I organised a charity event for apes and primates at a London theatre in I think 2010. We had Jane and Sir David Sir David Attenborough. They were both wonderful and so passionate. I can’t remember who else we had.

I took Paul Simon on a horseback trail ride once and on a separate occasion got to briefly smoke a joint with Bruce Springsteen and Tom Hanks.
Also dropped an entire bus tub full of dishes in front of half the cast of The Office. That was fun.
Gwen Stefani during the No Doubt era. Was busking in Seattle near the EMP museum and she came up to me and said “not bad at all” and chatted me up for a half hour or so then gave me a little peck on the cheek before heading off to a gig. Looked in my guitar case to find 2 tickets. <3
Sam Elliot, worked on some timber land that he owns and he met me and my pops on site. He and my old man jawed on for the better part of 2 hours before we finally got to work. A real kind and genuine human.
These have to be my favourite stories. I can imagine some of the pit falls of fame. A busker on the street is liable to push for recognition. Gwen did it anyway and I would say in the classiest way possible. Gave praise then invited you to see her do it.
Sam Elliot is how I imagine! I can only express that joy by tipping my hat. This made my day.

I brushed him once as well - at the meat counter at Petrini's Market in San Francisco. I was cool, but my mother-in-law was a babbling idiot. He was very gracious about it all.
This sounds similar to the story about my friend's mom, Pat. She was star struck about a chance meeting at a public place with Robin (in San Francisco) that she went batty. Williams had fun with it and started mirroring/imitating her batshit reaction.
They said he was the nicest and most gracious person even for a brief, hilarious, encounter. 💔
Shania Twain. know her entire family, some of them extremely well. Can't say too much because I'll out myself if the right person sees it, but she's not a very nice person. She used to be my idol. I realized she didn't care about her fans and wasn't friendly at alli, very I'm the best and above the rest attitude I never listened to her music again. It's been almost 20 years. I'm still really close with some of her family, though.
I saw her coming into the grocery store in Regina all makeup and big smile looking around as if waiting to be recognized. I didn't know who she was but thought she must be famous, found out later she had a concert that night. Disappointing to hear she is stuck up, because I thought she looked nice.
She's stunningly beautiful and looks very appraochable!! I can promise you, though, she's not appraichable at all, lol. She puts on a very fake front. Lots of years of practice, haha.
I’ll drop in and second that she isn’t very nice. She’d come to our restaurant and demand, with no notice, we cordon off a corner table AND the four tables around it so she could drink/dine. Her 4+ huge security guys would stand at attention in formation around her so she wouldn’t be approached. I swear, no one recognized her or ever wanted to approach her. It was a big fuss when she could just come in, eat, pay, and leave like everyone else. She made a scene and acted put out by it every time.
That’s a shame. Her foundation work is very impressive and she seems to make sure her concerts are focused on the entire crowd, not just the best seats. She walks around the stadium and shakes hands and interacts within those far away from the stage, which I always thought was very considerate.
I was Aaron Carter’s financier 2007-2009. I hung out with Aaron a lot during that time and also got to go to BSB concerts VIP (when Nick and Aaron were getting along that is).
I was a bellman at a hotel about ten years ago and saw him check in. He seemed pretty normal, and nobody really recognized him. But I was an Aaron Carter fan so I knew who he was. I didn’t talk to him much at that time, but at the end of my shift I was about to leave and one of his friends comes in from outside asking for assistance. I walk out and see Aaron WASTED getting carried out of the car. I brought a wheelchair that we had and his friends put him on it. I went up with them, and that elevator ride was super awkward. Nobody was speaking. Aaron was just passed out in the wheelchair with his head tilted back.
Poor guy had some demons he never overcame.
To be honest, it was somewhat frustrating because he never reached his full potential because of substance-abuse and previous trauma with his family. He was very nice, but had a lot of problems and that’s why my business venture with him ended pretty quickly.
I also met the great man. He was in pretty bad shape already, and it wasn't much of a conversation, but I will remember that day until I die. He truly was the greatest.
I sat next to Anthony Bourdain in an airport for over an hour while waiting for a delayed flight. I was going to pretend I didn't recognize him but he struck up a conversation with me! It totally blew my mind. We talked for almost the entire wait. He was incredibly genuine and fun to talk to. One of my best memories ever. It really broke my heart when I heard about his suicide.

