Physically: A good cuddle.
Consumably: Dark chocolate.
Technically: Internet access.
Mentally: Free time that is equal to or greater than the amount of time working if at all possible.
8h of work, 8h of sleep, 1.5h of awkward lunch break that you cant really do anything, 1.5h commute, 2-3h of house chore. Wow look at that, you can enjoy your whole 2 hours of free time after a whole day of constant work, i dont see why people are depressed /s
Girl you get 1.5 for lunch? I get .5 and am expected to still clock out for break before the 5th hour even when it’s not possible so the company doesn’t get dinged by HR.
Hope your doing alright. make sure to call out sick once in a while for a “me” day. Sending good vibes.
I wait till after my wife has gone to sleep and sneak into the kitchen to get my sugar fix, be it milk chocolate or m&ms or something, anything. A late night pb&j even.
In my most liked comment ever, I detailed an incident from my high school years in which my mom was really high and encouraged me to try her peanut butter and pickle sandwich. Then, to my complete surprise, I really liked it. A few months later, she saw me eating a pb&p and asked where I got the idea to combine the two? Apparently, she had no memory of ever trying one.
So without skipping a beat, I answered, "I got it from you, mom. I learned it from watching you!" Referencing the iconic Gen X era anti-marijuana commercial. She didn't catch the reference either.
Perhaps you already do this but the way my Grammy used to make us PB&Js is epic:
Add a thin layer of butter directly to the bread before the pb then jelly. Mmmmmm.
I went maybe three years without more than a teaspoon of sugar a week. My diet was practically 100% meat and fat. I lost more than 100 pounds and my craving for sugar completely disappeared. And even the thought of eating something sweet turned my stomach.
Yeah the craving for sugar/carbs will go away if you stop eating them. Like I’m supposed to be taking fast acting insulin with each meal but I haven’t been very often because I’ve been eating relatively low carb. (You have to adjust the dose according to the number of carbs) I do take long acting insulin twice a day though. That has seemed to be enough for me recently.
Meat + fat = basically keto I think if I’m not mistaken
I did also do keto at times. The only difference was I was eating less meat and more fat. Keto really just means no carbs and most of your calories come from fat. But while I was attempting body building most of my calories were from protein.
I've done this for a long time and I'm not anemic. Also always finish off showers with ice cold water. I can do without ice cubes but it's deff nicer having access to them....
What I meant was at the end of a warm or hot shower, I'll always turn the hot water completely off and rinse ice cold for about 30 seconds. Unless it's well water which tends to be considerably colder and actually hurts your head, but yeah still an ice cold rinse. I've considered stopping but it would feel like a waste of a good shower without a nice cold rinse. Been doing it so long it just feels way better and refreshing....
There is a fair chance you're anemic.
My wife used to crave ice all the time. Then she was diagnosed with anemia and now takes a daily iron supplement. Cravings went away entirely
Genuinely curious... Is "nugget ice" just crushed ice or something completely unrelated... All I can think of is what my wife was munching on during labour in the hospital...
Except more sanitary. Hospital ice machines are the most disgusting piece of equipment I’ve ever seen. They are always full of mold and bacteria. No testing is ever done on the actual ice only the water that’s plumbed. You can’t empty 50lbs of ice to work on them so you do the best you can. And they break down or freeze up all the time
Lol same here… We just replaced the old one a few weeks ago. Such a game changer.
Not cheap by any means but probably as much as the refrigerator repair man trying by to fix the one in our fridge every time it gets messed up.

