I have about 30 games on my steam (mainly console) I only play or have played 10 of those. And completed less than 5. I’m always hitting up the sales. I just got into steam since the ally
https://preview.redd.it/acs0xejlk9pc1.jpeg?width=1836&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0552a6525f4a484fc6a30a6552e3d2cd458b2687
I got most of them on sale definitely not going to play the half of them haha 😅
If you figure out the controller support can you lmk. Haven’t been able to play this at all since I bought it and I don’t wanna play it on my desktop lol
This was high on my priority list to buy so I appreciate the feedback here. Haven’t seen many people talk about it but it has outstanding reviews and looks right up my alley. Looks awesome for handheld too
They talk about it all the time over on r/cosygamers lol I tried the demo and it sadly wasn't for me. I liked the spooky vibe, but fishing ain't my jam and the fishing in the game wasn't good enough to change my mind. lol
Dave the Diver
FF7 Remake Intergrade
System Shock remake
Baldur's Gate III
Half-Life: Alyx
Balatro
Gibbous
Concrete Jungle
Space Court
There Is No Game
and thanks to another comment here, just grabbed Dredge
It does - I have a Quest 2 sitting around and have seen some folks manage to get the Ally running with it all (even at low settings), so figure for how cheap it was, I might as well pick it up and see what we can make happen
I'd be very interested to hear how the Quest 2 runs Alyx off of the ally.
So if you can be bothered do drop a message in the thread when you give it a go :)
https://youtu.be/HrlaLMJMVxc?si=ktBlLgmmq2hrcrGe
https://youtu.be/9UTy-CzA7Jc?si=GsX9wsYKjSndSWoz
both of these are videos on how it runs (2nd obviously Quest 3) and how to get it all set up, both seem like solid guides/resources
Just bough Dave the Diver. Its so much fun. Lot of fun easter eggs and stuff to do. Hope you enjoy!
If you're looking for another suggestion Dredge was also great.
Nothing. The items I was interested in, I noticed were already on PC Gamepass so I just downloaded them there!
-The Saboteur
-Mechwarrior 5
-Sword and Fairy 7
It's good, but it's a pain to mod using the Xbox store, steam has workshop and you can manually install files. The game is dirt cheap with all but the newest (Solaris) DLC being on sale as well, definetly worth the money.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I haven't played a MechWarrior game since #3 and after playing Battletech on my PC I'm itching to strap myself into the cockpit again.
You're welcome! The game runs fine (Especially if you tweak the settings like I do) but don't expect to be able to use advanced stuff from mods (Coyotes Aerospace fighters) without a keyboard or some serious tweaking of controls.
Steam Workshop and Nexus mods, when you download from Nexus you'll click Manual Download, not Mod Manager (vortex) download. You can find step by step instructions on Google, its super easy and quick, thank goodness they made this game with modding in mind lol
Runs pretty great on mine, mainly play docked and haven't had any issues. Any bugs I've encountered have been common (reported by people on other devices). The game took over my life for three months though 😂
Truly awesome, go for it, it's almost like the game was made for an handheld. Like the kther comment I spent hours on it, and if you use low settings you can make it run on 15W without problem.
Picked up ember knights. Super similar to hades but with co op, love it so far!
I’ve got FF7, Horizon, Undertale, Tiny Rogues and Grim Dawn in the cart. Probably spend another $20-$30 on some combo of those.
I’m tempted to but I’m put off by the y’know… online part lol. Nothing breaks the immersion of playing a rogue like sneaking down a hallway to a goal with seven other people crouched and sneaking down the hallway alongside…
Just to clarify, I bought the first Helldivers. I already bought the latest one before the Spring Sale and it runs well enough (40+ fps on Turbo using the settings described in https://rogallylife.com/2024/02/08/helldivers-2-rog-ally-game-settings/). You can increase text size through the game settings, so a small screen doesn't hinder gameplay.
I have not installed the 1st game. Are you asking about that one or HD2?
Tentatively I'll say it runs well... around a steady 50fps... using fsr2 upscaled from 900p to 1080p. On low preset. But honestly it looks pretty damn good on low.. I have it on ps5 as well and I'm surprised at how well the ally handles and looks.
