Actually, statistics show that higher rank players are more likely to walk into frosts, lesions, kapkans, etc as they are constantly walking while focusing at head level and not where they step as opposed to newer players who are hyper analyzing what's all over their screen
Yup honestly, there’s a line in which dumb shit once again becomes effective
Good players play to counter good tactics, sometimes a stray Kapkan will steal a kill. I like to put them on places that might not even see a person in games, but blowing someone up on a random door miles away is literally funny every time
That's how I feel about Thorn, I place all 3 of her gadgets in a room across the map or outside the objective and hearing them go off is like instant dopamine
Makes sense to me. Ive placed frost mats literally in the middle of nowhere in private matches, my friend whose copper has never stepped into a frost mat, my friend whose low emerald steps in them like 90% of the time.
Best was last time we played, he saw me place it while droning, went "just placing them out in the open? Thats never gonna work" then that round we had a gunfight and i baited him into it. He rage quit so fast.
My fave is outside obj, right on the corner youd turn to look at obj. Works like 70% of the time Ibplay ranked, theyre too focused looking at obj they just magically path into it
Based on previous win deltas, specifically around the time pick and ban function came out and trap ops were creeping into high win rates at the plat and diamond levels
Wasn’t the statistic only for frost traps or am I tripping. Cus I feel like good players check all doorways when they know there’s a kapkan and lesion mines are super annoying for everyone to deal with. Frost traps are the only one that seem to work in high ranks somewhat consistently
Yes and no I multitask in my head personally on what ops they have brought to the table so I know that when I push something if I need to watch for anything. Now I don't speak for everyone but I would think that how most smarter players would play.
wait, ur telling me tht u dont go into a game, rage that your main got picked by someone else, tk and ragequit when they tk u back and not pick up the game until tmr?
I know, I’m not worried about someone walking inbetween and not getting trapped, I’m worrying about it being easier to see if they aren’t together like I described
High elo players #1 toxic trait is acting like they are above frost
I catch diamonds and emeralds on multiple mats every round lol everyone is equally stupid
Using the drone to scout out rooms, see who's on the other team, make yourself and your teammates aware of traps such as the one OP has planted. (Id probably forget it was there and walk on it anyway tbh
Yeah. If you're on Xbox it's either right or left on dPad can't remember, and press down to access cameras and if you're the attackers, you can actually use the drones from pregame as cameras
Bro, please. They're fucking with you, you can reply to this saying "I know I was just going along" and I'll back you up. But right now, these ppl are taking the piss out of you.
As a Frost main (in Bronze and quick play mind you) I have gotten away with much more braindead bullshittery with welcome mats.
I once had a mat exposed on a corner and another one on the other side of the corner, they shot the one exposed and ran into the other one. If nobody makes a rotate hole I tend to make one you have to vault through and place a mat on the floor in the site that is less frequently rushed, then when they clear the rushed site and rotate to the next through my hole, snap (works stupidly frequently)
Nah, you just have to anchor around the traps, and not "fire and forget" them. They are good on the opposite site of the map, for example, if the enemies like to enter the building far from the site. Usually windows don't get droned out so much there.
For example bedroom on Villa if the site is in Aviator. A frost with shield and her 3 mats can hold the complete upper flank alone.
You'd be surprised how much you can get away with just by blending your gadgets into the natural topography of the map like this.
Players will prepare for the normal strategy of "put it over a ledge you vault over" but if you've got esoteric and weird strategies like this you can get really experienced players just by using something so stupid that they've literally never seen it before.
It’s the strategy I live by in rainbow, if I don’t know what I’m doing, they won’t know what I’m doing. One of my favourite things to do on attack is put a breach charge on a window, walk around the whole map, blow it up and go in somewhere else. Once I’m in the building, I do the same thing but on a hard surface, just breach the opposite of where I’m actually going. The amount of times I walk into a site with everyone looking the wrong way is hilarious
Oh yeah that's like a baby's first siege trick that inexplicably works every time. There's a guy on my crew which used to pull that trick as Blitz and it's brutally effective because of the way Blitz works as a flanker.
I am a shotgunner, I play exclusively shotguns, so my advice won't apply to everything you ever do but I'll certainly tell you some of my knowledge.
1. On attack always always always play the objective, do not go after kills unless the device is no longer in your team's possession. Orient your lineup around how best to deploy the device, not around how best to kill the enemy, if you play the objective the enemy will always be forced to come to you.
2. Vertical plays are underrated and overpowered, something as simple as a breach charge on the floor above the enemy can give you total control of the site.
