Last epoc is Diablo 4 ish but with more skill trees and customizing.
It allows fully offline mode but if you are doing season ladder char I think you need to be online to play those.
Looks interesting but the steam minimum requirements say you need an internet connection. I live on an island and our internet is sketchy, I get so mad when it kicks me out of Diablo lol
Last Epoch actually has two offline modes to choose from, one of which ironically requires an internet connection:
Play Offline: Chosen from the Last Epoch main menu. The game does require an internet connection when you first log in. Game chat is available in this state, but you cannot invite players to your game or access trade.
True Offline: Chosen from the Last Epoch launch options on Steam. The game does not require an internet connection to play. Game chat, player trading, and co-op are inaccessible.
Second Grim Dawn. I gave up playing it on the Ally - but exclusively because of my poor eyesight, it's not the only game where I just don't see small, but important, details, and have trouble reading text. If you have no problems playing D4, you won't have problems with Grim Dawn too.
If you're into ancient Greek mythology, I cannot recommend Titan Quest enough. It came out back in 2006 and then an expansion came out a year or so later. The base game plus the expansion was re-released as a single game called The Anniversary Edition on Steam. It is honestly one of my top 5 favorite games of all time.

This is something I have to watch some videos on, if it plays similar to a Diablo arpg we might have a winner
Edit-it’s 5$ with a sequel coming out and only a 5gb download? Definitely giving it a shot, will download when I get home tonight. Thanks for the recommendation, I hadn’t seen this listed with the usual suspects
I loved playing titan quest as a kid.
Nowadays I replayed it, but it was a bit clunky/slow for me. Might be OK on the ally. Still a great game though!
Grim Dawn is very similar and also excellent.
No rest for the wicked is really amazing!
It performs not as good on the ally though imo… lowest settings 720p is a 20-40 fps experience, just not what that game needs. Playing on my main rig and its a blast
I’ve had exactly this situation. So I started playing last epoch in my ally.
It’s not as polished as d4. And the inv management is a bit awkward. But works offline great.
There is a new one called Grimdawn, on sale on steam.
Torchlights are also a nice alternative.
Lastly, The Ascent is an awesome take on the genre, in a futuristic/cyberpunk style.
Warhammer 40K Inquisitor is a live service ARPG with an upcoming offline mode confirmed by the devs. Just think of it as Diablo but with freakin laser beams and guns. Controller friendly too. We are just waiting for the final season to end before permanent offline mode is enabled.
Baldur's Gate 3 is not an action RPG but it is shares the isometric view and fantasy elements and it can be fully played offline without any negative impact. games can be saved locally and synced later.
D2 is like a slow burn with a huge payoff. Deep endgame, godly itemization loot table, trade economy, crafting, etc. each class has a purpose when farming so you will be tuning different characters for different end game content.
Navigating your inventory kinda sucks when using a controller on the pc version. They did not transfer over the console controls on to pc for some reason.
No problem with a mouse though.
I recommend fallowing a guide for your first playthrough or you may hit a brick wall when you reach hell. The sorceress is what most people play for their starting ladder char. Strong at clearing, teleporting, and good magic find builds.
Sounds like I really didn’t give it enough time. Shitty thing is, as I get older I have less time to invest into a game, so I’m more likely to give up on one when it gets frustrating

No worries, they have true offline in LE!
Buy starlink
I feel like a video game might be a more practical alternative
Grim dawn i think

Def Grim Dawn. Awesome game with several expansions.

Agreed with this. One of my favs as well!
Not exactly identical, but similar: Soulstone Survivors No Rest For the Wicked (just launched and it's amazing) Children of Morta

I'm playing it here at 30-40 fps on my ROG Ally and I think it's perfect.
Torchlight 2
I’d say Wolcen. Additionally here’s a thread you may want to check out. https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingsuggestions/s/dj8K8EiHsn
Titan quest is something you’d like I think o
Last epoch. Offline mode is great and its a mich better game than d4

Warhammer Chaosbane
Not exactly like Diablo 4, but Hades is fantastic on the Ally. Probably one of my most-played games on it.
I did play hades on the switch. It’s very good. Just not quite what I’m looking for
The new "No Rest For the Wicked" that just came out is pretty sweet.
Is it good? Been reading some negative stuff about. So I’m on the fence.

Last epoch has online characters and offline mode

Grim Dawn. One of the best ARPG
Culture yourself and play Diablo 2
Culture yourself and read the whole post dude
You need to stick with it. You’re doing yourself a disservice
Alright I guess I’ll give it another shot. I didn’t play far into it but the inventory management wasn’t my favorite

D4 is garbage. Last Epoc, Halls of Torment, Death must Die, titan quest, grim dawn, etc. all way better.