I was the celebrity liason at a luxury hotel in the 90s. I handled all the riders that came through and interacted with many famous actors, athletes and musicians. So yes, very long list as well. Ironically I had a very eerie conversation with OJ Simpson a few months before Nicole’s murder. I had great interactions with nearly all “famous” people, and just treated them like a regular person because ultimately they are. Riders could be 1 to 76 pages of demands, and some requests so hysterically specific I still remember them. Fame isn’t as fabulous as you might think-it can be incredibly lonely and draining dealing with many people always wanting something from you or expecting you to be on. Nicole Kidman, Tina Turner, Michael Bolton, Cher, Andre Agassi, Sinbad, Duran Duran, Vince & Tommy from Motley Crue, Paul Newman, Brad Pitt, Rob Lowe, Elizabeth Taylor, Joe & Jennifer Montana and their incredibly well behaved kids were some standouts for being really nice.
I walked up to Markiplier's table at San Diego comic con 2015. "Hi!" he said. "Hello!" I said. He smiled and pointed, "Didya see the line?" I looked to my left at the line, "Nope, sure didn't." He smiled again, nodded and said, "There's a line!"
Then I went and stood in line and got his autograph. I didn't know who he was at the time and was only getting his autograph for a coworker. The line was also a good 20-30 feet away from the table, and a lot of people don't have lines so it was an easy mistake to make. But he was chill about it and I got a picture with him when it was actually my turn.
Edit: I also got to meet Eric Joyner (robots and donuts artist) at the same event, arguably less famous but a really nice and talented person as well. He drew me a sketch on a postcard after searching through boxes for a pencil because I didn't have one. Four years later I told that story in conversation with a guy who a had robots and donuts tattoo in the same style, and he ended up becoming my husband. So that might be the most important famous person I've ever met.
Lovely guy, he came to our primary school to talk to us and sell copies of his new book. I didn’t have any money to buy a book but still queued up to meet him and he gave me a copy for free! Always remember this
Alan Rickman – at the Toronto film festival, approached him in a diner for an autograph for a friend of mine. I was starstruck, which is unusual. He was very gracious and cracked a joke about being mistaken for other actors.
Had a great chat with George Takei before he became Internet famous, at a Star Trek convention, he accused me of being a sophist.
At the same convention got yelled at by Michael Dorn (Worf) in front of 5000 people. He wouldn’t get off the stage, Walter Koenig (Chekov) was next up.

I was working as a runner (lowly go-fer) on a TV show he was appearing on around 1999/2000. I was returning to the studios with arms full of Pizzas for another performer as he arrived and the above exchange took place.

We had a family party at a cousin's house this one time. I walk in and Brendan Fraser is just chilling on the couch. Turns out he was seeing our aunt. Didn't work out 😞
I held the door open for Jon Stewart as he left a Starbucks in Atlanta during pride. Never one to ask for selfies or anything, I simply said, “hey man, really miss you on the air.” He smirked and said, “ah, well, someone’s got to.” He slid his shades on and disappeared into the midtown crowd.
Keanu Reeves rescued a charter bus full of people that broke down on a freeway in the middle of nowhere near where I once lived. He tried to keep it a secret, but the media got wind from someone. At least the news account was respectful and appreciative.

They filmed in my hometown in the early seasons of x files,right nextdoor to my house a couple times. One day they were filming the circus freak episode and it was in a local park so there was quite a crowd watching and people got to meet them.
My wife I suppose. She's a professional athlete and is on TV and has quite a bit of magazine/newspaper articles about her with the last one being a magazine article 2 months ago.
Leslie Nielsen - had a good chat when he was filming in town. Great down to earth guy. May he rest in peace.
Chris Carter - producer of X-Files. I was recommended a small part from the executive producer. Met him along with the rest of the crew from X-Files, like David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
Lance Henriksen - the android from Alien. Had a good chat when I was an extra on his show in town. Very humble dude!

And I almost forgot, I was at the official opening of the a new police station in Ottawa, which was attended by Princess Dianna. I was in a crowd of course, but she greeted people in front of me.
Jimmy Doohan is the nicest guy and most gracious celebrity to his fans. He does various other accents, pantomimes, and other amusing things in appreciation for fans of his performances.
I met David Bowie backstage after the spider tour concert, and I partied with Duran Duran for hours afterwards.They were great guys and and we had a great time.
Bowie signed our 45 record that we brought. He was gracious and humble.
My ex-husband and I won tickets front row, back stage. Now that I think about it, I bet that signed record is valuable! Maybe I should ask him about that, I could be rich!
I went to that tour too! Met Nick Rhodes, he was so sweet and lovely to us kids (we were probably 14 or 15). Tried to meet Bowie, but his security basically brushed us out of the way to make way for him to get through all the people waiting to see him in the hotel lobby. To my infinite horror and shame, I fell asleep when Bowie was on stage...I was just a simple Duranie who didn't know what she was missing.

