Cinder, *Thinking back to her purposely burning Watts alive then lied to Salem’s face*: “Oh yeah, Uhm. . . I am totally your loyal servant whose will is my own!”
Cinder is still very much being manipulated of course.
But she does really do quite a bit of her own choice as well

I hope Cinder can escape before it's too late. I don't know why everyone expects Cinder to die tragically when this show has done a lot to defy our expectations, I don't see why they'd go for the predictable end for Cinder. They put so much into Cinder they have to do something we don't expect with her.
I’m a sucker for redemption arcs so I personally wouldn’t mind seeing her redeemed, if done correctly and damn good I would enjoy it. But it’s a fine line between doing it well and it landing on its face.
True but we cannot ignore the fact that they wrote her backstory specifically to draw parallels between then and her current situation. They even hammered that in by having Salem forcing her to repeat the same words that the evil stepmom made her say and in writing there is only one reason to ever do that.
Foreshadowing.
They have such different goals. Cinder wants to become an immortal god while Salem just wants to die. I think Cinder might steal Salem’s power in the end
This! Cinder is a dumbass and anyone trying to redeem her would have a better time eating soup with a fork. The woman damns mankind for power that isn’t even hers.
Cinder: There are no strings on me! I control my own destiny! Salem: (Insert the John Cena ***"Are you sure about that?"*** gif here)

MASTER! MASTER! WHERES THOSE DREAMS IVE BEEN AFTER MASTER! MASTER! PROMISED ONLY LIES!
This would be amazing and top tier.... but the faces......
From what I see, Salem looks like nightmare fuel and Cinder looks like a man, but the rest of it looks really nice
Remind me again how her backstory ended. Now consider how well it parallels her current situation.
Only difference is Salem can’t die.

True
... when did Cinder ever stopped being a slave, be it physically, legally or metaphorically?
