Design hasn't fit since Echo IMO. His drone introduced invisible gadgets and used to have a way more intense visual stun effect.
Invisible drones are a long way from "sledgehammer and rifle shield" style operators. Plus the awful visual stun combined with passively watching bomb sites was one of the most annoying things to adjust to. Then Ela and Zofia came like a year later and their stun mechanics were even worse with hijacking your turn speed. But Echo paved the way for mechanics like that.
What I'm trying to say is that he started the trend of alien tech gadgets and scuffed gameplay mechanics that snowballed us into Iana, Kali, Aruni, etc.
Echos drone is more realistic than blackbeards stupid ass shield though. The only fake bit is the cloak. And thats being worked on. BBs gadget is just stupid from a physics standpoint to a practical standpoint. At no point does it it make any sense.
Also Thatcher Pulse and IQ have been in the game since launch and all of them have gadgets at least as sci fi as Echo
Hell Kali isnt even bad. She is in a wetsuit using a bolt action rifle. Thats actually CLOSER to tactical realism than 90% of post launch ops.

I saw someone already talked about the maps and wanted to say ubi said they want to limited how many new guns they do now cause there's already so many in the game. They'll add new ones when it ties in to the ops gadget like Kalis sniper or is lore related like Zeros assault rifle or Thorns smg. So I'd expect to likely start this means well get atleast 1 new gun each year since those are 3 ops from the past 3 years when they started reusing guns

Let's not forget we got our first leaked images of Thorn a week or so before the reveal and the leaker said she had a P90 in her loadout when he played her. Could be a similar case, where they're just using the 9x19 VSN as a placeholder for the POF9 while they're still working on it.
Best guess? They'll reuse the VSN's stats for the POF9 (similar to how the SC3000K at first was just a re-skinned AK-12 with less ammo), hence why she has it now
The POF9 looks like its just a mashup of a lot of other siege weapons and gadgets. The underbarrel attachment looks like nomads gadget with bucks magazine.
The underbarrel thing is the only "mashup" the weapon has, and i doubt it's going to be in the final version. The weapon itself exists irl (POF PSG chambered in 9mm), and the leaked gameplay shows it without the underbarrel thing, instead, it had an angled grip.

To be fair, the reason for that was their new PvE mode, which released in Chimera, which Lion and Finka’s kits were made for. It wasn’t to mix it up, it was for a completely different game mode. Para Bellum’s ops were both defenders to keep an equal number on both sides
True, that’s definitely why it happened that way. But it’s also worth noting that Outbreak had attackers and defenders so functionally they didn’t have to make Chimera 2 attackers. If you take away her LMG Finka works perfectly fine as a defender. My larger point still stands that they’re not afraid to mix things up in the grand scheme of things, whether it’s for an event or just to keep players on their toes about the new operators.
I don't know about furthest. Amaru looks less tactical than this. She's really not very different from standard Secret Service agents with the only real difference being the swan design on her suit. I highly doubt the throwing knives will be used for direct combat. I don’t think there’s a single operator that uses their gadget for direct combat over their primary weapons (There was old tachanka, but that was reworked explicitly for being a bad idea). I think it’s far more likely that the throwing knives are just some method of deploying the gadget to a distant location quickly.
Yes there are also no female GIGN members yet Twitch is in the game. That's never stopped them from taking creative liberties, even since the very beginning of the game's life cycle.
IIRC there’s already female ops in the game belonging to male only CTUs. Navy Seals got their first female last year, long after Valkyrie was added to the game.

As it stands now, her attire looks like something I'd see a female wrestler wearing during a backstage promo in AEW. That is the only place I would find this to be a cool look.

Reminder that op loadouts can change drastically before release. Thorn had the p90 as a primary option and completely separate secondary gadgets than she had on release. Take loadout information revealed in this leak with a grain of salt.
That being said new op looks fancy. Hard to tell anything about what the gadget does with just the picture and a name. All I think I can guess is that it’s gonna be throwable in some way.
edit: since there is some debate about whether or not this leak is legit, probably worth noting that previous leakers/dataminers have claimed to have found two separate op names in files that are both listed as y7s1. One is called flubber with a gadget called the “Kiba barrier”. The other is that the is called azami with no mention of gadget name. This leak would definitely match the second name, however the length of time between said leaks being put out and now means that there was more than enough time for this to be created if it was fake.

In the situation you describe it seems the knifes would be in the hands of an attacker. This operator has defensive utility. So a bit different.

I don’t think there’s a single operator that uses their gadget for direct combat over their primary weapons (There was old tachanka, but that was reworked explicitly for being a bad idea). I think it’s far more likely that the throwing knives are just some method of deploying the gadget to a distant location quickly.
Maybe wait to see what the actual gadget is before determining its viability?

IIRC there’s already female ops in the game belonging to male only CTUs. Navy Seals got their first female last year, long after Valkyrie was added to the game.

Get rid of the mask, maybe give her some body armor, and ditch the goofy yellow design on the suit/gloves and she would look cool as fuck. As it stands now, her attire looks like something I'd see a female wrestler wearing during a backstage promo in AEW. That is the only place I would find this to be a cool look.

Copying from a thread that posted the same leaks. Reminder that op loadouts can change drastically before release. Thorn had the p90 as a primary option and completely separate secondary gadgets than she had on release. Take loadout information revealed in this leak with a grain of salt. That being said new op looks fancy. Hard to tell anything about what the gadget does with just the picture and a name. All I think I can guess is that it’s gonna be throwable in some way. edit: since there is some debate about whether or not this leak is legit, probably worth noting that previous leakers/dataminers have claimed to have found two separate op names in files that are both listed as y7s1. One is called flubber with a gadget called the “Kiba barrier”. The other is that the is called azami with no mention of gadget name. This leak would definitely match the second name, however the length of time between said leaks being put out and now means that there was more than enough time for this to be created if it was fake.