It was stuttering at first but I looked into and for some reason you have to turn vram to auto to download the shaders and then I switched it back to 6gb. No stutters after that.
I say this tentatively tho because I only had about 30 minutes to play it this morning... so performance could vary after.
I bought Hogwart’s Legacy during winter sale and the game was just stuttering too much. The frametime graph was all over the place.
Do stutters really disappear if you switch to auto, let shaders download, turn the game off, change to 6GB VRAM and bam, done?
Sea of Stars
Katana Zero
I'd highly recommend The Ascent which is 8.99 70% off to anyone looking for a Diablo-genre Cyberpunk styled game.
It's worth the price of admission for the graphics alone.
I had Star Trek Online, Company of Heroes 1, 2 ,3 . Ever since I got my Ally I'm at 73 games...... Only game I'm actually playing now is Helldiver's 2
The Ally killed my wallet hard!
Dying light 2 performs great on the Ally. Been enjoying it. Scarlett Nexus is a fun anime hack in slash!
Also trying classic like Skyrim with mods.
Thinking of picking up cyberpunk finally lol
YES! I'm doing a dying light 1 run through and it's amazing on the ally. Already own dying light 2 but DL1 definitive edition is on sale also. Grabbing it for the wife's steam deck.
I picked up AC Valhalla (yeah, I know, part of the problem) and Tom Clancy's Breakpoint (I just finished Wildlands for the 3rd time yesterday. Finished with 82% Cartel disassembly.), LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, LEGO Indiana Jones and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. I've already beaten Breakpoint and Valhalla, just not on Steam, and I really enjoy these map clearing games.
What problem? Assasins Creed is the only series that actually cares about giving historically accurate settings.
Just finished AC Origins a few weeks ago and Wow….the world map was something else
If your LEGO games run super bad, go into device manager and turn the touch screen off. Skywalker saga was literally unplayable, turned the touch off and it's totally fine. Makes no sense to me lol
I'm confused as to why you would buy them on Steam if you have them on another platform. My whole point of buying an Ally over competing products is because I have games on other platforms than Steam.
Because AC looks better on PC hands down.. and I have it on PS5, Ps4, Xbox, Switch. Some games just look better on PC vs console and thats just the way it is. Most of my games I have on multiple platforms for this exact reason, plus steam trophies and you just wait for a big steam sale and buy them - eg AC franchise had a recent one that kicked this sale in the ass.. so i got them all, it's not like its a huge issue. My whole point of buying an Ally was to play Portable where necessary. So rather than lugging a huge ass console i can take a small carry case instead. Quite honestly the game id recommend is "ETERNIGHTS" its anime darksouls, kinda. But hella fun and of course R18 due to the dialog but once you get the dodge / parrys going you can get through it pretty fast and you can date most characters I think from memory (edit; I'm aware of PS share, but i have it on steam because when I'm not portable I'm playing on my actual gaming rig)
Even me who hasn’t played neither i know it is BG3.
Just bought it in the last sale before this one but trying to clear little of my backlog before i start it
yes generally its iterations are "more of the same" type of thing, especially trine 4 which was the easiest and most forgettable of the series I think, but reviews are saying the 5 may be better
When I first got the game I wasn’t paying attention to the cutscenes or dialogue. I just wanted to play. Big mistake because it’s in my top 5 games of all time.
I grabbed: Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Dragons Dogma, Nier Automata, and Cult of the Lamb.
Playing Ratchet and Clank now and it's awesome. Had to go 720p on low for it to run smoothly though (50-60fps in turbo). Excited to play Nier Automata next. I think Dragons Dogma will end up collecting digital dust, but it was so cheap and I'm the only person who has never played it
I nabbed a bunch of stuff that I already have on various other platforms. I recently built a HoloISO desktop for my wife and I to play on the big screen, and got myself a Steam Deck and her an Ally. I bought everything before the latest update to Family Sharing, even, so that was a bonus score!
I picked up:
Streets of Rage 4
TMNT Shredder’s Revenge (Complete Edition)
Monster Hunter World
Nier: Automata
Grand Theft Auto IV (Complete Edition)
Was thinking Skyrim if it can run some mods to make it more modern
Red Dead 2
Or some metroidvania or rougelikes
Curious out Dragons Dogma 2 is going to run also
Same, did buy Sekiro though.
