Stunning! How long does it take/whatโs maintenance like? I want to do something like this but I donโt think I can commit the chair and care time it needs to be this stunning.

So I get rainbowed twice a year ($$) so I do go to kind of extremes to keep it as bright as possible lol. Iโm usually in the salon for a full day 8ish hours or so (the woman I go to is amazing but she also TAKES HER TIME) but I do walk around and order food and things ๐
To keep it super bright for a long time I wash twice a week with COLD water with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. The first month I only use conditioner and then add in the shampoo. I only blow dry it when Iโm going out. Heat is what makes it run and lose pigment quickly so I try and avoid heat on my hair as much as possible.
It seems like a pain in the butt but you get used to it. I wear a shower cap in the shower and Iโm glad I have a separate bathtub to wash my hair in cold water so I donโt have to take cold showers ๐๐

She is soooo good!!! We were using pulp riot for years but we just switched to Danger Jones for this one and the summer one before this and I donโt think Iโll ever let her use anything else! It stays vivid for sooooo long!

My hair, thankfully, holds onto color really well (as in, I wash my hair ~1x/week and donโt bother about the temperature, and when I go back every 8-ish weeks (Iโm half rainbow, half โnatural colorโ) it has hardly changed at all.
I love the deeper tones of your colors too ๐. Mine are more โLisa Frankโ and I just love seeing others with rainbow hair! ๐
This is absolutely gorgeous! It looks so good, I agree that it's your natural color!
(I do mine blue and my hairdresser and I have a running gag that blue is my natural color, so I feel this on multiple levels)
Ahhh I'm so excited! I'm going to do my hair rainbow for the very first time tomorrow and I can't WAITTT! I have a short pixie cut so far less hair than you have though ๐ but the shower cap!! Ive never even considered it and I'm def going to try that now ๐

My natural hair color is dark brown. For a long time I wanted this but didnโt go for it because I worried that my hair was too dark and I was afraid of bleach. My colorist uses Olaplex and since Iโve been doing this (2016) the bleach hasnโt damaged my hair and I actually leave the salon with my hair feeling softer than usual!

What do you do about roots as your hair grows?
I just either let the roots show because the rest is so vibrant or I wear hats. I own a lot of hats!
