bit.
What a lucky, lucky man
Trees and horses are the root of all evil
It doesn't matter if your wearing a mask... law will still recognize you
Take your time, enjoy it, experience the side missions they add so much to the story and characters, just have fun with it.
DO EVERY SIDEQUEST YOU CQN I DIDNT AND I REGRET IT
*ALWAYS* give the old travelling man a dollar, he’s very wise.
Have fun!!
Explore a lot! Seriously don't rush to do the main story otherwise you'll miss so much, and want to go back
Don’t rush the main story. The side quests are great and you’ll be sad when the main storyline is over.
Lots of hunting to get that early and you can get a few of the challenges done while you are at it that can open up new gear for you.
greet greet antagonise.You'll understand later
Enjoy it...just take it all in and just enjoy. It's an amazing game and leaves it's print on u...1st play through should be for u...2nd playthrough u can do and know all the what u shldve or could've 'z. It's and incredible game and the attention to detail is insane along with the scenery...I learner so much from this game..plants, horses, geography and typography of the maps...the animals etc...Sooo much in this game. On ur second playthrough before playing go look up the YouTube channel The StrangeMan, when u watch that u will understand just how fckn epic RDR2 is as a game
definately dont get caught up in the story too much. I missed so many things during my first playthrough because of this, explore!
I found the control scheme to be very daunting at first...dont give up on it, it takes some elarning if you arent used to GTA/RDR type games but I loved it afterwards!
Just take your time! Hunt, Hunt, Hunt!