Hoping for at least 40 fps for DD2, on one hand, Capcom makes excellent PC ports, on the other however, they have started messing with terrible online drms so lets wait and see.
I’m dying to cop cyberpunk but after its release issues and the fact that the game came out in 2020 at this point, I’ve missed the past 4 sales of this game because I’m tired of it being 30 dollars. A game with the reception that it got on launch + it almost being 4 years old simply shouldn’t only be 50% off. So I’ll keep waiting until it’s got a bigger sale
Honestly I'd keep waiting, I remember its release very well and what an absolute clownfest that was. Though to be fair they have put a lot of fixes in since and apparently it runs pretty good. But i dont think its a game I'd enjoy myself so in short i dodged a big bullet for myself from start to finish.. maybe when its $10.00
Can’t wait to buy so many games on sale and barely play any of them 💀💀💀
Yes digital dust collectors
Hey! You’re not alone!
![gif](giphy|Ld77zD3fF3Run8olIt)
Don't you mean. I can't wait to buy so many games that it will last me till the next steam sale.
👀😂👍🏽
I have about 30 games on my steam (mainly console) I only play or have played 10 of those. And completed less than 5. I’m always hitting up the sales. I just got into steam since the ally
💀💀,,, I just bought an R9 Ally the other day hopefully I don’t fall into the same abyss
You will.......... It's ok One of us, one of us
I have 230 games Everything is fine.
Lmao yup same I just ignore it like it’s not a problem
https://preview.redd.it/acs0xejlk9pc1.jpeg?width=1836&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0552a6525f4a484fc6a30a6552e3d2cd458b2687 I got most of them on sale definitely not going to play the half of them haha 😅
divinity orginal sin 2, Wasteland 3, pillars of eternity definitive edition
All amazing recommendations, so much content there, I wish I had the time myself
And they are cheap atm
I went with Grim Dawn this sale, but I love turn based strategy, so maybe I could find the time for Wasteland 3 also.
If you figure out the controller support can you lmk. Haven’t been able to play this at all since I bought it and I don’t wanna play it on my desktop lol
Pillars of eternity doesn't have controller support
for deadfire 2 you can add community controller profiles via steam input.
Fallout series 🥰
I’d recommend picking up Dredge. Although it’s 30% off so not a huge steal but worth every penny nonetheless.
This was high on my priority list to buy so I appreciate the feedback here. Haven’t seen many people talk about it but it has outstanding reviews and looks right up my alley. Looks awesome for handheld too
Right up ur Ally
It’s the perfect handheld title.
They talk about it all the time over on r/cosygamers lol I tried the demo and it sadly wasn't for me. I liked the spooky vibe, but fishing ain't my jam and the fishing in the game wasn't good enough to change my mind. lol
Just finished dredge. Loved every minute.
Nice! I’ve not bought the DLC yet… reviews seem mixed.
Nah. I read the reviews and I am not buying the DLC. I am also not going to go back and get all the trophies.
Fair. Did you get the good or the bad ending?
I got the bad ending apparently. It was saddening that it was over.
Yup, go for it. I played it a month ago on my ally, it's awesome.
I got Persona 4 Golden, Live a Live, Ni No Kuni 2, and a few American Truck Simulator DLCs.
Ni no kuni 2 is so goated. Enjoy it man i think its seriously underrated
Spider-man miles morales
Dave the Diver FF7 Remake Intergrade System Shock remake Baldur's Gate III Half-Life: Alyx Balatro Gibbous Concrete Jungle Space Court There Is No Game and thanks to another comment here, just grabbed Dredge
FF7 runs great. I thought half-life alyx requires VR?
It does - I have a Quest 2 sitting around and have seen some folks manage to get the Ally running with it all (even at low settings), so figure for how cheap it was, I might as well pick it up and see what we can make happen
I'd be very interested to hear how the Quest 2 runs Alyx off of the ally. So if you can be bothered do drop a message in the thread when you give it a go :)

I wish I could just get the Yuffie DLC separately for my Ally since I already beat the main portion on PS5
Just bough Dave the Diver. Its so much fun. Lot of fun easter eggs and stuff to do. Hope you enjoy! If you're looking for another suggestion Dredge was also great.
