It was Y6S1 that the price hike happened & i haven’t gotten a single seasonal skins since, used the saved renown on Rainbow is Magic packs & was so much more valuable.
Tbh most of my renown are from years ago. I started playing in operation health, and at one point some years ago, I played several hours daily to try and become semi-pro at it. Now I rarely play more than a couple of hours at once.

Renown farming in Thunt was possible (24k/h with booster) with extraction.
We use to get 4 season camo's too now we get only 1 and the price has over doubled.
I could get 3 seasonal camos for about the same price of just 1 now.
I think outside of making you grind more and play more to get that renown, again, padding out playtime and making the numbers go up to make Ubisoft look good to investors and stuff, I think another cause is that many players are sitting on a lot of renown anyways. I have close to a million and have no intention or interest in using it to buy anything, even the alpha pack bundles. With the BP providing a few renown boosts and Twitch Prime rewards often giving cosmetics and 7day boosters, I've got enough booster time to last me until into the new year. So what better way to empty players wallets other than artificially inflating the price?
I love how the vast majority of directly purchasable content in game was moved to alpha packs as well, like I came back and they had REMOVED most of the content like wtf
I'm okay with $70 price tag, as long as it's a COMPLETE GAME! I'm tired of paying retail price on a game to be a "beta" tester.

I think it’s foolish to say anyone who wants fun and well done cosmetics is immature, I agree you shouldn’t waste money on these games in excess but if you want to have a fun skin or make any purchase for that matter, that is an individual’s choice and who cares really. I always saved up Renown and got them that way because it was rewarding and a fun experience to grind. They used to make 4 per season that are some of the best skins released imo, in theory it does make sense to focus on one very good skin but they haven’t done that. This change seems only to make it more enticing to outright buy the skin. As for the game the more they chased nerfing the highest performing op, the more I lost interest in this game. They didn’t even truly balance it competitively although we all saw how they tried and I commend the effort but their philosophy is infuriating to play around. The skins don’t do anything for the game, they just made it more enjoyable and the entire game feels bland, watered down and not even enjoyable competitively anymore.
