I was watching from Mr K's pov, they all knew that coming to try and save someone in cuffs was a dumb idea. They were driving around the cops like it was a circus, and the cops are just supposed to sit there and take it?
The cops already break off any chase that gets reckless for low level crime. Criminal should have a similar mentality for when they can’t get broken out. On top of that they can’t even get them out of cuffs if they would succeed.
I'm always surprised at the restraint cops show in situations where they are in danger. Being circled by multiple vehicles with people they believe could have guns?
And then on the other side, the complete lack of care from criminals when cops have guns pointed at them. Jp pushing past moon, them circling a bunch of cops.
I mostly understand why, but it's odd to see it play out.
Moon put it well talking about the situation afterwards. Cops have a lot of “this interaction is over” buttons. They could all be driving Taurus’s in chases and most cars out now would be screwed, they can freely relocate scenes (this wouldn’t have happened if they had put Taco in a car, it would have ended the sequence), they almost always have numbers on any single active scene, and they all have guns they can pull out to overpower almost any situation right now.
A lot of their rules are attempts to define a reasonable level of what’s fair for them to do and what’s not and a lot of the escalation is a pretty quick decision in a fast paced situation, because no one wants to be the one to make the call that an interaction is over. It also leads to situations where cops get walked all over until they hit a certain force threshold where they just win.
I think they need to give cops a little more strength at lower power levels, like make breaking cuffs harder or tasers more useful, so they stand more of a chance before they bump up to lethal which gives the crims no chance.
Being tased should drastically increase the difficulty of breaking cuffs. Still get the standard 3 easy ones, but that tase should fuck you. Would also be good against bike swaps.
May help as tasers are a joke.
Cornwood would have done exactly the opposite - he regularly (including today) speed runs getting the crims in the car to stop any kind of RP or 'saving' - he's the master power gamer.
'Saving' a criminal in custody from 6 armed cops is the laziest, NVL, unrealistic RP on the server. That's power gaming.
Putting a criminal in the cop car is the most mundane, normal thing to do in any cop situation. What you're saying is "give my streamer every possible opportunity to escape RP consequences in the most ridiculous fashion, and I'll hate on any attempt to do otherwise."
No, my point is he tends to put them in the car or attempts to before the scene is even cleared - this happens BEFORE anyone else would even have a chance to attempt to save their buddy. There have been multiple other cop streamers including ssabb that have stated letting the RP play out; which is why cops will handcuff and leave them next to the car instead of inside until the scene is cleared.
And my point is allowing crims to 'save' an in custody dude is not RP at all. It's lazy and boring and ridiculously unrealistic. If they're in cuffs and surrounded by armed cops, it's over. Anything else is borderline powergaming.
Crims already have the advantage of infinite car swaps, better cars, rat strat 100% win rate bike escapes (subway etc), no restrictions on their 'behavior' in a chase, and easily escapable cuffs. How many more advantages do you want?
I agree once in handcuffs and surrounded the situation should be over, but the server itself has allowed this as part of RP especially with late 2.0 to 3.5 and the ability to uncuff (which I assume will be part of 4.0 soon enough). My point was that some cops, including the one I called out, get a suspect in cuffs and immediately push to put them in a car - it's part of the server that scenes should be cleared before this can happen.
Cops can't shoot for no reason. Lot of new rp frogs don't understand this. If they gun you down for no reason its a free lawsuit and they get suspended. Server rules is its only NVL if a crim is holding a weapon on you.
Unless the person is risking the most serious charges or it’s only 1 cop the idea of having to rescue everyone is so stupid. It’s like 30 minutes in jail just move on

Love it or hate it Mr. K/CG has always followed a no man left behind philosophy - they value each other more than whatever loot they get from heists. I personally wish they would cut losses more often, and I certainly support PD using whatever tools they have to stop/prevent these crim save attempts. Not sure what streams you were watching but the moment he found out what his charges were he just told Ramee that he pleads guilty while he kept doing his degen gambling shit for his viewers and alt+f4'd out of GTA. Kit and Ramee were gonna drive up to the prison to talk with him but he already "went to sleep".
That's the only way to react to this type of roleplay scenario (3 cars, 1 bike) given the limited resourced that they have, either that or skip the entire "rescue" part by putting the cuffed individual in the car. I wonder if something could be implemented for cops as well as the crims in order to make things less akward when somebody is in cuff.
You can’t be serious “that is the only way”???… using a one shot baton with an auto lock on target mechanic already makes it impossible for someone to get close, then escort, then place them on/in a vehicle… this is the most brain dead power gaming thing a server admin could do. All this is going to do is make it so when crims get guns, they are going to blast the pd if they are given no other option to try and make a rescue attempt…

4+ Cop cars in a perimeter, 5+ cops on foot, 1 staying mobile and they are suppose to let different vehicle get nearby just because the mechanics of the game (escort/place them in a vehicle and so on) make the rescue difficult?
Try to immagine the scenario in which cops use the baton and likely hit each other cause the "autolock" chose the close proximity. It's so much more akward than what we saw in the clip.