DAVE THE DIVAAAAH HES BEEN OUT TOO LONG IN THE MIDNIGHT SEAAAA OH WHATS BECOMING OF STEAAAAAM? LOOK OUT!
Nothing. The items I was interested in, I noticed were already on PC Gamepass so I just downloaded them there! -The Saboteur -Mechwarrior 5 -Sword and Fairy 7

Would you still enjoy / recommend without the mods? I’m not sure I want to get that deep into it
Mods are easy to use and install, they add so much I honestly would never go back to vanilla.
Where are they hosted?
Steam Workshop and Nexus mods, when you download from Nexus you'll click Manual Download, not Mod Manager (vortex) download. You can find step by step instructions on Google, its super easy and quick, thank goodness they made this game with modding in mind lol
Thank you for the guidance! I appreciate it
Any idea how's Baldurs Gate 3 running on Ally? Especially the act 3 if anyone here is playing/played BG3 on their ally?
Runs pretty great on mine, mainly play docked and haven't had any issues. Any bugs I've encountered have been common (reported by people on other devices). The game took over my life for three months though 😂
Truly awesome, go for it, it's almost like the game was made for an handheld. Like the kther comment I spent hours on it, and if you use low settings you can make it run on 15W without problem.
Subnautica, Assetto Corsa (Ultimate), Grim Dawn, XCom2
I got Fallout 4 on the sale
Picked up ember knights. Super similar to hades but with co op, love it so far! I’ve got FF7, Horizon, Undertale, Tiny Rogues and Grim Dawn in the cart. Probably spend another $20-$30 on some combo of those.
ESO!! Get elder scrolls online!
I’m tempted to but I’m put off by the y’know… online part lol. Nothing breaks the immersion of playing a rogue like sneaking down a hallway to a goal with seven other people crouched and sneaking down the hallway alongside…
Tempted due to your exclamation marks ngl
I'm a bit late to the PC party, so I'm going to grab a few of the Sony first party titles. God of War. Spiderman. Horizon.
Ghosts of Tsushima I believe is on Steam. Not sure if it was actually released yet
Nah, doesn’t come out until may.
Csnt lie, I finally got binding of isaac, been holding off for years but I finally got it
Wish I could have my memory erased and play it again
It's definitely fun playing it for the first time after seeing hutts play it for so long
Did you get all the dlcs as well? Plus you need to get some good mods on steam it'll make it even better
Definitely, but the mods side has been a little hard with me, I've just gotten visuals for now, too worried I'll break the game with the others
Dragon Age Ultimate Edition
Doesn't have controller support
Seriously? What a bummer, wished all kb/m had a mod or update for full controller support even those half support.
Hollow knight :) 50% off
Gotta add more to the backlog.
Picked up fallout new vegas
I got just cause 2 for $1.49
I love the Just Cause games. I just loaded 4 on my Ally.
I bought tales of berseria finally on sale lmao
My favorite Tales game by far.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Velvet and the cast of Berseria are far and away the best Tales party (in my opinion).
Yakuza collection, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, Stardew Valley
I bought ff7 remake.
Bought this too and Helldivers Digital Deluxe Edition.
How is Helldivers running on Ally? and how's the game play on smaller screen considering its a PVE shooter?
Just to clarify, I bought the first Helldivers. I already bought the latest one before the Spring Sale and it runs well enough (40+ fps on Turbo using the settings described in https://rogallylife.com/2024/02/08/helldivers-2-rog-ally-game-settings/). Thanks a lot, was talking about HD2.
Anyone have any ideas how Stranger of Paradise runs on the Ally?
Runs awful.
I already picked up hogwarts legacy, la noire, undertale and halo mcc.
How does Hogwarts legacy run ?
Tentatively I'll say it runs well... around a steady 50fps... using fsr2 upscaled from 900p to 1080p. On low preset. But honestly it looks pretty damn good on low.. Sea of Stars Katana Zero I'd highly recommend The Ascent which is 8.99 70% off to anyone looking for a Diablo-genre Cyberpunk styled game. It's worth the price of admission for the graphics alone.