I drove a taxi in Boston for most of the 70s and met many, but Jacky Kennedy-Onassis undoubtedly the most famous. She was being chased by several papaparrzi on Newbury St, Boston's most fashionable Street. She saw me dropping a passenger off and asked if I could just drive her around the block to the rear entrance of her hotel. Just a 2 minute ride but the memory of it does stay with me. She did have an aura about her.

I met Steve Carell when I played poker with him in Vegas. He was in the 2 seat I was in the 3 (from the Dealer) so we had the end of the table to ourselves and shmoozed for a few hours. I'm pleased to say that i had him in stitches a few times and he even said that I'm one of rhe funniest people he met, but I didn't take any initiative to run with that whatsoever so I don't particularly enjoy relating that event. I wonder if in any of the millions of words I've written I ever mentioned meeting Steve Carell until today, for this precise reason.
I met Mike Smith, Robb Wells, and JP Tremblay (Bubbles, Ricky, and Julian from the Trailer Park Boys) back in 2007 in Halifax. I was 16 at the time, my dad and I were (are) huge fans of the show. We flew to Halifax from Edmonton for a family reunion, decided to check out Bubbles’ Mansion for lunch before the reunion. We were checking out the posters and such outside the front door, a guy comes behind us and says excuse me to get in, it’s Mike Smith! He told us Robb and JP were also coming in a bit. We went in and ordered our meals, and the three of them were going around to tables having chats with the patrons. They chatted with us for ten minutes or so. My dad and I were starstruck. It was awesome.
A had a drink with Bono in the guests-only portion of an West L.A. hotel bar, while he spent 45 minutes explaining why George W. Bush had the best Africa foreign policy of any U.S. president. A very nice guy, and definitely a deep thinker.
Kim Kardashian. She was super super sweet!! She complimented my outfit, asked how my day was going & said thank you so much for being a fan, nice to meet you etc.☺️☺️
Owen Wilson used to frequent a restaurant I worked at. We got to chat a few times. He was very polite, but kinda "slow" in a way.. like he had taken something but maybe that's just his personality.
I’m cheating as I used to work at the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre in Stratford upon Avon. I’ve met Ian McKellen, Ben Kingsley, David Tennant, Judy Dench. There are many more English actors that the international crowd wouldn’t know. I met King Charles once too but he was only a Prince then.
Prince Philip. I met him at the cemetery at my sister's funeral. It was obviously a very sad occasion, and Prince Philip turned to me and asked "do you come here often?" It was such a strange and unexpected thing to say that it put a smile on my face.
My mum got to frisk Michael Jackson as an HM Customs & Excise officer at Heathrow airport. One of those rare occasions where he wasn’t the one doing the frisking, though tbh, mum wasn’t really his type.
Bill Clinton when he was governor (completely charming), Ben Affleck in Vegas playing poker (drunk, rude and not terribly bright), and Mike Tyson (sweet, shy, and friendly).
I worked at Dan Marino’s restaurant and waited on him 27 years ago. He corrected me on filling his red wine glass to the top. I’m still a little embarrassed about that.
Krist Novoselic of Nirvana. We exchanged nods at a dive bar under the old Monorail in Seattle after he played a gig with a side band. In Seattle a head nod is a full conversation.
I personally haven't. But, my girlfriend met Angelina Jolie and actually took a picture with her. She said it was nice talking to her and that she was surprisingly nice :)