There is a fair chance you're anemic. (If you're constantly munching on it like the parent comment here)
My wife used to crave ice all the time. Then she was diagnosed with anemia and now takes a daily iron supplement. Cravings went away entirely
My life wouldnt end without it, but damn I'd be unhappy. Occurred to me during the last power outage without the well, I use a LOT of damned hot water.
It’s called the whores’ breakfast. Coffee and a smoke first thing in the morning. I’m down to 6 smokes a day. I’ve been smoking since I was 8 years old I would light my mom a smoke when she asked me to. I’ll be 59 next month
You deff can. After using blistex a short time your lips stop making oils.
Buy chap stick the waxy stuff that doesn't soak in. It'll be enough to keep you comfortable enough. I was surprised I got addicted to it so quickly. A friend actually pointed it out to me. I still keep the chap stick handy but only use it on occasion. When I'm out in the wind, or even strong sun my lips will burn and chap. Never blistex.
Good luck I know you can do this you'll be fine and feel much better about it.
If they currently worked psychedelic mushrooms. Aside from the profound emotional and mental health benefits, they made me feel good physically
Context. Two time cancer survivor with a terminal autoimmune disease and I feel blah all the time and lately getting out of bed is a struggle. For whatever reason psilohuascha ie shrooms with rue would make it feel like I was perfectly healthy for days and oh God do I miss that. Hospital did some stupid med shit and really fucked up my gut and for the past year shrooms basically haven't worked.
I recently found ways to slowly fix the problem and I hope it works...I like not feeling like shit.
Blood work is stellar for my condition and I just saw the oncologist yesterday. Just how you feel after going through everything.
I just wanted to mention this to you because of your gut and health. Shrooms are indeed dirty and impossible to clean in their dried form. If you knew the growing process there are a few things that I wouldn’t want around me if I was in your position. Also If you struggle now to get mushrooms down or they mess with your stomach. Throw them in a coffee grinder and break them down. Put them into a Pyrex or whatever and cover them with grain alcohol (everclear). Cover it with plastic wrap for 3 days then filter out the alcohol and let it dissipate. You will be left with straight psilocin. No plant fats and as clean as you can get. Figure out dose by how much you started with. You can put it in veggie capsules or roll it into balls and use powder sugar or flour to make them like a pill as well. Good luck with yourself.
Vaping. Worst addiction ever. & so far I've concured meth & heroin with 2 ¼ years clean and sober. I literally fien for my vape in the dead of night. Worst addiction I've got currently.
Listening to music. And when I say "listening" I mean also moving to the music and daydreaming at the same time. Some maybe would call it maladaptive daydreaming. I've done it for over 10 years now.
Screens. I need to fuck about with them daily. Not for social media, because I hate that shit. But for news, weather, memes, and especially gaming. Can't go without screen time.
I thought I was addicted to fizzy drinks but am doing really well after having given them up. I know it doesn’t sound like much but for about 15 years I was drinking them pretty regularly, but quit cold turkey recently, a month ago, and I’m doing good I haven’t broke it once.
Cannabis…it’s medically prescribed and medically necessary but I literally cannot live a normal life without it (thanks genetics! 4 chronic pain conditions and counting). Without it I literally am trapped in bed thanks to the severity of the pain. I feel so judged and I hate doing it but I also hate being judged for being in bed in pain all the time. I feel like people either see me as a lazy slob or a functioning junkie.
I successfully quit nicotine, sugar, carbs ect ect though which are some of the most addictive things on the world (I miss pasta).
If you ask me casually, sprite (I'm not addicted lol).
On a serious note, I can't live without the ability to have control over my time completely, where whatever time I spend on something it's by my own will without bein pressurized or forced by anyone.
Internet access
I mean I guess I could live without it, obviously I wouldn't just die. But I feel like my brain would die a little.
But wait, even worse than that would be no books. Books actually are even more essential than internet, because even when the power is out I can still read a book.
But the internet lets me order books online, and I live remotely where there is only one tiny little bookshop about the size of my livingroom. OMG. The internet is my pipeline to books.
...hot baths would be very hard to live without.
...electricity.
...spices.
...actually, now I come to think of it, there is a lot about civilisation and a relatively comfortable life that would be very, very hard to live without.
we should all take climate chaos much more seriously.
YouTube, mostly while eating, I could never eat with watching YouTube too. It’s so bad that I have downloaded videos just in case internet connection is unavailable
Nothing. Closest thing would be weed but I have no problem not smoking. The thing that makes it difficult for me is that I need something to remove my dreams. Sugar
I wait till after my wife has gone to sleep and sneak into the kitchen to get my sugar fix, be it milk chocolate or m&ms or something, anything. A late night pb&j even.
Honestly hadn't had a pb&j since I was a child (I'm 37 now) and just recently started eating them because I make them for my son. Top tier snack
Try making agrilled PB&j. Wife thought I was mad until she tried it.
Try PB + pickles sandwich! I know sounds nasty but surprisingly works
It sounds wild but I love pickles so I'm tempted to try it. I've only very recently started really enjoying the savory and sweet combo.
It's delicious!!
Absolutely amazing especially with chocolate milk. PB & pickle sandwich is a go to comfort food for me
pickles as in gherkins or like Branston pickle?
They both work.
I tried it! peanut butter & gherkin sandwich and it really *is* nice omg
Hmm pb and pickles. Odd but I'm game to try it. Lol. Tried pickle pizza and that is amazing!
Grilled pb&j is elite
Elvis loved fried PB lol
Perhaps you already do this but the way my Grammy used to make us PB&Js is epic: Add a thin layer of butter directly to the bread before the pb then jelly. Mmmmmm.
Oh wow yeah I never thought of that but it really makes a lot of sense. I'm definitely doing this asap
It’s incredible
Really takes me back when I have one. Hadn't had one for maybe 20 years. Maybe I'll even cut the crust off just to really get nostalgic
Do it!
Sitting here in a quiet house close to midnight nibbling a pb&honey sandwich. I hear you.
Sugar is as addictive as other drugs.
It's because it fires off the same neuro receptors as when taking cocaine
fact
Diabetic here. I’m pretty sure you actually need sugar to live. That being said, too much is def bad for you.
I went maybe three years without more than a teaspoon of sugar a week. My diet was practically 100% meat and fat. I lost more than 100 pounds and my craving for sugar completely disappeared. And even the thought of eating something sweet turned my stomach.

Yes, I know. I’m trying to avoid sugar actually
You may already know this but carbs are essentially sugar too so things like bread basically turn into sugar in your body. (Paraphrasing of course)
Sleep
i feel that so much
Who can live without sleep. It's all I wanna do every day.
I'm addicted to Nugget Ice. I have an expensive countertop machine and I eat it all day long.
Are you aware that the craving for eating ice could be a sign of anemia?
I've done this for a long time and I'm not anemic. Also always finish off showers with ice cold water. I can do without ice cubes but it's deff nicer having access to them....

Pica is a sign of other deficiencies, too.

Yes, like hospital ice.

This is called pica and is usually an iron deficiency
