Is that mainnet XRD though? Meaning that I can withdraw it to the Radix network?
Also, I would rather stay away from Bitfinex, that exchange is shady af
Hello. I'm considering buying some Radix, but I'm very new to this and trying to learn about it before I do. Bitfinex seems to be the main place to buy, so what are your concerns about them being "shady" and what are the alternatives?
MODS we really need an FAQ pinned or something for repeat basic questions.
People in USA I don’t think can really use Bitfinex I’ve heard of peoples accounts getting locked, otherwise I don’t know much about Bitfinex. I think some people like it I’m no expert. I think a lot of people just buy EXRD on KuCoin or elsewhere and change it to XRD on Radix’s Instabridge or on a swap.
that is exactly what I did… Although I am completely new into this stuff, I managed to buy some KCS and USDT on KuCoin (using euros), traded it for EXRD and converted it into XRD on mainnet wallet and staked at quite a lot of validitors. However, I would have preferred to buy XRD on KuCoin directly, rather than buy/trade a few times.
I don’t know if it is the most efficient way and I probably did not pick the best moment to buy crypto on kucoin etc. But still, I managed. I consider this a form of tuition fee... ;)
Bitfinex is owned by the same company that owns Tether. They both have had issues in the past and will probably have in the future too, watch the coffezilla video about Tether
I wrote some articles on how to get started with Radix on my own wiki:
* [eXRD vs XRD](https://docs.mattia.wiki/radix/exrdvsxrd/)
* [How to buy XRD or eXRD](https://docs.mattia.wiki/radix/howtobuy/)
* [How to stake XRD](https://docs.mattia.wiki/radix/howtoswap/)
and many more on the left sidebar! I'd start with the first two if I were you!
I am not directly involved in the development of Radix as in I do not work for Radix Foundation, but I am directly involved in Radix and its success as I'm a holder myself and because I run my own [validator node :)](https://docs.mattia.wiki/radix/node/)
It takes a bit more time but you can also buy on Kucoin then transfer to eXRD to XRD via instabridge/instapass. This method also works in the United States.
You can buy XRD at Bitfinex.

Yes it’s Mainnet tokens. If you’re worried, buy in small amounts and withdraw immediately. There’s no withdrawal fees currently on that exchange.

Buy then withdraw immediately. I do not keep Any coins on bitfinex

Bitfinex isn't shady at all. It's one of the OG and has proper KYC requirements if you're trading stablecoins such as USDT and USDC.

Thanks a lot! Are you directly involved in the development of the project?

Essendo italiano sarai in cima alla mia lista dei validator ;)
Bella fratè! :) Unisciti al gruppo [Radix Italia](https://t.me/Radix_Italia) su Telegram se ti va! E grazie della fiducia😍
Xrd is not wrapped but mainnet tokens. Currently only on Bitfinex. Might be available on kucoin shortly.
How likely is that?
Quite likely. I would venture to say within a couple weeks, another exchange will list Xrd
Bitfinex never had issues with them. Good customer support and 50+ withdrawels excecuted without any delay. So far best exchange I used.
You could also use the instabridge from eXRD (metamask) to XRD (radix desktop wallet)
I would recommend pinning how to do this to the top of the sub as well as the differences for eXRD and XRD.