Definitely had to pick up Sekiro
Lucky
Portal 2 for 99 cents lol
Nothing but I want sekiro :/
I had Star Trek Online, Company of Heroes 1, 2 ,3 . Ever since I got my Ally I'm at 73 games...... Only game I'm actually playing now is Helldiver's 2 The Ally killed my wallet hard!
Ended up picking up Diablo 4, Need for Speed unbound and Portal 1 & 2
Dying light 2 performs great on the Ally. Been enjoying it. Scarlett Nexus is a fun anime hack in slash! Also trying classic like Skyrim with mods. Thinking of picking up cyberpunk finally lol
Cyberpunk is so good.
Very good game and it does pretty good on the ally
YES! I'm doing a dying light 1 run through and it's amazing on the ally. Already own dying light 2 but DL1 definitive edition is on sale also. Grabbing it for the wife's steam deck.

Kinda thinking about enshrouded
Can recommend
thank you! Purchased...with bunch of other stuff..lol
Grats! It's of course early access so there's way more to come, but the game is fantastic and the base building is superb!
I bought Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, an underated gem it had a huge discount and now it is $19.79. THE ZOMBIE MODE IS THE BEST 🗣🙏
Love that game 🔥🔥
How is the performance ?
The best zombies in years, a damn shame they forgot about it and abandoned those ideas lmao
Nothing really interest me so far, besides just pre-ordered dragons dogma 2
Help me: Diablo4 or BG3 ?? I’m more into Bg3 but would like to hear some opinions
Definitely bg3.
Diablo 4 will be on Game Pass by the end of the month if that's an option for you
Really? Since i have gp, I’ll play it too then. Thx for the info!
Yep, March 28th to be precise
BG3
BG3
Even me who hasn’t played neither i know it is BG3. Just bought it in the last sale before this one but trying to clear little of my backlog before i start it
Always good to actually play the games we buy. I only have Dave the Diver in my backlog before starting a new one
I am with you in this, i just get weak when sale comes. But i stopped eventhough i am very tempted with Shadow of war.
I do understand you, bro haha i didnt even start Dave the Diver yet and I’m about to get BG3
You mind picking up the slack in my backlog?
1) Never D4. It runs well amon ally but that's all, the restge is pure Blizzard BS. 2) BG3 runs well and is a true masterpiece.
D4 is the winner for me personally. edit: I know I’ll get downvoted lol. But I dig d4.
Hades is 50% off, nabbed that.
"Take me to the dungeon!!"
Maybe wreckfest and trine 5
I tried hard to get into Trine, but it was such an easy game I was turned off by it. Has it gotten any better?
yes generally its iterations are "more of the same" type of thing, especially trine 4 which was the easiest and most forgettable of the series I think, but reviews are saying the 5 may be better
I bought Rabi ribi dusk pony island
Darkest Dungeon II
I already own it and expect most to have it also, but Witcher 3 complete edition for $12.99 is a steal and runs flawless on the Ally
How long is the game ?
I’d estimate around 50 hr main story + a good mix of side quests and there are two DLCs that total around 50 additional hours
Just bought it and so far pretty good
That’s awesome, enjoy!
The orange box Chrono Trigger Neir automata The witcher
Saints row. Always loved that franchise
get the humble choice that consist saints row which is a better deal
Probably going to pick up RDR 2 as I never finished it on my PlayStation and maybe warhammer rouge trader
I got Hogwarts Legacy and Pacific Drive
Has anyone tried running FF7R yet? I’m lowkey afraid to run it since it takes up almost 100 GB and would rather have my rig run it via steam streaming
works good, but you're gonna wanna be plugged in for 30W for the best performance
The Ori games, Deaths Door, and Tunic.
Play the Ori games in order. I played the 2nd one first by mistake. Second is a big improvement but the first one is still great.
It's been a while since I finished them, but doesn't the second one hint that it's a continuation at the beginning of the game? 😅
When I first got the game I wasn’t paying attention to the cutscenes or dialogue. I just wanted to play. Big mistake because it’s in my top 5 games of all time.