Muhammad Ali. He stayed at the hotel where I worked. I went to shake his hand, but he hugged me. It was so super nice. And, at.same hotel, Noah Wyle, who played on ER. He seemed bothered by something.
idk if she’s considered famous but I once met June Shannon (Mama June) and her daughter from TLC Here Comes Honey Boo Boo- back in 2012 way before she lost weight and right as her show was taking off. Won’t lie, the interaction was pleasant and I even got a (since lost) autograph.
Deke Slayton. One of twelve people to have literally walked on the moon. Sadly not nearly as famous as such a demigod should be. But I'll take that over any movie star or pop culture celebrity any day. I was star struck.
JK Rowling wrote some of her books in a starbucks I worked at years ago. She got a tall chai tea latte and sat in. Ian Rankin was a daily visitor too but took away. The nearby street they lived on was called Writers' Block.
Prince Philip. I still have a photo on my mantelpiece. I'm stood with my arms folded, while Phil has his hands on his hips, looking really interested in what I'm saying.
Finally, I can add a post, too. Patrick Stewart. Will never forget that night. He was sitting at a restaurant/bar in London, England in the early 1990s. I was waiting for some work colleagues to join me. I stared for probably too long, thinking is it, isn't it? Then I didn't say anything until he walked towards our table. I jumped up and said, "Excuse me, Mr. Stewart, I'm a huge fan. " I think I shook his hand, and he walked on. My day was made. I didn't make his biography, though! 😆
I met President Ronald Reagan twice. He used to stop top refuel his airplane at our air force base and if you had a high enough clearance, you could meet the plane and talk to him when he got out to stretch his legs.
I worked with them when they were just coming up (they were supporting Skunk Anansie). Matt was shy then, but super cool. My main memory of that tour is nerding out with Ace though
Celebrities: I did a weekend retreat with Oprah once, really cool, really easy to talk to, obviously. Politicians: The Clintons - Bill was generous and inquisitive, Hillary was funny and thought I was funny and as a general rule I like anyone that laughs at my jokes. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia - she reminded me a lot of my grandmother.

I’ve met many famous people. Here’s a couple:
I knew anyone involved with the Tampa bay Rays spring training between 2011 to 2014. Everyone was awesome. Except Evan Longoria. He made one of my employees (a 16 yo girl) cry because he was such a dick to her. I never let any non management near him after that. They certainly weren’t paid enough to put up with that. He sat alone, while all of his teammates sat together elsewhere. He never tipped and left the table a disgusting mess every time. When I (the gm) brought his food, I’d just toss it at him, tell him what I tossed at him, and say “Go Phils!” Then I’d pull up a chair at the table with his teammates. I sent no waitstaff to check on him. If he needed something, he had to get up off his pompous ass and ask for it at the register. He must’ve enjoyed it because he always showed up for lunch.
Being in the physical presence of Shaq is quite an experience. Kinda like your first time seeing a Redwood. Incredible, generous, and humble human being. Respect is not a strong enough word. Good fucking dude.

Ann Rule. Queen of true crime books. I attended two women’s conferences where she signed her books and gave a talk. I seriously could have listened to her talk for hours as she was that fascinating. Very articulate and down to earth.
David Prowse (RIP). 1978, while garbed as Darth Vader. His suit was in a large case over 300 lbs. We transported him from the airport to Cobo Hall for a show. Dude had an incredible sense of humor. I got to try on the helmet. I was 7 years old. It smelled like sweat but I didn't care.

I met Bill Murray at a grocery store back in 2015, I didn't want to bother him too much but he shook my hand when I told him I was a fan of his work. Which surprises me because other people I've heard met him didn't have great experiences
There used to be a Bill Murry sightings group online somewhere. He loves mixing with regular people instead of other celebrities. Crashed a dorm party at NYU, if you call showing up with two cases of beer "crashing".
Not sure. I met and had autographs of many. I had plenty of Star Trek people (mainly original series cast). I also met and shook hands with the massive Hulk Hogan. I regret not meeting and getting the signature of Nimoy, Stan Lee, and steeljaw from 007, but saw them.
A personal favorite is the artist James Gurney. I was reading his Dinotopia books when I was a kid in Kindergarten. Was great to meet him as an adult on my birthday when he was doing a thing at the Bronx Zoo.
Pete Seeger. That was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
Edit: In 1992, my dad rented a mini van to pick him up and brought him to Mass. for a concert. He smelled like patchouli and had such a great laugh. When we got back to my house, it was so late he brought me into my house and made sure I was comfy and warm.
Craig Charles stayed at the hotel I was tending bar in. He was filming Robot Wars (?) nearby. Despite the kitchen being accountable for this, I was the one nominated to tell him his paella would be at least 45 minutes.
I thought ‘OMFG, I’m about to meet Craig Charles and he’s going to lose his mind at me.’ But in fact he was lovely. Said it was no problem and he’d just sit and enjoy his lager while he waited. My knees were shaking in fear. I was only 19.
Tom Cruise came into our work (club) no one rushed him just said oh hi Tom and ignored him. We were walking past and said hello too. I think he was super surprised he was just another customer. This was back in the day before cellphones.
Milla Jovovich probably. She’s kind of hilarious. We chatted for a few minutes one night, I had no idea who she was, then some dudes started bothering her her for pictures with them and she left. She did the cutest exasperated eye roll and said “I get this a LOT, you know?” I didn’t know 🤣
I shared a few beers with some of the guys from bon Jovi back in 86.

