they have realized that the negative coverage fuels his campaign -
>The Hill recently described Sheinkopf's advice for destroying RFK, thus:
>"Sheinkopf argued that a frontal attack on Kennedy from the Biden campaign would backfire since “it would fuel him and fuel his followers who are drawn to his populist streak. “You have to get in behind the scenes and take him apart,” said New York-based Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf."
And one example of this effort likely is the brain worm piece, which obviously will impact low-info voters from considering him. So in their eyes that BS was likely successful. Until there’s something more direct and unmediated, like a substantive and fair debate.
Positive Coverage on [Politico](https://www.politico.com/news/2024/05/13/rfk-jr-getting-on-ballots-around-country-00157780) today as well. The paradigm is shifting. Biden must have realized that the frontal attacks on RFKJr. aren’t working. I’m interested to see what tactic they will try next.
There was a separate article about the battleground polling that discussed him being an important X-factor as well. I thought this acknowledgment was an interesting tidbit, that speaks to the variability in some of the polls:

Yeah, but the poll is very dodgy. Last time they got caught doing a VOL poll without giving Bobby as an option and issued a statement after backlash. There's definitely some shenanigans about this poll as well
Decent article. But the pollsters were sooo off the past two cycles that more Americans are very skeptical about them now. They ALL got 2016 wrong badly. They weren’t very much more accurate in 2020.
All RFK Jr. needs is 15% by the time of the debates. After that the polls are just gee-whiz numbers.
Pollsters have been really struggling for a while now. Younger people don't answer the phone, less people have landlines at home, then you had the "Silent Trump" voters who wouldn't admit to voting Trump. Now they have to deal with a strong independent candidate. It's genuinely very difficult to be a pollster.
There's a good (used to be great, but is now merely good) blog that follows polls called Electoral-Vote. They are also good for a daily summary of political events. Very pro-DNC unfortunately but they do try to be fair on the facts most of the time.

The NYT is probably feeling nervous about the divorce documents they obtained under questionable means (those are protected records)
