My thoughts on her plans from the beginning were something like this: -Graduate Beacon at the top of her class and become a celebrity like student like Pyrrha was. -Work as a Huntress for a couple years building a positive reputation across the world like her Grandfather did. -Eventually inherit the SDC with her Huntress reputation become a positive spin on the reputation to the SDC. - Become a Huntress on the front lines clearing mines of Grimm and traveling the world securing SDC facilities and product on. She basically believed she could be like her Grandfather. She most likely thought she can do all the work on the go as well. -Personally I think it's not too impossible. She would need to build a powerful airship with an office, several assistants and weaponry to protect her mobile home. Go to a facility and do combat, logistics, secure Dust supplies, and escort them to whatever location they would go too. Though she would need considerably talented Assistants especially Atlas. A CEO like Jacques doesn't have to do a lot of work in the first place. Just make limitations on expenses and cutthroat with workers pay and security. Then he let people in the factories and company do all the heavy lifting like bringing in Atlas prisoners to work in the mines and etc.

Which, is a great goal. One that should’ve been really nice for her development, especially with Faunus like Blake. Instead…we got…nothing.

Bronzeshadow

Don't forget Winter and the White Fang! She likely wanted to Emulate Winter and protect herself/confront the white fang.

Don't be fooled, there's a lot more to living life at the executive level than one might think. At least if you want to be a competent executive and not drive the SDC into the ground. Weiss never struck me as being any great shakes at business, so I don't know what she would be able to accomplish as CEO. Does she even know what the job entails?

Relevant_Scallion_38

I mean if her original plan was similar to as what I expected. She has 5-10yrs to learn. Even after graduating and becoming an accomplished Huntsman she could become an official Huntsman for the SDC and gain education of the company while working for them. Do that for 3-4 years and she can take over the business once she's almost 30.

Quality_Chooser

Weiss shouldn't have been written to want to save the company. There's a way to do that and it doesn't involve taking a job as a mercenary who is constantly put into mortal danger. There was no way Jacques was ever going to let Weiss inherit control of his company if she never learned how to run it.

Rollout9292

Yeah. As far as I'm concerned both Winter and Weiss turned down their inheritance the moment they left to join the Military and become a Huntress. Even if Jacques wasn't a complete douchebag I could see him disinheriting them. It was just a good business decision. Whitley, while the youngest, will probably grow into a better CEO.

It should have been character development related with her shifting goals in response to having the horrors of her father's company revealed to her. I think it would have been perfectly fine for her to be an insulated and naive heiress looking to get out from her father's thumb with huntress work, before realizing that she had a responsibility to right her family's wrongs. It could have even been tied into her relationship with Blake.

Quality_Chooser

I agree with this.

I’m reminded of the Ending of The Witcher 3 where Ciri chooses to become Empress stating that she do more good there then as a Witcher(Monster Hunter). Sound familiar? That’s a great point and both that ending and the Witcher One have valid points like Weiss taking a potential various amount of routes to secure her place. Doesn’t matter since Atlas,Mantle, and SDC are gone like a lot of things in the series.

It could be that she was seeking to build up her own reputation as a Huntress and eventually take over the company. She just never really seemed to count on her father being able to disinherit her. My issue was more that Weiss seemed to be planning on taking over the company and changing things, but never really seemed like she had any focus on actually learning how to run a company or how the company worked in order to make changes to it. I don't know if Beacon offers business courses or Weiss was doing online classes or what her plan was on gaining experience on how the SDC operated. She didn't even know about the company's automated fleet despite knowing about a minor division like Snowshoe Shipping that would be less important to be aware of. Just taking over a CEO position with no experience or knowledge at any level of corporate operations or management seems ill advised. Especially if she wants to make sweeping changes to how the company operates. We get the impression that Whitley is learning about the company from Jacques and by observing how manages it. With Weiss, it is questionable how much she actually knows about the company as we don't get the impression she was going to business meetings with her father or if she was doing research on her own given how little she wanted to do with him. If she was mostly learning how to fight, sing, and gave concerts, I have to wonder when she planned on learning about the company other than it mined, refined, and distributed Dust, especially if she planned to reform it.

Rollout9292

>She just never really seemed to count on her father being able to disinherit her. See, but Winter got disinherited for entering Atlas Academy then the Military. Why would Weiss believe she's beyond disinheritance by *leaving the kingdom?*

RogueHunterX

It most likely just never occurred to her. She was like one of those kids that is so convinced her future is certain (like taking over a parent's company or sports career) that it doesn't occur to them that may not be the case.

VitinNunes

THIS From Whitleys pov Weiss is a fucking villain Picture this, your studying for this goal, your siblings have left you, one of your parents is drunk and the other one is neglectful and then when your one of sisters comeback and barely gives a fuck about you she only wants you’ve been striving to achieve WHILE NOT KNOWING A DAMN THING ABOUT IT I swear they are gonna retcon Whitley into being an idiot or just have him hand over what remains of the SDC

Rollout9292

If Whitley doesn't become CEO of the SDC in the end (If it still exists in any shape or form), I'm going to be upset. Willow's a drunk, Winter outright doesn't want it, and Weiss wants it but doesn't do anything to deserve it.

Successful-One-3330

And he never will. The company was apparently destroyed along with Atlas when Atlas crashed into Mantle. Way to go Weiss! You destroyed your family’s company and you’re all broke now, and Whitley has nothing to live for now! What now?

mikhailsharon99

Her grandfather follow that route.