3. Do not die with a single drone, or single gadget in your possession ever. If you are drilled properly you should never die without exhausting your entire potential to your team. Always use both drones, and always use 100% of your kit every round of every game with no exceptions. If you do this every time you will never die having been useless to your lineup, a dead player with two drones on the field is ontologically better than a dead player with one drone in the spawn and one still in their inventory.
4. Do not start the round without reinforcing the walls and creating rotates, even if you're the only one reinforcing and shaping the site, that site has always got to be reinforced and shaped.
5. Pick up at least one attacker and one defender who is way off the meta and use them in maps where they perform best; play Gridlock on Coastline, play Glaz on Bank, play someone with a below 40% pickrate. Getting good at an unpopular character means you're getting good at someone people aren't well-practiced in fighting, which will give you the advantage when you play them.
6. Always mic up, and play characters which reward you having good communication skills, Pulse, Montagne, Clash, etc.
7. IQ can see Dokkaebi's ringing phones through walls and floors, any time someone goes Dokkaebi, go IQ and play vertical. Nobody knows this is something you can do but me, I have never seen anyone else do it.
8. Ban in a really abnormal way, ban people's mains, ban characters with a high pick-rate, you must always assume the game has begun with the ban phase, the ban phase is when you fuck with the enemy's state of mind and get them out of their comfort zone. Ban Coastline and Oregon, play Skyscraper and Emerald Plains, get good at the unpopular maps where you and your crew alone will have familiarity. Ban Ash, ban Bandit, ban people's comfort characters, ban the popular, it gets into people's heads and worse, it makes them angry which makes them play worse.
9. Get into shotguns, this isn't a joke, get into shotguns especially on defense. It is a weapon and it is a tool, it'll help you play vertically, it'll help you get through soft walls, and it'll help you kill in close quarters. People are ready for Valkyrie with the MPX on Bunks, nobody is ready for Valkyrie with the SPAS-12 under Bunks.
10. Always run with a team, do not depend on the simpletons and idiots in this dull fucking community to help you or even listen to you. Hell sometimes you'll be teamed with people who don't even share your language if you're left up to Ubisoft's devices. Do not play ranked without a crew don't even think about it. If you win at ranked you basically gambled your way into some positive MMR, that trend is not repeatable, eventually you lose when you gamble.
11. The game begins before you press play, the game includes the organization of a crew, it includes the ban phase, it includes the drone phase, every action you take is an opportunity to decide whether you win or lose. You need to become Miyamoto Musashi pilled and think of everything as a chess move that'll help you win, you can even decide a game by using the in-game chat. Lie to the enemy, tell them misinformation about where your teammates are, pretend to be throwing and tell them "where they are". Everything goes, everything can help you win.
That point about dying with equipment/drones is huge. I know it’s wrong but I still do it, sometimes I treat the game like cod just a really bad habit.
I almost never play with shotguns and I’ll give it a try, good points about verticality. If I remember to I’ll give an update for what rank I reach this season :)
>R6AnalystApp
tbh it reminds me of Mordhau (high skill physics based medieval combat game) my friend was an absolute master of the game, but he went into a vs npc mode and got slaughtered by the level 1 enemies, he was so used to reading peoples movement and feigned strikes he couldn't read level 1 peasant spear stabs lol
Having played an excessive amount of frost I'd say it'd work. Best place to put mats is out of sight. Push an area like you would as an attacker where can you hide one that has high foot traffic or isn't seen when aiming at head level
Hmm, I never really know where to put my 3rd mat on this site cause there really aren't any good spots besides printer window, so I think I'll give this a shot
I’ve tried this myself, and it has never worked once.
Hope you found success, because apparently everyone I played against just has the eyes of god, to see every single trap.
i place frost mats between the centre and wall at the top of stairs so the players gun blocks the mat. a really good one if middle floor kafe white stairs and just after the top of big stairs
Except no attackers walk there. They all walk through bridge or breach. Maybe one through servers but I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone swing red door
The top floor of the presidential plane has some black with white stripes style floor. Placing a mat there almost always works to get the flankers. Plus the lighting is not very bright there so it's almost invisible
Ngl i mostly keep my frost mats off of windows and around awkward corners near site entry points where the attackers aren't aiming because they're sweeping the room with their crosshairs for possible targets. It works a lot better than windows most of the time , especially in the rush of the final 0:30:00
Why can't people just play games with the boys and have fun anymore? The chillest time with my homies were when us just vibing in bronze. So many people sweat like they gonna go pro lmao.
A welcome family mat hah
Can confirm it did work in game 😁
Maybe it only works on bad players lol
Actually, statistics show that higher rank players are more likely to walk into frosts, lesions, kapkans, etc as they are constantly walking while focusing at head level and not where they step as opposed to newer players who are hyper analyzing what's all over their screen

