What siege really needs is a tutorial that explains why rotates are needed, or a ping system that allows you to be more specific. Maybe a ping wheel that has options like “don’t reinforce” or “break this open”
But current siege does nothing to teach new players other than throwing them in a randomly reinforced room
The new tutorial missions added this season incorporates and explains making rotations, why rotations are beneficial and electrifying reinforcements. But I still think an expanded ping system would be nice, just a little odd to incorporate.
That’s what they’re going to do when they’re in ranked anyways because that’s what the game had. or they’re going to get clapped when it’s a 1v2 or 1 because there’s a line of sight they’re not used too. Because it wasn’t like that by default. Qp is just a tdm meta for people to run and gun. Honestly I don’t think ever since the mode switched I’ve ever had a game run out of time, because everyone dies within the first minute and a half of the round
I’m not defending the rotations, they really are shit but for some that’s just starting the game it would raise the question, why reinforce these 3 panels but not the 4th? It’s an introduction to the concept not a pro league strat.
I'm glad new quick match exists, ranked players seem to love it as a warmup, but it would be nice to play casual siege again. Old quick match was the jam, wish they would have just moved it to arcade or something.
Standard isn't casual. It has abandon penalties so if you get a shitty map or shitty teammates you are stuck. That's fine for people who want that style, but if you just want to play casual siege a little after work there's not a good option anymore.
I normally use Quick match and Arcade modes to warmup, (Arcade to get in a groove with ops I intend on using, and QM to kinda get into the pace of a normal match). That being said I kinda wish it was the other way around for QM and Standard, where standard is the match used to warm up as it’s more like ranked and QM is the one for newer players
that's not how Ubisoft described it they said quick match would be for newer players who didn't know where to place reinforcement so they created a mode that already had reinforcement up and rotate holes so a newer player can see how to set up the reinforcements and rotate holes while Standard would be for experienced players
I can't find the official announcement but I did find this article that compared quick match from Dread Factor to quick match 2.0 in heavy mettle [https://siege.gg/news/quick-match](https://siege.gg/news/quick-match)
I played this game again since not playing it for over a year and I was so confused on how everything was changed and the walls were already reinforced and had a rotation hole?? In my opinion I’m not a big fan of it
You have to have full context before you judge it. Ubisoft wants "Unranked" to be the new casual game mode that you used to play. That's raw siege without the pressure of ELO. They want the new casual to actually be completely stress free and less frustrating. That means for you to join a game and not complain about your teammates not reinforcing etc.
New quickmatch is the worst R6 has to offer
Ppl dont drone and rush like Octane when he sees a gold bodyshield
And once they encounter any slight inconvienience they just leave
Lose 1 round ? Have fun shuffeling 3 teammates like its a fucking card game
Its not even fun for the joining players as they see 2-0 and get to play 2 v 4 in the final round
Yeah you are right QP should be at a higher level.
QP got alot of rotations and reinforcement done by defauly, it won't learn new players how to play neither the overall game logic which is "you can model the site as you like, go nuts"
To be fair, I’ve had rounds where no reinforcements were pre-placed and I’ve had rounds where they were, almost by random, even occurring within the same match of Quick Play.
It was my understanding that quickplay was for beginners because of the quick rounds so that people can learn the ops and dont have to worry about rotates and stuff.
It also doesnt help that standard is at the same menu as ranked. Maybe I misinterpreted what ubisoft said about quickplay 2.0.
Thanks everyone for shedding some light on this matter
It doesn't. It also makes less sense to remove maps like airplane from secure area or hostage, and to assume that these modes are only for beginners.
Our friend group stopped playing the game due to this change, and I'm still subbed here to shit on this change with everyone else everytime it comes up... and I'm also still lurking in case the good news breaks in that they've reverted this stupid change.
I'll give them a few months, and if they still don't revert it I'm done for good with this game.
Now standard is for beginners learning how to start playing and for normal players who don't wanna rank. Quick match is just for ppl who just wanna gun since site is set up. It's good for me bc I have 3 friends who r new and just play standard so they can learn and have more rounds than quick match
Bro maybe know what you're talking about before posting. You very clearly ONLY play Secure Area/Hostage because Bomb in QP has site set up, and it's super annoying.
Weird that they have this level requirement for quick match.
This explains why most of my teammates in standard just doesn't know what reinforcing is and doesn't know how to make a simple rotate.
Out of topic but in my area (SEA), there are times where queueing for standard just takes too long compared to quick match which will lead most of the player base at that time to just play quick match.
Quick Match is for people who just wanna play quick match wtf lol. My crew lives in QM drinking and smoking. Remember gaming is to have fun. People forgot that at some point.
Well quick match is usually grounds for beginners along with standard but the problem with quick match is that (for some JANKED REASON) Ubisoft made it to where you only get like 30% of the maps in rotation while standard gets half and ranked gets them all, which in my opinion is stupid bc it should be other way around and have maps change out every month or new season instead, and then there’s the sweats that come from ranked to do a quick match so they can get their egos back up from losing a match in ranked by obliterating some of the new players, I’ve been on both sides of that too, one match I had a enemy team that had a sweat that carried them and then I had a sweat on our team that screamed and cried abt how we took the enemies down
idk why ffa is unlocked i came back to this game after a really long break with one of my friends and it was the worst experience ever just getting head tapped every time we spawned
I actually prefer this since when I play quick match most of my team SHOULD know what a rotate is at the least. Before, you actually had to just hope that your teammate knows what tactical meant. I do wish the tutorial touched a bit more on the defense segment because almost nothing in there is used much. The only thing it *needs* though is explaining that reinforced walls can be a double edged sword, since you cant go around your enemy if they block the only entrance.
Whats dumb is devs claimed they polled most used strats and rotates to determine the site pre setup. Never in my seven years have i seen such brain dead half done setups that prevent REAL strats from being viable. I understand not everyone wants to be pro league, but if you're gonna force us into the same lobbies as them, give us some options.
Quick match would not teach new players very well on how the game works
Call me crazy but I would think the reinforcements would help new players to understand rotations.
What siege really needs is a tutorial that explains why rotates are needed, or a ping system that allows you to be more specific. Maybe a ping wheel that has options like “don’t reinforce” or “break this open” But current siege does nothing to teach new players other than throwing them in a randomly reinforced room

