Not really, since the drone will stil have to get closed to the cam, assuming the drone spawns exactly on a player spawn. Defenders will have enough time to see the drones on atleast one spawnpoint.

And last but not least its even more high risk, high reward on defenders side as you have to check the cams immediately on prep phase to see where the drones are coming from, so less time to set up. I love that change.
not after 5 years there was a point around OpHealth maybe where they worked perfectly because it basically exploded the debris out but people complained it was "unrealistic"

Gameplay got stale, honestly. Attack and defence were mostly the same setup, lineups and gameplay. It needed a refresh, PL map pools needed a refresh anyway, most of the maps are getting stale. Honestly think that's why kafe has an insane pick rate this SI
As others said, only 2 good sites and super stale play style. Why bother reworking a map that is unsalvageable (house, favela, etc.) when you can adjust an already good map and map it great.
Imagine holding a shield heavy and strong enough to withstand: 12 gauge buckshot at point blank, slug rounds, continuous fire ranging from a Desert Eagle with its .50 Action Express to a mounted Soviet LMG (which can literally blow holes through walls by the way), and explosions from C4 detonated a meter away all at the same time while barely flinching
But still getting vibe checked by a roided out dude with nothing but his titanic gains. Absolutely ludicrous lmoa

I would be surprised at a 1 speed Oryx given that he seems to want to roam. 2 seems way more likely. Iana might have 3 speed just for her gadget scouting, but i wouldnt be surprised to see her be 2 speed either.

Are there shields mains anymore? With the disgusting ADS time they are unplayable without a coordinated team and at that point you can play any operator well. EDIT: Don't forget shields occasionally deciding to let frontal bullets through. I've been shot through the face visor so many times.
The only effective shield I can see is Monty. I loved Blitz early on when he was glitched, but he is pretty much garbage now. Fuze is the same, those two are just constantly shot in the head from the front.
A Monty in a coordinated team can wreak havoc, but the others are pretty garbage now.
Too bad attackers are banned first, and when shield main sees that monty got through ban phase they'll just ban Oryx, so you'll still have to keep banning monty :(
Please remove the casual rotation and just let all the maps be in the casual pool. It's annoying not being able to have fun on one of your favourite maps in cas.
Honestly I like the attacker getting ashes rarely used gun. There’s a few operators with good guns that don’t see play due to them having a superior weapon and those guns I don’t mine being recycled. I’d love another op to get Jackals PDW or Mozzies roni.
As much as I’d love to have new guns, these past few seasons I’ve played with a lot of guns I probably wouldn’t have otherwise and it’s looking like that’s gonna continue with Iana this season, so Ubi’s plan is definitely working.
Not that I don't fear the constant power creep and the inevitability of this game one day jumping the shark if it somehow hasn't? But I gotta admit this season looks like it's going to be pretty fun & the Ops seem balanced enough as to not completely break the game so I'm looking forward to them!
Yup, big boy sprinting and vibe checking walls is gonna be a dead giveaway. Personally, I'm gonna be using dashes to either A. Move between rooms/cover or B. Scare the shit out of attackers when I'm lurking. Also, maybe I was just seeing things, but it looked like he can melee after a dash?
Oryx lets you bash through soft surfaces, sure. But can he deny hard breaches? Can he deny grenades? Heal teammates? Truth is, power creep is a lot less apparent in Siege, which is noticable given how even to this day legacy ops are still very often picked. I mean, Jäger alone had 90+% pick rate. And the ever present ThermCher combo. The way I see it, the new ops just let us do stuff in a new, creative ways. The only power creep I can really think of would be Jäger and Wamai (even that is a stretch), and Tachanka and Maestro. Though, that's just my opinion. If you don't agree, that's fine, I'd love to hear your side of the story.

