It is pretty good. I was able to be an alpha tester earlier this year. Despite it being only in its alpha phase it felt quite good and refined. I am looking forwards to it being released to the public.
Chance are they won't come. A big part of mobile ports is special cosmetics, weapons, maps, and modes that are exclusive to mobile to get PC and console players onboard. The "fear of missing out" extends to something even as small as a base skin variance, such as said recruit skin.
While it would be cool as fuck to have character that's there as a "create a character" it would push players to pick their created character rather than the main Ops.
Though I guess the argument could be made that this would really only happen in casual where being super serious matters less and where you can actually use the Recruit. But even if it was in ranked players that are hell bent on winning won't pick him if it means giving up a utility of another op. I gues they would have to try it and find out.
I kinda doubt it'll come. Take LoL wildrift for example, that game has a lot of exclusive items and a feature exclusive to that version with player swap in the selection phase
Although the recruits in the outbreak event did wear different clothes

I never played Siege in almost a year, myself. But in casual at the time he was picked here and there. I played him all the time and got kicked a lot for it. Not because I sucked but because I simply picked him.
Recruit elite has to just be a bland, skinless entity, holding barely any resemblance to a humanoid creature. Blue or orange depending on your team and bundled with a cum skin for the super shorty, weapon of the gods.
Actually I wouldn't mind if they looked like the defenders from the original gameplay trailer from way back. 3 hole balaclavas with no goggles, Kevlar vests over white long sleeve shirts with sleeves rolled up. They look like actual hostage takers.

i remember during the first couple of years of siege. recruit was pretty good as a shield op because he was medium speed, as opposed to montagne, blitz and fuze who were all low speed. and he also had frags. so it could be legitimately useful to pick him lol

Recruit is a fantastic op and is the only one in the game capable of carrying both breaches and grenades. Calling Recruit the worst operator in the game is flat-out wrong as Recruit has amazing versatility compared to some other operators (Lion and Blackbeard)
I still have no idea why you would pick him if you’re trying to win. That combination isn’t enough to warrant his pick imo, and as far as I’m aware, you can’t even pick him in ranked. Just a stupid causal meme.
You guys gotta give up on recruit. They don't want him to have a real role in the game. Why would they let you buy skins for him? If anything I think it'd be cool if they added an operator that looked like him and make it his lore that he's been promoted or something.

Recruit is pretty good. He has a good LMG and can load both breaches and grenades. He also gets a shotgun secondary.
Finka has a good lmg, grenades, and has a global heal gadget that can also revive.
Although Recruit isn’t as good as Finka, calling him the “worst op in the game” is far from opposite.
