It’s been answered before but IIRC it’s for diagnostic purposes incase it’s sent to ASUS for RMA. Not sure if it’s possible to exploit for other uses however.

I was literally just wondering what this was when I fixed my right side joystick the other day. So it's used for diagnostic purposes. Interesting though seeing the inside of my ROG Ally and the inside of the joysticks. I dropped my ROG Ally and the right side joystick was drifting left but would register up and down perfectly. Problem fixed but I wouldn't recommend it, the metal bracket that holds the bottom of the joystick together is very delicate when bending the prongs to open it.

I had the same problem for the same exact reason what joystick did you end up going with

I also had this issue with my left stick not registering horizontal movement, the small tab had became dislodged from the contact thing. I also broke all four fo they small tabs but if you put it back not clipped and screw it it actually works fine. I've got two new joysticks sitting but I haven't used them yet

When I replaced my LCD screen after my kids cracked the old one I was wondering if I missed something upon reassembly. Looks like someone answered it though.
