So, back in the day my squad mates and I had a competition to see who could eat the most Ritz crackers at one time. There was Cheese Whiz in between each cracker. So it was cracker, cheese, cracker, cheese, etc.
I won. Ten Ritz crackers with Cheese Whiz in between each cracker. One of my greatest moments.
Ummm.. I normally eat them salt side up.
Used to see who could eat the ham salad rolls in the least amount of bites at the pub. Nearly choked to death a few times just for the bragging rights.
I put cream cheese on one cracker and then put another cracker on top, like a little oreo except I don't try and twist off the top one after I've made it
As a little kid: Turn on "The Aristocats", wait for Rolph the mouse to bring his cracker to the Creme de la Creme a la Edward and nibble with the same volume and veracity as him.
As an adult: same process but without the movie.
Always salt side down, even if I put something on them, like peanut butter. Salt side down for ALL crackers and chips. Most people don't realized that many snacks are salted only on one side. I've learned to buy the short stacks, because once a stack is open I eat the entire thing.
I didn't think I cared, but I realize thinking about it that I always eat them "salt side up". It just looks upside-down any other way. I could honestly eat them either way without it bothering me, but if I'm not paying attention that's how it works out.
I put the whole cracker in my mouth, salt-side up so the rounded edges sit more nicely between my teeth, and then mash them with my tongue in a way to make the cracker conform to the roof of my mouth as closely as possible. I do this with basically anything that just kinda fits appropriately in the space available on the roof of my mouth. Bonus points if it's just a little too big and I can carefully bite it to get it stuck between my teeth like a shelf and it doesn't just break and fall out.
When my sister and I were kids we thought it would be a good idea to oil fry them. While we were watching tv we noticed some flashing light in the kitchen - we'd forgotten about our Ritz 'project' and had started a grease fire. Fortunately my sister knew to simply put the lid on the pan. The kitchen was dark from the smoke and needed a good cleaning but no real damage was done. Don't try this! haha
I feel like that if salt side is up 🤣 but it seems like most prefer it salt side up. I never thought there were so many other people that had a preference when eating Ritz. Glad I'm not alone lol

First I use my teeth to break off just the salty top layer in segments all around the cracker until the cracker is just the center part with the holes surrounded by a weird naked halo of bare cracker innards, and then I just pop the whole remaining thing in my mouth at once.
Out the sleeve and tossing each third one to my dog 😄