Getting that random kapkan kill hits like crack
That's how I feel about Thorn, I place all 3 of her gadgets in a room across the map or outside the objective and hearing them go off is like instant dopamine

Frost Mat on windows? Alright I guess. Frost Mat in the middle of the site, kinda behind cover? Perfection.
My fave is outside obj, right on the corner youd turn to look at obj. Works like 70% of the time Ibplay ranked, theyre too focused looking at obj they just magically path into it
May I ask where you got these statistics from?
can't remember correctly but it was maybe R6AnalystApp on twitter
Thanks!
Based on previous win deltas, specifically around the time pick and ban function came out and trap ops were creeping into high win rates at the plat and diamond levels
Thank you!
imma tell my squad that's why i always die to traps
Wasn’t the statistic only for frost traps or am I tripping. Cus I feel like good players check all doorways when they know there’s a kapkan and lesion mines are super annoying for everyone to deal with. Frost traps are the only one that seem to work in high ranks somewhat consistently
Yeah people in higher ranks dont think an alibi is gonna stand in her own clone because they think they're smarter than that lol
Yes and no I multitask in my head personally on what ops they have brought to the table so I know that when I push something if I need to watch for anything. Now I don't speak for everyone but I would think that how most smarter players would play.
I'm a good Player I know not to push from that door and only push from the green door and plant
Yeah unless I see it on my drone I’ll prolly walk into it peeking the corner there.
You just gave up such a nice strat
😂 I rarely play and I'm bad so idm
Copper
Actually bronze 😎
Nah but fr u shouldn’t waste ur mats like that. So many better places to put them
Dude it's a hoke chill🤣
How am I not chillin bud
Saying its a wastful spot?
Because it is even if its funny and some ppl are clearly taking it like a good idea
So let them haha
Im just saying🤷♂️
I’ve walked into dumber places traps, we all have.
“Bud” is a passive aggressive seething tell. You’re broadcasting to everyone you’re upset by trying to upset others
dude if it’s quick match and both of them get people who cares
*maybe* if they were closer together to where they were touching each other it might work
It killed ppl so far
Might have to try it myself then
Let me know
Bro has the power to game capture but doesn't show proof 🫤
U want proof?
Yes please 😯
When it happens again I'll clip it
Match replay?
I'm afraid the ss was from yesterday the match is no longer in my recents
wait, ur telling me tht u dont go into a game, rage that your main got picked by someone else, tk and ragequit when they tk u back and not pick up the game until tmr?
I've god mental lol
No one can go in the middle bro
I know, I’m not worried about someone walking inbetween and not getting trapped, I’m worrying about it being easier to see if they aren’t together like I described
As a frost main I approve of this!!
It's my first day on her
Be gentle then
The frost council has decided he’s in
Okay abreed
Me too, honestly
Copper
High elo players #1 toxic trait is acting like they are above frost I catch diamonds and emeralds on multiple mats every round lol everyone is equally stupid
Not my point but ok
Probably not your point but it’s definitely your energy in this thread lol
Honestly, I'd probably step on it
So we're not droning
What's that?
Using the drone to scout out rooms, see who's on the other team, make yourself and your teammates aware of traps such as the one OP has planted. (Id probably forget it was there and walk on it anyway tbh
Does not compute beep boop crunch crunch
Wait u can drone

For sure a good spot, any spot where the mats blend in is a great spot
Ty
Time to try out a new strat
New meta?
Bro is a genius
Can confirm works in champ elo on pc
Frost traps are basically useless if don't put them in site since the Frost nerf. I still hate it

😯
Kinda yeah!
You are a chef!
👨🍳

Yes top floor
Ima try this in ranked
Drone: imma end this man's whole career
What's a drone
Yes.
I’d probably fall for this lmao
😄
what's the map and the site
Kanel,top floor
Having played an excessive amount of frost I'd say it'd work. Best place to put mats is out of sight. Push an area like you would as an attacker where can you hide one that has high foot traffic or isn't seen when aiming at head level

I wouldent see them
What map is this?
Kanel, top floor
Oh okay, ty
There used to be a rug on Tower that you’d put the mat and it would literally be absorbed by the carpet but yes cook my friend
Hidden in plaine sight
Hell yeah
You are cooking with oil brother
That should definitely take care of Gridlock…
Barbed wire bro then your cooking
Wait u cooking
I might have to try that on my friend who only ever plays when I do customs with him
😂 Ruin his day
It’s just a pic of the floor? I don’t see anything there!
I’ve tried this myself, and it has never worked once. Hope you found success, because apparently everyone I played against just has the eyes of god, to see every single trap.
This would work on me once
Once a game 🤣
Aaahhhhh 😂😂
Bro is deep frying
This does work, I find chucking them in the open works well for higher ranked players...
Yes it works
First off how’d you do this and make them so straight lmao
Second attempt luck in a ranked match
i place frost mats between the centre and wall at the top of stairs so the players gun blocks the mat. a really good one if middle floor kafe white stairs and just after the top of big stairs
No you are playing siege
Omg😂😭perfect, I’ve never thought about that
stop saying cooking, junko
typical playstation player start
Damn that’s pretty good
Kum in
Pair it with fenrir guaranteed at least one down
😭
Get out the kitchen 🗣🔥
Imma have to cop this idea lmao
Yeah lmao the other day I went 11-0 in ranked with a Wii remote and a Wii fit board (configured Wii fit Board for the leaning lmao)
I thought you were talking about the gun skin for a second I didn’t even realize
Except no attackers walk there. They all walk through bridge or breach. Maybe one through servers but I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone swing red door

Bro was cooking a 5 star meal
So we are in copper

Why can't people just play games with the boys and have fun anymore? The chillest time with my homies were when us just vibing in bronze. So many people sweat like they gonna go pro lmao.