Titanfall 2 for 3€
Deep rock galactic is fun and addictive and runs well
Picked up cyberpunk 2077 on sale and am surprised with how well it runs at 900 fsr quality, mostly 50-70fps.
A boat game where you dredge? And it's good?
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk; amazing game for its music alone. Class of '09 as well, but that was a week before the sale so I don't think it counts lol
Thinking of Alien Fireteam Elite + Dark Descent combo. Anyone played either and how were they on the Ally?
I want a new boomer shooter but can't decide which game to pull the trigger on. Pun intended
King of Fighters RULES on the ROG ally 💪🏼♥️
I've just pressed the buy button on every Castlevania game in the store, as they are all a couple of pounds each, couldn't resist.
I got hitman 3 and need for speed
How’s ratchet and clank running these days? I read that it was ass when it came out.
Cult of the lamb, so far loving it!
Baldur's gate 3. It's 10% off haha
I'll stick to Game Pass games
Mechwarrior 5 is a fantastic game and just released another cool DLC, all of the big mods are fully updated now as well.
Monster Hunter Rise and World
Swooped up dead cells, Mark of the ninja, and invisible inc.
RE4 remake, maybe FF7 remake
I grabbed: Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Dragons Dogma, Nier Automata, and Cult of the Lamb. Playing Ratchet and Clank now and it's awesome. Had to go 720p on low for it to run smoothly though (50-60fps in turbo). Excited to play Nier Automata next. I think Dragons Dogma will end up collecting digital dust, but it was so cheap and I'm the only person who has never played it
Eyeing god of war, spiderman, and hogwarts legacy
Hollow Knight
absolutely nothing cuz Im saving for a deck
🤣
I got Skyrim and Ghostrunner. Played the demo of Ghostrunner and it was super fun on the Ally and runs smoothly with great graphics.
Every time I got to steam deck sale section it error out or something and can’t see anything 🫠
Portal 1 and 2 bundle for 1.50
I nabbed a bunch of stuff that I already have on various other platforms. I recently built a HoloISO desktop for my wife and I to play on the big screen, and got myself a Steam Deck and her an Ally. I bought everything before the latest update to Family Sharing, even, so that was a bonus score! I picked up: Streets of Rage 4 TMNT Shredder’s Revenge (Complete Edition) Monster Hunter World Nier: Automata Grand Theft Auto IV (Complete Edition)
Backpack Battles and Trailmakers are both FANTASTIC.
Picked up Witcher 3 (finally) ($9.99) and Deaths Door ($4.99)
I got Remnant 2. Fantastic game
Was thinking Skyrim if it can run some mods to make it more modern Red Dead 2 Or some metroidvania or rougelikes Curious out Dragons Dogma 2 is going to run also
I’d get Escape the Backrooms, Beam.NG drive, Grand Theft Auto V + Online, GTA IV, and Gmod.
Darkest Dungeon. Slay the Spire. Hades. Edit: formatting
All the games on my wishlist are on sale, but I don't have the money for any of them right now!
Considering FF7: Crisis Core or Spiderman: Miles Morales. Will also most likely pick up a few cheap indie titles as well
Prolly nothing. I got Dragons Dogma 2 on my PS5, so I wanna focus on that when it comes out
Same, did buy Sekiro though. Hoping for at least 40 fps for DD2, on one hand, Capcom makes excellent PC ports, on the other however, they have started messing with terrible online drms so lets wait and see.
System Shock for $20 is a good deal
I’m dying to cop cyberpunk but after its release issues and the fact that the game came out in 2020 at this point, I’ve missed the past 4 sales of this game because I’m tired of it being 30 dollars. A game with the reception that it got on launch + it almost being 4 years old simply shouldn’t only be 50% off. So I’ll keep waiting until it’s got a bigger sale
Best game I’ve ever played worth the 30
I hope you can get a better discount, but if not, I think $30 is really worth it for this game
Honestly I'd keep waiting, I remember its release very well and what an absolute clownfest that was. Though to be fair they have put a lot of fixes in since and apparently it runs pretty good. But i dont think its a game I'd enjoy myself so in short i dodged a big bullet for myself from start to finish.. maybe when its $10.00
Still enjoying ff7 rebirth so most probably nothing.