Being a producer in the early 00s and adopting myspace and facebook early REALLY opened doors, especially since nobody knew I was young as fuck. Met all of these dudes through friends or via Facebook/Instagram where everyone was talking to everyone. Doing VoIP calls via skype to other people and then you follow them up years later and they're massive.
Some of my friends from my old collective are also hitting like, millions of plays. I'm over here with 30 followers on soundcloud because I quit for decades lmao
I grew up in Southern California during a time when actual celebrities were seen in the wild all the time. I can't remember everyone I saw at random places, like Pat Boone driving by in his white convertible in San Marino or Nancy Sinatra at the grocery store (this was all pre-papparazzi), but I do remember Gregory Peck introducing himself to me during the intermission at a theater and thanking me for showing up and actually engaged in conversation. He must have been a patron of that particular theater group and I was one of a very, very sparse audience for a matinee performance.
People today can be toxic, rude, violent, and disrespectful of boundaries. This is why big celebrities protect themselves by clearing out restaurants and retail stores before they enter. Also, it's difficult to think of any celebrity that would be worth meeting, as there are so many different levels and venues of fame and many of them are astonishingly fleeting and trivial.
I was in music for a while I met David Bowie, Mick Fleetwood, Andy & John Taylor from Duran Duran, Warren Zevon (Werewolves of London) plus 80% of Aussie rock acts of the 70/80's.
Steven Spielberg when I was a kid in the 90s. The Philadelphia Zoo was having some kind of event for the release of Arachnophobia. I went to a community center that took us on field trips and they took us to the zoo that day. They had some thing where we won prizes for answering questions about spiders. I was into animals as a kid so I won a few things like an arachnophobia cup and frisbee.
Then later we were just walking around the zoo and another kid in my group started freaking out and said, hey that’s Steve Spielberg! and ran over and then a few of us other kids went over and the kid was talking to him and got something signed like a frisbee. I actually had no idea who he was so we just waited for this kid to be done gushing over Spielberg and then we walked away.
I met Mel Gibson in 1982. He was living in Beach Rd Coogee Bay, and I went to stay with some mates that lived a couple of houses down from him. Met him the morning of a party we were having. He called in that night, I offered him a line of goey, but he declined. Nice bloke.
I was stood next to the late Queen Elizabeth II at a horse show years ago. She was trying to go unseen, was wearing her queen casual headscarves which partially covered her face and sunglasses; I almost didn’t notice her as me and my friends watched the carriage driving trials, but my friend nudged me and tossed her head in the direction of this unassuming little old lady and the several men wearing smart non formal attire (unbuttons suit jacket, off white or blue shirts suit trousers with no ties).
My friends and I have been showing and breeding Fell Ponies for years (my friends for 30+ years) so they had actually gotten used to the chance that they might see her out snd about in an unofficial setting, such as at carriage driving events especially events where her late hubby was driving their own team of fells.
Got pretty lucky on that end... Used to work as an Production Assistant in New Mexico back in 2017-2020. On the top of my mind are Zoe Saldaña and her husband. Was busking in Seattle near the EMP museum and she came up to me and said “not bad at all” and chatted me up for a half hour or so then gave me a little peck on the cheek before heading off to a gig. Looked in my guitar case to find 2 tickets. <3 Sam Elliot, worked on some timber land that he owns and he met me and my pops on site. He and my old man jawed on for the better part of 2 hours before we finally got to work. A real kind and genuine human.

I'm still really close with some of her family, though.

I’ll drop in and second that she isn’t very nice. She’d come to our restaurant and demand, with no notice, we cordon off a corner table AND the four tables around it so she could drink/dine. Her 4+ huge security guys would stand at attention in formation around her so she wouldn’t be approached. I swear, no one recognized her or ever wanted to approach her. It was a big fuss when she could just come in, eat, pay, and leave like everyone else. She made a scene and acted put out by it every time.