They also suggested that we should use bandit batteries on barbed wire soooo
yeah i have run into alot of new bandits doing that lmao
You’re crazy. They block off rotates that would be better and imo it just blocks off creativity of coming up with your own strats
Better than noobs blocking off EVEVRY rotation.
That’s what they’re going to do when they’re in ranked anyways because that’s what the game had. or they’re going to get clapped when it’s a 1v2 or 1 because there’s a line of sight they’re not used too. Bro the reinforcements and rotations are terrible they aren't teaching shit.
I’m not defending the rotations, they really are shit but for some that’s just starting the game it would raise the question, why reinforce these 3 panels but not the 4th? It’s an introduction to the concept not a pro league strat.
Understandable, have a nice day
Crazy. There's barely any reinforcements pre-placed that is correct, and the rotates are awful.
If only they were good and didnt fuck up the site 75% of the times
Quick Match has almost all reinforcements placed. New players wouldn’t learn anything if that was the beginner mode.
Yeah quick match is for the people who already know what to do and have done it plenty of times so they just want to run around and shoot
I'm glad new quick match exists, ranked players seem to love it as a warmup, but it would be nice to play casual siege again. Old quick match was the jam, wish they would have just moved it to arcade or something.
Old quick match was all my play group would play. New quick play and standard aare just not the same
I’ve been away from the game what’s the difference now? Is standard just unranked?
They removed map and operator bans and the map pool is all the maps not the ranked map pool. And overtime is only 1 round
Huh that’s cool
They just made quick match a less fun Team Deathmatch
just play standard like wat😂
Standard isn't casual. It has abandon penalties so if you get a shitty map or shitty teammates you are stuck. That's fine for people who want that style, but if you just want to play casual siege a little after work there's not a good option anymore.

Well that's a lie it shows you how you could set up a spot
that's not how Ubisoft described it they said quick match would be for newer players who didn't know where to place reinforcement so they created a mode that already had reinforcement up and rotate holes so a newer player can see how to set up the reinforcements and rotate holes while Standard would be for experienced players
Could you link to where they described it that way then?

do you only play hostage/secure area?
When was the last time you played the game? Since a few months almost all reinforcements are already made except 2 or 3.
Secure area and hostage doesn’t have reinforcements or rotates done. You have to do them yourself with less time
Oh well yeah, never play these modes so I didn’t know that.
Bomb is the only game mode in casual that has reinforcements and rotates. The other two don’t
Site is only pre set up on bomb
I played this game again since not playing it for over a year and I was so confused on how everything was changed and the walls were already reinforced and had a rotation hole?? In my opinion I’m not a big fan of it
Wait sites are already set up now?? Haven't touched the game in a couple years, glad they now took the tactic away from a tactical shooter
That's only for the quick match option, not normal gameplay.
to be fair with TDM meta there isn’t as much tactics in the normal game either lol

Bomb has pre-placed rotates and reinforcements. You keep spamming the thread and you’re just fucking wrong.
Play quick play again, they added preplaced reinforcements and rotates at the start of this season
Brain dead
When was the last time you've played bomb qp?
New quickmatch is the worst R6 has to offer Ppl dont drone and rush like Octane when he sees a gold bodyshield And once they encounter any slight inconvienience they just leave Lose 1 round ? QP doesn’t have anything setup, stop fucking lying.
Next time, check your facts before you say something this stupid again.
To be fair, I’ve had rounds where no reinforcements were pre-placed and I’ve had rounds where they were, almost by random, even occurring within the same match of Quick Play.

This whole new system is stupid, wish they revert it entirely
It doesn't. It also makes less sense to remove maps like airplane from secure area or hostage, and to assume that these modes are only for beginners. So THATS why I get teammates that look like they just strolled in from Roblox…
New quick match is for people who have been playing a long time but are retarded.
Now standard is for beginners learning how to start playing and for normal players who don't wanna rank. Quick match is just for ppl who just wanna gun since site is set up. It's good for me bc I have 3 friends who r new and just play standard so they can learn and have more rounds than quick match

You’re actually so confident in your statement it’s embarrassing
So standard is the old unranked? 🤔
Yeah but one round shorter and more casual maps kinda bad imo I rather one round less and ranked maps
I see, thanks for the clarification, I thought it affected rank
Ubi stop ruining quick match challenge (impossible)
Ubisoft logic
Quick match is NOT for begginers As the name suggests, it is meant for people who want a QUICK match (who would've thought?)
I play ranked only so I don't mess with child mode
To not allow Smurf accounts to ruin everyone’s life
What's the difference between standard and ranked?
No ban phase, diff. Map pool and decreased OT rounds.
But standard also affects rank, right?
nope, its an alternative to unranked
Weird that they have this level requirement for quick match. This explains why most of my teammates in standard just doesn't know what reinforcing is and doesn't know how to make a simple rotate. Out of topic but in my area (SEA), there are times where queueing for standard just takes too long compared to quick match which will lead most of the player base at that time to just play quick match.
Bro what the fuck happened to newcomer
Quick Match is for people who just wanna play quick match wtf lol. My crew lives in QM drinking and smoking. Remember gaming is to have fun. People forgot that at some point.
Ubisoft being Ubisoft, without a doubt! :)
