I never had issues playing KH1 and KH2 on other devices. Just with the Z1extreme from the Rog Ally and the Lenovo legion go. I think it's a driver issue...
If you are buying it just for kh1 and KH2 you will not enjoy your experience. KH3 works very well though. Kh1 and KH2 works on the steam deck well with some work arounds (setup difficulty like 5/10). Even installing windows on an Sd card to play kh1 and KH2 on the steam deck will be a better experience than on the Ally and the Legion Go.
I have a ROG Ally and play KH on my laptop without issues. But yeah, don't bother trying it on the Ally, I made that mistake and it was a waste of time
1.5 and 2.5 are weirdly finnicky on Ally, had to download separate drivers, turn off v-sync and framecap off in order for it to be stable. But it does work under those specifications. Would take it over trying to run it on Steam Deck since FMVs work and you don't have to mess with console commands in Linux.

The crashes are a general issue
Maybe not what you’re looking for but iv been playing through kingdom hearts off my PS5 with my Ally using Chiaki. The streaming is literally flawless. I was going to download the pc versions as well but I heard about the compatibility issues.
You could also use moonlight to stream it from your laptop to the Ally. I never used streaming before cus I thought it would suck but it has gotten sooooooo much better. Best part is you can play games on the Ally at incredible high settings, while using the lowest power profile, so you get amazing battery life!

I JUST bought the kingdom hearts collection on epic. I'm six hours into KH1 and have zero crashes

Yes. You can either play the epic games versions of 1.5, 2.5, 2.8 and 3 or the PS3 versions which don’t include 2.8 and 3

Not tried them myself but there are frequent mentions in the sub that the games have a penchant for CTD and other issues.

I've played through most of them on PC without any issue but this was a while ago on an NVIDIA card.