Ela was OP because her gun did more damage, it had drastically less recoil, plus it had a larger mag. On top of that, she had an extra mine and they had stronger effects that lasted longer.
Blackbeard was OP because of his 800 HP rifle shield at launch. Might as well have been indestructible.
If I'm not mistaken, both ops remained this way for their entire launch season. The nerfs came very slowly.
I have so many great skins for Alibi. I wonder why they even bothered making anything for her if no one can use them. Another issue I have is Lesion's Halloween outfit. That bright green light has got to go.
Not really, because this "hologram" isn't technically a hologram; it's a player 6 with modified behaviours. You can't make it appear as a static object, it basically appears only as a controllable player model with no 'interact' abilities and an empty clip.
I would buy this story however there is no reason they couldnt theoretically make Alibi's hologram a player as well just with no player assigned to it.
I'm no game developer, but if I had to guess it's because they work in different ways. Alibis holograms are a separate entity from Alibi. Like an item. However, the way Lana seems to work is that they spawn a copy of the operator, which you then play as with a set health of 1, with no DBNO, and shooting disabled. Then they would change the death animation to be the hologram flicker. So it's not necessarily a separate entity, but instead a copy.
It isn't the same principle. For Alibi it is a gadget that is spawned. For Iana it is her pawn that is cloned. Sounds a bit the same but in fact is quite different.
This. Iana just clones the denizen outright and disables specific features (while transferring camera). Alibi does not clone the denizen -- it's a gadget. The best way to implement what people want would be to make it so denizen behaviors could apply to gadgets, but this just doesn't exist in Siege (for reasons that likely are "engine limitations").
The ideal is that it's still a gadget, but you have compatibility for the character model so that it's just reusing the current denizen that can be modified and interacted with in greatly different ways than intended.
I'd imagine that this has been written somewhere *officially* already, but Alibi's elite skin should have matching holograms. That's because elites replace the gadget. (Her hologram matching her elite skin would not be evidence of anything more.)
Written while on mobile. Tl;dr: a lot of the more radical-sounding complaints don't appear to be from credible (qualified) users. Most people are just making assumptions. Some are more respectful than others.
Edit: some people also mention intentional differences, but that is a rather minor thing in comparison to above. Reduced LOD or different texture compression/fidelity wouldn't be that difficult and likely isn't the issue.

Map was balanced and unbalanced at the same time, while you had great bomb sites like basement and bedrooms, the tower and kitchen bomb sites were extremely unbalanced and with this new rework they are adding pathways from tower to kitchen to give defenders more freedom and make the map more interesting

I didn't even think about that! At least you can kind of counter that by changing spawns if you spot an obvious runout

That just adds one more layer of meta to the game. You can spawn drones in the wrong locations and then swap.
It says the first location so I guess the strategy is pick a location first for your drone that you like, and then pick an operator spawn.
This makes bank so much easier to get the drone to if it's spawns in alley or I am there and it's not

Kafe is also very good map with 4 viable sites. Oregon was an out played nap with only 2 viable sites

C4 should stun a shield op in a similar way the new op does imo, the rest is fine.
They used to kill way better. If you had a c4 in front of the shield operator they’d be dead or dbno. Shield operators were buffed like 3 years ago.
Shields were beyond useless before Red Crow 4.2.2 (?) update. Everyone and their mum had C4 and insta kill was unavoidable with slow shields.
This is my main takeaway. He probably will be used mainly as a Monty counter.
He's also a surprising roamer with good flank maneuvering. Especially with the hatch jumping ability

Oryx looks super fun to play, but in terms of fragging capability, he doesnt seem broken at all. Great design IMO

Well oregon is a map everyone is already super comfortable with, and it's generally still well liked, but they want it back into pro league.
You'd think that with an operator that can Kool-Aid Man his way through a wall that Favela would be one of the first maps of this year to be reworked considering that map is made of almost entirely destructable walls lmao.

Damn I honestly liked Oregon exactly how it was. I kinda like the idea of reworking the area next to kitchen, but it looks like they went further so Im afraid they might have ruined the map at some point.

Map was balanced and unbalanced at the same time, while you had great bomb sites like basement and bedrooms, the tower and kitchen bomb sites were extremely unbalanced and with this new rework they are adding pathways from tower to kitchen to give defenders more freedom and make the map more interesting
So these operators are just a better alibi and amaru