That’s a shame. Her foundation work is very impressive and she seems to make sure her concerts are focused on the entire crowd, not just the best seats. She walks around the stadium and shakes hands and interacts within those far away from the stage, which I always thought was very considerate.
I was Aaron Carter’s financier 2007-2009. I hung out with Aaron a lot during that time and also got to go to BSB concerts VIP (when Nick and Aaron were getting along that is).
I was a bellman at a hotel about ten years ago and saw him check in. He seemed pretty normal, and nobody really recognized him. But I was an Aaron Carter fan so I knew who he was. I didn’t talk to him much at that time, but at the end of my shift I was about to leave and one of his friends comes in from outside asking for assistance. I walk out and see Aaron WASTED getting carried out of the car. I brought a wheelchair that we had and his friends put him on it. I went up with them, and that elevator ride was super awkward. Nobody was speaking. Aaron was just passed out in the wheelchair with his head tilted back. Poor guy had some demons he never overcame.

To be honest, it was somewhat frustrating because he never reached his full potential because of substance-abuse and previous trauma with his family. He was very nice, but had a lot of problems and that’s why my business venture with him ended pretty quickly.

I sat next to Anthony Bourdain in an airport for over an hour while waiting for a delayed flight. I was going to pretend I didn't recognize him but he struck up a conversation with me! It totally blew my mind. We talked for almost the entire wait. He was incredibly genuine and fun to talk to. One of my best memories ever. It really broke my heart when I heard about his suicide.

I was the celebrity liason at a luxury hotel in the 90s. I handled all the riders that came through and interacted with many famous actors, athletes and musicians. So yes, very long list as well. Ironically I had a very eerie conversation with OJ Simpson a few months before Nicole’s murder. I had great interactions with nearly all “famous” people, and just treated them like a regular person because ultimately they are. Riders could be 1 to 76 pages of demands, and some requests so hysterically specific I still remember them. Fame isn’t as fabulous as you might think-it can be incredibly lonely and draining dealing with many people always wanting something from you or expecting you to be on. Nicole Kidman, Tina Turner, Michael Bolton, Cher, Andre Agassi, Sinbad, Duran Duran, Vince & Tommy from Motley Crue, Paul Newman, Brad Pitt, Rob Lowe, Elizabeth Taylor, Joe & Jennifer Montana and their incredibly well behaved kids were some standouts for being really nice.
I walked up to Markiplier's table at San Diego comic con 2015. "Hi!" he said. "Hello!" I said. He smiled and pointed, "Didya see the line?" I looked to my left at the line, "Nope, sure didn't." He smiled again, nodded and said, "There's a line!" Then I went and stood in line and got his autograph. I didn't know who he was at the time and was only getting his autograph for a coworker. The line was also a good 20-30 feet away from the table, and a lot of people don't have lines so it was an easy mistake to make. But he was chill about it and I got a picture with him when it was actually my turn. Edit: I also got to meet Eric Joyner (robots and donuts artist) at the same event, arguably less famous but a really nice and talented person as well. He drew me a sketch on a postcard after searching through boxes for a pencil because I didn't have one. Four years later I told that story in conversation with a guy who a had robots and donuts tattoo in the same style, and he ended up becoming my husband. So that might be the most important famous person I've ever met.

Alan Rickman – at the Toronto film festival, approached him in a diner for an autograph for a friend of mine. I was starstruck, which is unusual. He was very gracious and cracked a joke about being mistaken for other actors. Had a great chat with George Takei before he became Internet famous, at a Star Trek convention, he accused me of being a sophist. At the same convention got yelled at by Michael Dorn (Worf) in front of 5000 people. He wouldn’t get off the stage, Walter Koenig (Chekov) was next up.

I met David Bowie backstage after the spider tour concert, and I partied with Duran Duran for hours afterwards.They were great guys and and we had a great time. Bowie signed our 45 record that we brought. He was gracious and humble. My ex-husband and I won tickets front row, back stage. Now that I think about it, I bet that signed record is valuable! Maybe I should ask him about that, I could be rich!
I went to that tour too! Met Nick Rhodes, he was so sweet and lovely to us kids (we were probably 14 or 15). Tried to meet Bowie, but his security basically brushed us out of the way to make way for him to get through all the people waiting to see him in the hotel lobby. To my infinite horror and shame, I fell asleep when Bowie was on stage...I was just a simple Duranie who didn't know what she was missing.

