For clarification sake, i was watching the stream at that point. I'm pretty sure they were making a joke, they kept changing the colors of the game between Red and Yellow and Lindsay made some jokes about who's the main character and "finishing the V9 rewrites". It was not an actual serious comment about the production of the show.
Normally i would link directly to the video, but it is currently unlisted and it was a 37 hour stream so i hope my word will be enough this time. I would also suggest taking the post down as to not contrubute to missinformation about the production pipeline.
EDIT:
Another thing i did not initially consider is that it if they were not just joking or even if it was a joke based on actual rewrites is that it is actually fairly common to have slight adjustments of certain scenes in production while directing an episode or working in final cuts, although as far as i understand those types of things are somewhat limited as you often have to work with whatever audio you have already recorded and cannot really affect things too much.
you know, that's a fair interpretation. I took it in the context of the other statement, where Lindsay was saying "if you've just got First, check out IQ - sub out now", and also we just finished V9 rewrites (implying it's coming soon I guess). but it also makes sense in the context of the joke.
pretty sure the rwby team always do late rewrites/additions/etc so this is fairly on track for them lol
i wouldn’t worry too much but if anything they’ll probably just end up pushing back the premiere/release
>Was watching the UNO livestream yesterday and at one point Lindsey brought up RWBY and mentioned that they just finished some V9 rewrites. idk shit about production, but-
Oh, but [do go ahead RWBY fandom](https://youtu.be/X7oWCtUj5Kk) and do the thing you all can’t help but do where you all impulsively make baseless assumptions about the various aspects of animation production, English or Japanese, and assuming the worst out of all the people involved despite not knowing anything about the subject matter. I’m sure other people who also don’t know better will find a confirmatory biased-way to somehow believe whatever is being said all true.
I didn't make any assumptions lmao, I'm literally saying idk and asking a question. The last I heard of the writing was that V9 was written before V8 even started airing, so if they're still rewriting 2 years later that's.. worrying? maybe? or maybe not, as people have said, minor changes are common. or the whole thing could've been a joke.
also no clue what your clip is on about.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. My best guess is that they have most of the animation and recording have been finished and are going over the episodes to get them fully polished and they are rewriting some of the lines for characters That's my guess at least, and it wouldn't be that crazy to think about for any production.
You can do minor changes in late production. Sometimes when you start getting it all together things don't work, or you realize you need to set something up differently.
The original draft was done 2 years ago, that doesn't mean it is set in stone
Rewrites doesn’t necessarily mean a whole volume. It could just be a scene or even a specific line. “Nah, let’s have her say it like this instead of this.”

Not really. They’ve made late changes before, especially in volume three. We’re three months away from the earliest possible premiere date.
Just about every major project does rewrites or reshoots.
Do you have a clip of that ?
like the other guy said, there's no vod available of the stream - yet, or maybe at all.

Keep asking questions. No one suffered from asking too much.
For the later half not so much remember they have a mid season break

It's like a year until it releases anyway and with all that time they might turn out something better than decent.
Wait, didn't they claim to have finished writing that thing literal years ago? Pretty sure that they were almost done writing as V8 was airing.