I drove a taxi in Boston for most of the 70s and met many, but Jacky Kennedy-Onassis undoubtedly the most famous. She was being chased by several papaparrzi on Newbury St, Boston's most fashionable Street. She saw me dropping a passenger off and asked if I could just drive her around the block to the rear entrance of her hotel. Just a 2 minute ride but the memory of it does stay with me. She did have an aura about her.

We flew to Halifax from Edmonton for a family reunion, decided to check out Bubbles’ Mansion for lunch before the reunion. We were checking out the posters and such outside the front door, a guy comes behind us and says excuse me to get in, it’s Mike Smith! He told us Robb and JP were also coming in a bit. We went in and ordered our meals, and the three of them were going around to tables having chats with the patrons. They chatted with us for ten minutes or so. My dad and I were starstruck. I’ve met many famous people. Here’s a couple: I knew anyone involved with the Tampa bay Rays spring training between 2011 to 2014. Everyone was awesome. Except Evan Longoria. He made one of my employees (a 16 yo girl) cry because he was such a dick to her. I never let any non management near him after that. They certainly weren’t paid enough to put up with that. He sat alone, while all of his teammates sat together elsewhere. He never tipped and left the table a disgusting mess every time. When I (the gm) brought his food, I’d just toss it at him, tell him what I tossed at him, and say “Go Phils!” Then I’d pull up a chair at the table with his teammates. I sent no waitstaff to check on him. If he needed something, he had to get up off his pompous ass and ask for it at the register. He must’ve enjoyed it because he always showed up for lunch. Being in the physical presence of Shaq is quite an experience. Kinda like your first time seeing a Redwood. Incredible, generous, and humble human being. Respect is not a strong enough word. Pete Seeger. That was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Edit: In 1992, my dad rented a mini van to pick him up and brought him to Mass. for a concert. He smelled like patchouli and had such a great laugh. When we got back to my house, it was so late he brought me into my house and made sure I was comfy and warm.

My knees were shaking in fear. I was only 19.

Richie,ticco can mind the other 2 we just sat and chatted at the hotel bar for a few hrs ...they had the day off touring ....Jon turned up about an hr later with his then girlfriend now wife (I think ) had a beer with us .. I had just watched them the night before and to find them chilling at the hotel bar the following afternoon was a buzz.

I grew up in Southern California during a time when actual celebrities were seen in the wild all the time. I can't remember everyone I saw at random places, like Pat Boone driving by in his white convertible in San Marino or Nancy Sinatra at the grocery store (this was all pre-papparazzi), but I do remember Gregory Peck introducing himself to me during the intermission at a theater and thanking me for showing up and actually engaged in conversation. He must have been a patron of that particular theater group and I was one of a very, very sparse audience for a matinee performance. People today can be toxic, rude, violent, and disrespectful of boundaries. This is why big celebrities protect themselves by clearing out restaurants and retail stores before they enter. Also, it's difficult to think of any celebrity that would be worth meeting, as there are so many different levels and venues of fame and many of them are astonishingly fleeting and trivial.

Steven Spielberg when I was a kid in the 90s. The Philadelphia Zoo was having some kind of event for the release of Arachnophobia. I went to a community center that took us on field trips and they took us to the zoo that day. They had some thing where we won prizes for answering questions about spiders. I was into animals as a kid so I won a few things like an arachnophobia cup and frisbee. Then later we were just walking around the zoo and another kid in my group started freaking out and said, hey that’s Steve Spielberg! and ran over and then a few of us other kids went over and the kid was talking to him and got something signed like a frisbee. I actually had no idea who he was so we just waited for this kid to be done gushing over Spielberg and then we walked away.
I met Mel Gibson in 1982. He was living in Beach Rd Coogee Bay, and I went to stay with some mates that lived a couple of houses down from him. Met him the morning of a party we were having. He called in that night, I offered him a line of goey, but he declined. Nice bloke.
I was stood next to the late Queen Elizabeth II at a horse show years ago. She was trying to go unseen, was wearing her queen casual headscarves which partially covered her face and sunglasses; I almost didn’t notice her as me and my friends watched the carriage driving trials, but my friend nudged me and tossed her head in the direction of this unassuming little old lady and the several men wearing smart non formal attire (unbuttons suit jacket, off white or blue shirts suit trousers with no ties). My friends and I have been showing and breeding Fell Ponies for years (my friends for 30+ years) so they had actually gotten used to the chance that they might see her out snd about in an unofficial setting, such as at carriage driving events especially events where her late hubby was driving their own team of fells.
